Just returned home from an absolutely awesome weekend at English Brook Cottages, Kevin, Laurie and their family were nothing short of amazing. Kevin greeted us with a warm welcome and we met Laurie and his family shortly after while enjoying some wine on the patio and a friendly game of basketball. They were absolutely wonderful to us we had great conversations and they treated us like we were a part of the family. They really make you feel welcomed and were very accommodating showing us where to park and giving us pointers on fun family activities. They have everything you need, grocery store out back, firewood at the main house for sale and tons of brochures to help in deciding what our plans were each day! They even let us check out later so we didn't have to feel rushed. Every year we try to visit Lake George at least once or twice and I can honestly say it was the best time and stay that we have ever had. 5 star by far!
Our cabin was wonderful cozy with just enough space for the 4 of us or more! Accommodation were perfect, we stayed upstairs in Buckingham Palace the rooms were spotless updated and well kept. We had a full kitchen with a Keurig, K-cups cream and sugar to enjoy each morning. 4 beds (2 in each bedroom) Linens were clean & wonderful. Air conditioning was perfect for our 2 bedroom cottage. The cottage was simply amazing!. You can tell they have put a lot of their time into making this an incredible escape for everyone to enjoy! It's very close to town but also the perfect distance to feel like you're out of the hustle and bustle and can enjoy the wonderful ambience of the Adirondacks! Especially with their attention to detail, one of the first things we noticed was the beautiful well-kept landscape and the incredible crystal clear heated pool it was just awesome!!! We enjoyed relaxing evenings on our porch & patio listening to music, playing basketball and enjoying each other's company!
We fell in love with every aspect of English Brook and are looking forward to our next stay & seeing Kevin Laurie & their family again very soon!

Thank you so much for your review Renee. We truly appreciate it. As the new owners, we strive to make our cottages a place families will want to return to every year. We were hoping all our little details make the place memorable. We enjoyed talking with you and your family .... I actually had to tell my husband and daughter, we need to let them go out and explore ... we have to stop talking, lol. It's families like yours that make this venture in our lives so worth it. We look forward to seeing you again. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Our stay was incredible. Julian was accommodating and helpful. Our girls and dog had a lovely time. Remember that this is an old-fashioned cabin. The facility is low-tech; it has an outdoor grill, fire pit, lots of woods, a pool, and quiet hours. They provide firewood and charcoal. I loved it!

Hands down the best place to stay in lake George! The cottages were extremely clean and the location is great!!!!! We recently stayed with family and friends and there was so much room and space to hang out together. The owners are so knowledgeable, friendly and helped us book our boat tour and rodeo show! Thank you so much English Brook Cottages for an amazing stay. Highly recommended

Our stay was fantastic! When we first arrived and throughout our stay Ksenia was very kind and helpful. She attended to every request we had with a smile and pleasant attitude .
Chris was kind and friendly. He talked with us as if we were old friends.
Cabins and surroundings were clean and well kept.
Close enough to all amenities but just out of the hustle and bustle of town. Overall a wonderful experience - will definitely be returning !

Showed up not knowing what to expect. Was staying only 2 nights. If you don’t mind staying in a cabin, then this place is very good. Julian the guy who does it all there was very accommodating and friendly. We had a dog with us and everything worked out great. Would look to get an even bigger cabin next time . Definitely have to reserve earlier next time.

To Kevin, Laurie, and staff at English Brook Cottages, thank you all for an amazing holiday weekend. Your hospitality made our trip (our second visit) worth every moment. Glamping at its best. BBQ, fire pit, large pool, comfortable cottages with patios, all the amenities needed to settle in, and enjoy our stay. Close to everything, except the noise of the town, private oasis to unwind and enjoy nature.

We stayed at the English Brook cottages on a 3 night trip to Lake George in 2004.
I checked out their web-site and it looked like a cute place to spend our down time at Lake George. (We planned on one afternoon just at the cottage we rented.
Well the owners live on the property and the the whole time you kind of felt like you were being watched. My son and I took a walk around one day and the owner practically followed us. We went up by the wooded area and we came back he actually wanted to know what we were doing???? Also he has kids so the pool was being occupied a lot by his kids and their friends. The basketball "court" was a hoop right near the owners house which was also occupied a lot by his kids. Playground was very very small.(we didn;t use it as our kids were older.) If you rent a cottage ask for one not near the highway. We had cottage 11 and it was near the highway so it wasn't quite the quiet setting we hoped for.
There were pluses though:
The pool was nice when we did get to use it.
In the back of our cottage was a picnic table and grill. Nice in the evenings. plus it was on the private side so you didn't feel like you were being watched.
Housekeeping was good.
The owners also kept a small cooler of popsicles and treats available.
Not too far from the main village of Lake George. You did have to drive though.

