At The Lodges at Cresthaven, many guests rave about the spacious rooms with stunning views, though a few note they can be dimly lit. The hotel's rustic charm and Adirondack-inspired decor, paired with comfortable furnishings and cozy fireplaces, create a welcoming atmosphere that earns consistent praise. Reviewers are impressed with the cleanliness across the immaculate grounds and luxurious amenities like the steam shower and pool.
While most find the balance between cost and offerings favorable, opinions on value differ during the off-season. Service at Cresthaven is frequently commended for its friendly and efficient staff, despite occasional connectivity issues.

Hotel's Favorite
Resort is just beautiful, and serene. Resort ownership could do a better job at evening noise control, but the office closes and there is no one around, and could do better at policing the no little kids in the adult hot tub area, but all in all staff is top notch, they are quick to address concerns, and they maintain the property beautifully. As this is a timeshare it would be nice if owners were given some sort of “perk” for being an owner and not just a renter.

Pros: stunning views esp from third floor of oak tree lodges, large suites that come well-accomodated and very spacious decks/balconies, cute beach at Lake with paddle boards and kayaks to borrow (note: must bring own beach towels) and some fun and relaxing events/activities. Boathouse restaurant with yummy food and staff very nice. Mattresses were very comfy!
Cons: No reliable cell or internet service and WiFi code (on telephone) wrong with a lot of unanswered calls to desk wasting lots of time. Missing sheets and blanket on 1 of 2 king beds and unable to have fixed until next day as staff leaves for good at 6 pm. (Had to make bed by piecing together sheets for the twin pullout bed.). Sheets that were provided were dark brown rather than standard white hotel sheets which led to us cleaning them for good measure but hotel dryer took 4 hrs to dry 2 sheets and kept us up past midnight and ultimately piecing more twin sheets together. 3 TVs, 8 remotes and only 1 working match left us playing tv remote Jenga for 2 hours and finally we found correct remotes without batteries in them. Again, take heed, no front desk staff past 6 pm. Ugh. But these are true 3rd world problems so can I really complain? (Though for $944 per night, I was feeling kinda justified to whine a little.)
When we were able to speak to staff the next day they seemed skeptical that we were missing sheets and a blanket and wanted to see for themselves. I’m guessing since our suite had not been ready at check in time that they were in a rush and just missed completing the beds. We were supplied a rubbery feeling polyester blanket with holes in it, not equivalent to the blanket in the other bedroom but maybe they had nothing left. It took an average of 3 calls per issue to get a response (answering machine kept picking up) though staff was very nice whenever I was able to speak to them. (We never did get the batteries for the tv remote but I only called twice for that issue. Lol)
Rooms could use full length mirrors and luggage racks and would have loved to eat breakfast onsite (they only do lunch and dinner) but overall the experience was still a good one and if not for the very high prices we would definitely consider returning bringing our own sheets (and beach towels) next time..
We did not have any noise issues as others have reported and in fact it was much quieter than many other hotels we’ve been in.

Devon, Thank you very much for your review and feedback! It is greatly appreciated. While we do not have staff onsite 24 hours we do have an after hour phone number that was given in your check in packet in case you have an issue after our staff leaves. I do apologize for the issues you had. That is not typical for our property. Overall, we do hope you enjoyed your time here in beautiful Lake George! Your friends at, The Lodges at Cresthaven

