Just returned home from an absolutely awesome weekend at English Brook Cottages, Kevin, Laurie and their family were nothing short of amazing. Kevin greeted us with a warm welcome and we met Laurie and his family shortly after while enjoying some wine on the patio and a friendly game of basketball. They were absolutely wonderful to us we had great conversations and they treated us like we were a part of the family. They really make you feel welcomed and were very accommodating showing us where to park and giving us pointers on fun family activities. They have everything you need, grocery store out back, firewood at the main house for sale and tons of brochures to help in deciding what our plans were each day! They even let us check out later so we didn't have to feel rushed. Every year we try to visit Lake George at least once or twice and I can honestly say it was the best time and stay that we have ever had. 5 star by far! Our cabin was wonderful cozy with just enough space for the 4 of us or more! Accommodation were perfect, we stayed upstairs in Buckingham Palace the rooms were spotless updated and well kept. We had a full kitchen with a Keurig, K-cups cream and sugar to enjoy each morning. 4 beds (2 in each bedroom) Linens were clean & wonderful. Air conditioning was perfect for our 2 bedroom cottage. The cottage was simply amazing!. You can tell they have put a lot of their time into making this an incredible escape for everyone to enjoy! It's very close to town but also the perfect distance to feel like you're out of the hustle and bustle and can enjoy the wonderful ambience of the Adirondacks! Especially with their attention to detail, one of the first things we noticed was the beautiful well-kept landscape and the incredible crystal clear heated pool it was just awesome!!! We enjoyed relaxing evenings on our porch & patio listening to music, playing basketball and enjoying each other's company! We fell in love with every aspect of English Brook and are looking forward to our next stay & seeing Kevin Laurie & their family again very soon!…

Response from Laurie Zaneski, Owner at English Brook Cottages
Responded Aug 30, 2023
Thank you so much for your review Renee. We truly appreciate it. As the new owners, we strive to make our cottages a place families will want to return to every year. We were hoping all our little details make the place memorable. We enjoyed talking with you and your family .... I actually had to tell my husband and daughter, we need to let them go out and explore ... we have to stop talking, lol. It's families like yours that make this venture in our lives so worth it. We look forward to seeing you again. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Our stay was fantastic! When we first arrived and throughout our stay Ksenia was very kind and helpful. She attended to every request we had with a smile and pleasant attitude . Chris was kind and friendly. He talked with us as if we were old friends. Cabins and surroundings were clean and well kept. Close enough to all amenities but just out of the hustle and bustle of town. Overall a wonderful experience - will definitely be returning !

Our stay was incredible. Julian was accommodating and helpful. Our girls and dog had a lovely time. Remember that this is an old-fashioned cabin. The facility is low-tech; it has an outdoor grill, fire pit, lots of woods, a pool, and quiet hours. They provide firewood and charcoal. I loved it!

Showed up not knowing what to expect. Was staying only 2 nights. If you don’t mind staying in a cabin, then this place is very good. Julian the guy who does it all there was very accommodating and friendly. We had a dog with us and everything worked out great. Would look to get an even bigger cabin next time . Definitely have to reserve earlier next time.

Nice cottages in Lake George. It is a great location, walking distance or a very short drive to the Village. It has a nice pool, and basketball courts for children. The staff who work here are very nice, welcoming and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!

I booked this place for our weekend in Lake George on southwesthotels.com primarily because it billed itself as dog friendly. Their office had limited hours and I knew we'd be arriving after hours since we had to work on Friday and had a 4 hour drive. I found the contact us link on their website, emailed to arrange a late check-in and the owner, Chris, confirmed our late check-in and stated that they would be waiting for us. 2 days later, we were en route and about 30 minutes away when I received a call from Ted asking when we would be arriving. When I told him we were on our way and would be there in a half hour, he was rude and said "you should have let us know this." Um, I did. He was kinder when I informed him that I had emailed about a late check-in and that Chris had confirmed and was pleasant and apologized when we checked in. We stayed in cottage 3 with our dogs. It is tiny as another reviewer stated but I liked the privacy of having our own cottage. I don't know what those complaining about the size expect when they book a 1 bed cottage. Book a suite at a hotel if you're looking for luxury. The location is only 1 mile from the village. We plan on making our trip to Lake George with our dogs an annual thing and I would definitely consider staying here again.…

The location of the English Brook Cottages is convenient. They are in the woods with lots of shade but right on Route 9. You can hear the trucks, cars, motorcycles, etc. drive by day and night. There must be an airport nearby because we could hear airplanes flying overhead during the night. They were loud. They woke us up. We rented Cabin #3 (2 people/queen bed) It was very small. The windows don't open. They have air conditioners. There was no microwave even though it is listed on their website. The shower had good hot water but the water accumulated on the floor of the shower and took about 30 minutes to drain. The 2nd person to take a shower had to wait 30 minutes or the water would have overflowed into the rest of the small bathroom. There were a lot of bugs in the cabin the first few days (spiders, carpenter ants, bumble bee, moths, flies, other unidentifiable crawling insects) but it improved after I complained. The bed was terrible. The mattress sank in the middle. You had to grab the side of the mattress to pull yourself away from the middle but gravity would pull you back. Neither of us slept through the night for the 5 nights we stayed there. We both left there with neck and back pain from sleeping on that terrible mattress. We have stayed in other cabins around Lake George for a cheaper price. The higher prices at the English Brook Cottages are not worth it. We will not be staying at the English Brook Cottages again.…

Team ENGLISHBROOK is lucky to have Ted as the front man. We checked in late on friday night, Ted was half asleep, and still was able to make a smile and greet us like it was after his first cup of coffee in the morning. As the addage first impressions last, Teds effort came across clear and well recieved. It gave us the comfort needed to get our much needed sleep after the long three and a half hour ride up to lake george. As to be expected to follow up of the excellent first impression, the #14 cottage was jaw-dropping to say the least. The moment we recieved our keys, Chris (sorry if I did not get the spelling), gave us the VIP tour. Funny how simple statements make everything worth the while. He said the family upstairs from #14 were his close friends. I did not pay mind to it at the time. Anybody could have been upstairs and it would not make any difference what my opinion of the experience was. Long story short, the family upstairs from us was our downstairs neighbor from New York, same building one floor down. They had praises for their experience with English Brook and the team. Chris did not know the family was our neighbor, nor did he need to make a big fuzz about it, but he did and was the cherry on top the sundae! For the most part, I feel sorry if somebody else had a bad experience here. Theres nothing to say it might/might not be credible, but to them I would say, give team English Brook another shot. The next time you guys check in, it may be one of your best experiences yet. …

We had a great time here !!!! The place is absolutely wonderful. The cabins are great. The pool is great. The next time you're in Lake George book a beautiful cabin in the woods instead of the big hotels. Great for families and lots of fun nearby. Minutes from the town of Lake George and minutes from Bolton's landing. The owner Chris is a wonderful guy and we will be back soon 😘😘 Lois Leeds and Family
