The owners are so kind and caring. Very hands on. They made our stay very enjoyable. The rooms are dated but clean and spacious. We got to kayak and row boat. Close to town too. They helped us out when our original vacation spot was cancelled suddenly. They took the time to help us and make our vacation better than... More

Hats off to the owner Rob, Family and Crew at the Sundowner Motel. We just spent 4 nights there this past week. I was very skeptical about making a reservation without actually seeing the place. Rob was very accommodating on the phone and as soon as we checked. The owners live right on the property and are there all day... More

We spend two nights at the Sundowner and booked the room based on the reviews read here. I loved the idea of walking to town and the motel having its own private little lake beach so we could lake swim. I was traveling with my husband, 7 year old, and 10 year old so we were able to book the... More

My wife & I had spent a few days In L.G. at the Sundowner Motel. While the motel itself was nothing to rave about( just know, it IS dated) the room was spacious, clean, and had a working TV and mini fridge. No trouble with the mattress, BUT the In-wall air conditioner was extremely noisy making it a bit difficult... More

The Gregor family has taken over ownership of the Sundowner (also own the Montreal Motel around the corner). They are working to update and are doing a good job. This motel is located not far from the center of the village and offers easy walks to the park, city beach and shopping. Staff are pleasant and efficient and the lake... More

Right on lake. Easy walk to village. Like many propeties in Lake George, it is privately owned so resources are tight for upgrading. However, this was not an issue for the room we had. Maybe for the air conditioner which was old, a bit noisy but worked. Pool was clean, they have kayaks for guests to use at no cost... More

We've been coming here for years. We were surprised to find out that the owners sold the motel. We were a little nervous about it, but it ended up being okay. We had a problem with the AC and they switched the entire unit out for a better one. They really tried to take care of us! We love coming... More

Old furniture very dated but well maintained. Helpful, friendly and responsive staff. Pool overheated. No wifi. Beach small. Would not stay here again. Ended up going to bolton landing where I found the ambiance and lodging more preferable.

They have paddles, row boats, hot tubs, and pool. Really close to main st. They are right on the water! Theres a small beach that some people swim at. Its a motel so you wont get 5 star but well worth the price. Id go again.

It was the perfect spot to stay with two kids under four and in-laws. The kid size pool was basically our own personal pool until the kids worked up the nerve for the big one. The room had separate bedrooms and a living area / kitchen (which is key with toddlers) and had great service. Also there's a small private... More