My husband and I stayed in the 1 bedroom very large Unit #45 with open concept full kitchen, large living/dining room, and king bedroom with a very comfortable mattress; hey that can make or break a vacation at our age being seniors. :) The ensuite bath has a very large tile shower/steam shower which was one of the reasons we chose this property and this unit. After a day out site-seeing, boating, biking or hiking it was a welcome amenity especially in the fall. All rooms are very spacious and were impeccably clean. The unit is located as you enter the property at the top of the hill which affords outstanding views of the lake from the living room w/ sliders that open onto a large covered porch with a large dining set and 2 chaise lounge chairs. The bedroom also has large windows with great lake views and a door to the covered porch. Watching the moon rise over the mountains across the lake was spectacular. Having coffee on the porch one rainy AM, watching the mist and clouds hover over the lake and mountains; it was so beautiful. Also sunrise from the bed and porch, and shade from the warm sun. A plus was having our own garage parking under the unit with an elevator. The well maintained grounds and amenities are truly spectacular, especially the outdoor fireplace, various sitting areas with couches and tables, pool, covered grotto with large hot tub with views of the lake. Large sandy beach with loungers, chairs, umbrellas. There are 2 things to consider staying at the top of the hill and in this unit. It is a fairly steep grade walking down to the amenities AND BACK UP to the unit but you can drive down the hill and park closer. Another issue is we were on the first floor of 2 levels. We had a very heavy footed "pacer" in the unit above us so we would recommend the top floor if available. We shared the porch with the smaller neighboring unit but they had their own section of the porch around the corner with table and chairs so we still felt we had our privacy. You can also book that connecting unit for a larger group. The cabins on the property are closer to the beach and amenities and looked really nice for a family. We had a delicious dinner at the on property Boathouse Restaurant which we would highly recommend. Great dining experience....ask for window seating...We will be back as we frequent the Adirondacks and have now found the perfect lodging

I wanted to take advantage of the long weekend (Valentine’s/President’s Day) to relax and get away for a quiet weekend with my husband. Typically we stay at the Sagamore or Inn at Erlowest (both of which are excellent), but since both were booked Friday and Saturday I figured I’d try somewhere new. I regret that very much.
The lodges themselves are just as pictured and the views are beautiful. The front desk staff was also very helpful. However, the walls are PAPER thin. Valentine’s night we were next to a couple who fought all evening (e.g. screaming about how “it wasn’t the room she wanted”), and above us kids were running back and forth loudly for hours. The couple next door also woke up at 6am on Saturday to do laundry - which I assume is to next to the adjoining door based on the noise level - and to continue their complaining.
The women at the front desk were kind enough to change our room to the top floor and tried to be accommodating, but also moved the same people who were previously next to us upstairs as well (as they also complained about the noise from above and wanting a room change more generally). The rest of the weekend we heard their every conversation, sneeze and cough. They had friends over on Sunday so we put on music to try and drown them out but still were able to hear them over it.
I considered getting a room at the Sagamore Sunday night and just eating the $250 per night here - but my husband convinced me to just stick it out at that point. I felt so badly the weekend I was hoping to relax and unwind was ruined. Next time I’ll stick to the places I know or do an AirBnB. If you’re planning to stay here, request a top floor, stand alone room, unless you want to have a similar experience to ours.

We've stayed at the lodges with our young family a few years in a row. Our last visit, we noticed a distinct decline in just about everything. The linens and towels are old and drab, the kitchen was barely stocked with anything that would make cooking possible, the bed frame was crooked in the master bedroom, the pool filter and heater appeared broken more often than not, and the overall cleanliness of the rooms and pool area has declined. On top of it all, the Lodges have increased their rates significantly without providing any new or updated amenities. It's now the same price as the Sagamore, and it is nowhere near on par. As much as the kids loved it, we'll take our $8K/week to a true 5 star resort where amenities and housekeeping are the norm. Yes, it's a nice view of the lake but not worth the rates they're trying to command,

Our 2 bedroom lodge is very clean and spacious. Kitchen has everything you would need. We arrived at 1230 on Sunday and our lodge was ready which was really nice. Washer and dryer in unit is perfect and they provide detergent (2 loads worth).
The pool area is clean but a bit small, as is the beach area but it does not feel crowded. They did a free welcome BBQ on Monday evening with burgers/hotdogs/ribs and sides - people serving were very kind and efficient. The location is very close to the village and convenient to hiking, shopping, etc. Would recommend for a family of four that needs some space.

Stayed here for a few nights in April 2021. Check-in was a breeze, the room was ready early, and everything was left for contactless pickup. The room, a 2-bedroom lodge, was huge and spotless. Everything was very clean, with extra cleaning supplies left in both kitchen areas. The balcony was perfect, as it was accessible from every room. The steam shower and jacuzzi were both extremely useful after a long day of hiking and exploring! The grounds were immaculate, and everything was kept in pristine condition. The sports area was great for the kids, as was the playground. Would love to experience this resort in the summer when the lake and restaurant are fully operational. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommend!

