I was tent-camping for the week and rain sent me scrambling for a motel. I called and got a room for 1 night. Reasonable price. The owner was very welcoming and accomodating. I was there around 9am to book it, and although that was too early to get in my room...they let me stay parked there so it saved me... More

Room was clean with flat screen TVs. A lot of the rooms have been remodeled and are very nice. Owners are very nice people. They have a place where you can cook outside with picnic table. There is a fire pit to sit by a fire or children to toast Marshmallows. You can walk to Lake George beach or village...

Pros: Clean room. Super friendly staff. Relatively low price. Location very close to beach and bike path - we could hop on the bike path right from the hotel without ever riding on the busy main drag. Very quiet (our room was around the back). Yes, the walls are thin but the other guests kept their TVs pretty quiet so... More

I wish that there was a way to give less than 1 star. The staff was not very welcoming and the room that we were given had a VERY musty smell, was small, and when you turned on the water, it took almost 15 seconds for the water to run clear due to rust buildup in the pipes. Run away,... More

We loved our weekend here at the doray! Great value for the price. Loved walking to town (wear sneakers!) close to all and convenient. The owners are so friendly and accommodating we will definitely be back!

The room we took was not worth the price. It was very small and stuffed with a lot of furniture. We felt cheated when we first looked at the room. After accommodating 2 queen beds, there was only a little space to just stand in the room.

I had an early morning meeting in Lake George and needed somewhere to stay for one night. In the summer most Lake George hotels are expensive and many require multiple night stays. I figured I would stay at the Doray Motel because compared to other Lake George properties it is cheap. It was a very basic old-fashioned motel room with... More

Last time I visited Lake George, NY was about 20 years ago and my my.... how things have changed!!! Lake George is sooo much more of a tourist trap and commercialized than it used to be. They certainly do not make it inviting by the need to have buckets of quarters at your disposal just to park anywhere. It is... More

The Doray has a lot of potential as a charming little 50's style motel. The owners are courteous and friendly. I would love to stay when the place is up to snuff. It falls a bit short when it comes to updating for now, though. Repairs seem to be the minimal - the outdoor steps up to the rooms 14-16... More
