We camp here each summer because of the kind campers and wonderful staff! Jill at the front office/store is knowledgeable about the area and went "out of her way" to find us a site at our "last minute" request to stay an extra week!! Don maintains the spotless bathroom and shower building each morning and they remain clean throughout the day. Paul and his crew maintain the grounds so that NO garbage is on the grounds, the flowers are very lovely and welcoming, and the natural beauty of the campground is preserved.
I came here solo this year and always felt safe to bike or walk anywhere in the park. There is a security person who drives around making sure the rules are followed at each site. The quiet times are enforced and campers are very respectful for those who retire before 11.
Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and more than happy to share camp stories, discuss their camper, or ask if I needed anything from their next trip to the store!!!
I would camp here again alone or with friends and feel very safe during the day or night. There is an adorable laundry cabin which is inexpensive, clean, and has books and magazines to share while you wait. The arcade room has ping pong, games, and a soda machine. There are always lots of kids here, which, for me, only adds to the overall charm of this campground. (Since I am a teacher and haven't seen my students since March, it was great to hear their laughter throughout the day.)
Overall, I came here for tranquility but enjoyed the overall camping experience of being "included" in The KPC community more than anyone would know.
Thank you!

King Phillips Campground always amazes me with how clean and well kept their campsites and showers/bathrooms always are. We were able to jump in the pool even after Labor Day (which almost all beaches close the day after Labor Day at lake George) We we’re able to meet a very nice employee named Don, who gave me extra reassurance on cleaning procedures during Covid. He was very friendly and I can’t believe how clean the bathroom and shower area were thanks to him! Keep up the good work, because the cleanliness is the main reason we pick this campsite every single time we come to Lake George. I also must comment on how friendly and nice both the seasonal as well as day to day campers were through the camp. Some even put up light displays at nighttime and my son and I really enjoyed our walks at night to see the “fireflies” that were really a light show someone put on. Very cool!

We stayed over Labor Day weekend in A12. It was a decent site but a little small for a 35ft travel trailer. It was a mostly level, gravel pad with a nice concrete fire pit. The fire pit threw back some nice heat on the chilly evenings. There is someone directly behind you with no privacy. Some of the other sites were on top of each other with even less privacy but it’s semi expected for a campground so close to Lake George. Pool was small but most people will travel to the lake. There was a nice bike path up the road maybe about 2 miles down to Lake George. It’s downhill the entire way so be ready for the uphill on the way back. It’s not too bad, you’ll earn s’mores for the day when you walk for sure! The playground was decent but some of the equipment was too big for kids. The campground was very clean, and the workers who drove around were very kind. I cannot say the same for the people who worked at the front desk. They were very short and not very helpful. You cannot request to be near another site, or at least they told us we couldn’t because people were placed in sites and couldn’t be moved. We found this odd because you cannot request a site so not sure why you can’t request sites close together and be put together. Second instance, we had called the Sunday morning to try to get lake checkout for Monday which was what the website said to do. When we called they said no because they had no availability and someone was pulling into the site as soon as check in was available. Understandable campgrounds are busy. Come to find out MANY surrounding sites were checking out that day as well, so many sites were open. Thought the people checking into our site could have been moved considering sites aren’t assigned until check in anyway. But either way, we didn’t give it too much thought at that point. Our friends who were camping there as well just got back to the campground to find out there is NO ONE in the site we were in at 6pm. A little frustrating considering we were ready to pay extra to hang out for a bit there. While the campground was decent, not much to do though, we wouldn’t stay again because of the customer service.

Being the only campground still open in mid October we decided to stay here. We did get a discount as many amenities were closed. One thing i did not like was , sas a first time customer you cannot choose your site. The site we got in area I was filled with mostly seasonal campers. Our site was very run down looking. We did get all the utilities water/electric/sewer/cable , which was nice. The park isnt bad overall ,but they have a lot of seasonal campers that look like hell. I mean some don't look like anyone has been there in years. It makes the park look trashy.
I also wasn't happy with some of the smaller bathroom/shower houses. They have barely enough light to see anything in there. Time to upgrade the lighting to something brighter! No mat outside the shower stall, so mud all over the floors to step in after your shower? no paper towel dispenser or electric hand dryers?
No shelf or stool to sit on or place your soap, towels, etc. Hardly any of the games in the arcade worked at all. we would go back again if we can make our choice on sites and the issues with bathrooms are fixed. and just a hint to the owners. ge rid of the trashy seasonals. its an eyesore

My husband called a few weeks in advance for a weeklong reservation in early leaf season. He spoke to Cassie and she could not have been more helpful and accommodating, ensuring that we not only got the best available rate, but a great site as well. We really enjoyed our week here. Location cannot be beat...close to Lake George Village and Queensbury but far enough away that its peaceful and relaxing. Our site was tucked away in the T loop. Generous and level site with all amenities. We loved the fire pit. Campground was clean and very quiet. Midweek as I was cooking dinner, my husband noticed we were low on propane. With a filling station on site, he ran down to the office. Mike and Cassie helped him out immediately, filling 2 tanks at a very reasonable rate. Great place to stay and can't recommend it enough if you're looking to explore the Lake George area.