I am a 47 year old married Family man with 4 children, have been going on vacation twice a summer to lake george for the past 25 years, took a few years to find this place but once I did never stayed anywhere else, it was sad to find out when I called a couple of years ago to find out that Ken the owner retired and sold to a new owner, however my family still went for a week, and what a difference, New owner's were young with several children that were not very nice, never in office, never there if you needed something, they were more parties than anything else, so of coarse we never returned, But to our surprise they lost the place yet to another owner, his name is Chris, the office manager is Peggy, we were excited to once again be able to stay there, upon arrival we were shocked to see the money that they invested in making it look like a brand new place, the pool was retiled, all the units have been remodeled, New hardwood floors, appliances, ceiling fans, air conditioners, brand new bathrooms, a shower that includes foot messages, body jets, overhead waterfall, neon lights, and music, all new decor, beautiful French doors, raised ceilings, units include in closed private screen porches, picnic tables, fire pits, they supply wood for night time campfires for the kids or romantic evenings with the wife, also heated pool is cleaned everyday with plenty of chairs and pool toys for everyone, office supplies board games for family nights, they have basketball, private swings for adults as well as a playground for the kids, very clean, friendly staff there for anything you need, coupons, books, etc..also love that pool is open later than anywhere else for that nice late night swim, as much as I loved Ken, Chris has really turned this place into a 5 star hotel inside and out, but what you also get is the camping experience with fires, hike trail, streams, I can't say enough about this place, and trolley service out front, however village is just down the hill and around the corner, a must try for everyone to really feel at home with family pricing in mind. You stay once and will never stay anywhere again, take it from a General Sales Manager who travels the world, Top Notch, Thank you Chris and Peggy for a great 8 days in July And another week in August, had to go twice couldn't resist wish I could stay all summer. So I'm giving my best kept secret to you all, because this new owner really deserved it. Absolutely Awesome!!

I booked this place for our weekend in Lake George on southwesthotels.com primarily because it billed itself as dog friendly. Their office had limited hours and I knew we'd be arriving after hours since we had to work on Friday and had a 4 hour drive. I found the contact us link on their website, emailed to arrange a late check-in and the owner, Chris, confirmed our late check-in and stated that they would be waiting for us.
2 days later, we were en route and about 30 minutes away when I received a call from Ted asking when we would be arriving. When I told him we were on our way and would be there in a half hour, he was rude and said "you should have let us know this." Um, I did. He was kinder when I informed him that I had emailed about a late check-in and that Chris had confirmed and was pleasant and apologized when we checked in.
We stayed in cottage 3 with our dogs. It is tiny as another reviewer stated but I liked the privacy of having our own cottage. I don't know what those complaining about the size expect when they book a 1 bed cottage. Book a suite at a hotel if you're looking for luxury.
The location is only 1 mile from the village. We plan on making our trip to Lake George with our dogs an annual thing and I would definitely consider staying here again.

We stayed here two years ago and had a good experience. However, ownership changed and the front desk manager Ted displayed a very unprofessional attitude at checkin and in subsequent email followup (wish you could read the stuff he wrote). Beware how they will try and rope you into a two night or more minimum stay even though there website is unclear on that. Part of the problem is they have no online booking or clear confirmation process. We had intended to stay two nights but at checkin I informed Ted that we might not be able to stay the second night because we needed to head back to TN. He gave me such a hard time, threatening to charge for both nights regardless. They have no customer first attitude at all. There were only two or three cars there so there was plenty of availability. He told me there were no places to stay in Lake George for anything but multiple nights but he clearly was speaking the company line and treated me like I have never stayed in Lake George before (we have stayed there off and on for over 30 years). The good news is we wont be staying there again and there are plenty of other options. What a shame.