Let's start with the good! We rented a suite with kitchen & separate bedroom, and it also came with a complete unnecessary garage. I will say it did make us feel luxurious! The grounds are also immaculate and well maintained. The pool is beautiful, and the hot tub grotto/cave is the coolest hot tub I have ever seen! The rooms were also decked out in the adirondack-y feel we were looking for, and a HUGE balcony. Every room also has an amazing view of the lake.
Now onto the not so good....First off, the resort is very hilly so if you are not great with walking you will end up driving or flagging down one of the golfcart boys. The pool also does not give out towels, so remember to bring your own or look under the sink for extras (which no one told us until we got to the pool/rec area-- the front lobby guy had no idea & and had no idea what time they opened/closed). The pool is also a lot smaller in person than in the pictures which was disappointing, so at times it was very full and you had to come back. We weren't able to even use the indoor part of the pool because it was too crowded. It is still a lovely pool though! Also, the elevator to our 3rd floor suite was probably the sketchiest elevator I have ever been in. It's very slow and feels like it's not moving at times, but then you get to the 3rd floor and the entire thing shakes/vibrates. We opted to walk majority of the time! Now onto the reason I gave 3 stars, and probably should have given 2 stars. My husband woke up in the middle of the night and went into the kitchen to grab a drink. We had a tray of cookies on the counter (closed in the box) and he put his drink down to grab a cookie...something scurried when he placed his drink down. He grabbed his phone and turned on the flashlight and found about 100 roaches in various sizes crawling all over the counter. It was completely disgusting!! We had our suspicion when we arrived and smelled something off. We didn't think too much of it, but it had to be the roaches living in that suite. I felt so bad for the couple staying next door who had no idea of this issue. We called the front desk the next day to report it and there was no sense of disgust/urgency from the front desk. They didn't even seem phased by it. They told us they would send someone over to check it out, but by morning they roaches had gone back to sleep so I'm sure they saw nothing and left. We were still able to see small roaches still on the counter & I have picture evidence.

This is the first time we stayed at the Lodges at Cresthaven and we were thoroughly impressed. The property is immaculate and beautiful with breathtaking views of the lake. The lodges are roomy, clean and well equipped. We loved the private beach and the various amenities throughout the property. The onsite restaurant, The Boathouse, was exceptional. The food was delicious and the service was great. We appreciated the safety protocols that were in place which made us feel comfortable. We truly enjoyed our stay.

I found this resort last minute and somehow was able to get a room less than a week before Lab Day weekend. I booked what they call a hotel room for 3 nights through their website. I received a call the next morning that there was an error in their system and that room type was not available for the 3rd night. To make things right, she (I believe it was Jessica) quickly offered me one of there 2-bedroom cabins for nearly half price for the last night. I quickly took them up on it and it worked out very well. This was a smart move on their part because we loved the cabin and will definitely be back with another couple to book it again.
This resort is absolutely beautiful. The 'hotel room' for the first 2 nights was great as well. Very spacious, well decorated room with fantastic view of the lake. It was great watching the sunrise in the morning from the beautiful shared deck. These rooms are much better than a typical hotel. They are in 3 floor log cabin buildings that have 3 rooms per floor - very nice! They also have single and double bedroom individual cabins that are all beautifully appointed with Adirondack styling.
The grounds are amazing and well manicured. The pool is nicely designed, heated, infinity style with a great view of the lake. They also have a separate semi-enclosed large hot tub in a separate location on the grounds. Also worth mentioning the great sitting area platforms that have great views, one which has a beautiful fireplace. The restaurant is great, which is right on the water with indoor and outdoor seating. The food was good, but a bit pricey.
What else can I say about this place. In my opinion, it's the nicest resort at the Lake. It definitely stood out from the others while we were on the steamboat tour. We will definitely be back.