We went opening weekend. We’ve stayed before and absolutely hated the sites, we got put over with the more run down RVs with no space who stay there but decided to go back because we did enjoy how easily the playground was to get too. We got a better site this year in terms of space, not in terms of the electric and water being on opposite sides of the site, the space was so small could barely fit our camper and our cars without being on top of the fire and where our camper was had so many big boulders underground and routes. What bothered me the most is for how much they charge their opening weekend they didn’t have the pool open and ready. It’s Memorial Day weekend and you guys didn’t plan for your own opening? They finally “opened” it mid Sunday and if you own a pool know it was no where ready to be opened and shouldn’t have been swam in. It was murky. Top was full of bugs. Couldn’t see the bottom. The pool wasn’t on at all. I heard an adult say the bottom was full of pinecones. Totally not safe. Not to mention women’s bathrooms have no garbages in the stalls to dispose of feminem products. You’ll have to walk outside the stalls in the public area to dispose of it by the door. We were surrounded by two groups camping together across each other who’d walk through the woods pretty much in our site everyday and Every single night they had a speaker about waist tall they’d have music blasting til past 1am. We couldn’t drown out the music with TVs or sound machines for the kids. And every night I’d wake up to them at 3:40-4:40am with them still outside being loud. For the money we pay, is anyone implementing rules? Don’t get me started on the golf carts going 30+ mph through the campground and no one saying anything. Just crap all around.

Our neighbor Don works at the campground and from our first meeting he was extraordinarily helpful. When we had some trouble with the cable he got maintenance right over to help walk us through. He was kind and shared his stockpile of wood with the kids and taught them to build their own fire too.

Overall we were pleased with our stay, the campground has a ton of shade and is really set up well.

We were family of 2. Motorhome, 35 feet. With tow car. Pleasure trip.

pro:

Quiet unless you get a barking dog or screaming child which we didn't have either. But down the road child screaming like crazy.
The permanent rv"s are mostly run down, old, unappealing site. Kind of so old they are creepy. Some permanent spots really well kept. One I saw could win an award.
We got a great spot.
Easy in and out.
Near Lake George town and Million Dollar Beach ( closed due to covid).
Sites grass and gravel.
Nice size spaces.
We had issue and maintenance came out fixed it literally in minutes.
Friendly people.
Pet friendly.
Most dog poop picked up.

Cons:

No masks worn...wait saw "one" in 5 day stay.
Some super ugly RV"s unkempt run down look abandoned.
Turn onto Bloody Pond Rd rundown spooky western town...ugly.
Our sewer connection uphill so it wouldn't drain properly.
Its not as close to some things we wanted which isn't their fault but made the stay complicated for us.
In town no masks no sanitizer Im guessing Lake George is immune to Covid.
You have to bring your trash to big bins by office.

Conclusion:

Most likely I wouldn't come back but mainly because there are so many rv campgrounds to experience I doubt I'd do any twice.
They offer nice deals with stay a certain # of days and a day free. That is very nice.

While traveling from California to Maine we were fortunate to be able to stay at King Phillips Campground in Lake George, New York over Labor Day last year.
The campground is a great place to stay if you want to enjoy the beauty and activities of upstate New York. Lake George is beautiful and offers numerous activities for everyone.
The campground and staff itself are wonderful. We could not have asked for a better stay at a nicer place. There are some folks who leave their rigs there all summer and come up every weekend. I have been in other parks where you feel like an outsider when this occurs…. NOT HERE. Everyone, staff and clientele were wonderful.
We had the additional complication of having had reservations but had to cancel mid trip due to a death in the family. Once we determined that we should continue with our plans we called King Phillips knowing that we would be lucky to get a few days but hoped to get Labor Day weekend. Sam, the manager was extremely understanding and helpful. He did what he could to get us in and treated us wonderfully. When we needed an extra weekend due to the pandemic requirements before moving on to another state, he found us a site at another park.
I cannot praise the staff and the quality of this park enough. I cannot wait to return there in the future.

I had a few days off from work, and we decided to go to Lake George for a long weekend (first time away for this front line worker since Covid started). We love to camp, and I fell in love with King Phillips Campground the minute I saw it. We had electrical and water hook up, the bathrooms/showers were immaculate, the store had everything we needed (even my new comfy hoodie!), and the grounds management were some the nicest and most accommodating people! We had a secluded, woodsy campsite with a fire pit (fire wood can be purchased at the store) and picnic table that fit out little camper perfectly! We can’t wait time back and this will be the only campground we come to! Highly recommended!
