The four of us booked this resort and stayed July 2020 for one week. Checked in at 3pm on a Saturday. Owners Craig and Annie were pleasant and very accommodating. We booked the boathouse. It had two bedrooms, living room area , small kitchen with a table for four. TV included. Bathroom had a stand up shower. Very Clean. We had 3 window air conditioning units. The beds were very comfortable, you bring your own sheets and bedding supplies. We brought with us 3 coolers of food and drinks. We had a refrigerator and electric stove also. Private small beach to share with resort guest only, chairs and picnic table included. We brought our own beach chairs just in case. Live entertainment on Tuesdays and Thursdays out by the firepit on the beach area. Very nice, we sat on our balcony and could hear and see everything nicely. Throughout our stay, Annie check on us to make sure we were comfortable and if we needed anything. We were able to fish from the dock of our boathouse. I caught a large mouth bass about 5-8 lbs. AMAZING, lots of sunnys and baby large mouth bass also. We definetly fish catch and release. There is a bait store at the end of the road. I just used worms. They supply bath towels and toilet paper, you bring everything else. free internet. Highly recommend this resort. My friend is taking her sister in October for 4 days. we were able to do daily excursions throughout Lake George and Bolton.

Absolutely love this place. Been coming here for 10 years in a row. The best views on the lake, very laid back atmosphere. Craig, Annie and Max are super friendly and accommodating. Beautiful beach, gas grills throughout the property and campfires on the beach at night. A great way to recharge the batteries. We'll be coming back for many more years.

The Antigua Resort at Plum Point Lake George is located in an idyllic area on the opposite side of Lake George Village. It was quiet, clean and the view of our "Lookout" room was breathtaking. The rooms/buildings are dated, and really could use updates in paint, fixtures and carpet. There was no remote for the tv. The bathroom was clean but dated. The bed however, was a total nightmare. The sheets were old and pilled, rough and worn. The bed itself in our room was a small full, and plywood was tucked between the boxspring and mattress making for an uncomfortable night's sleep. There was a disgusting old yellowed couch next to the bed that could pull out to a bed, but it smelled like urine and we dared not go near it. Needless to say, our first night was tearful and sleepless. We had to go to Walmart to get pillows and memory foam to put on the bed to be able to complete our 2 night stay or lose our $161.00. The next night was better with the pillows, but the walls were so thin you could hear people talking and the tv all night. We enjoyed the bonfire, and we watched the fireworks from the observation deck. We were disappointed about the fact that there was no housekeeping, and the only service we received was a portable heater. No shampoo, no extra pillows, no "thank you for your stay"...very cold and unfriendly owners. We would not recommend this place as a romantic getaway. We left with aching backs.

This resort is in a lovely location and while our lakeside 5 unit was clean and well appointed the beds (all 3) were so bad we left early to avoid having to sleep there another night. Sleepless nights and back pain is not my idea of a great vacation. Your better off finding another place. By the way, when I handed the owner the room key and said we were leaving early he never asked why or if we enjoyed our stay. Poor management.

My family booked a week at the Boathouse on Feb 25th 2014 for the summer of 2014. The website states the following:
The Antigua Resort Boathouse features include:
•Knotty pine paneling throughout
•Full kitchen
•Two bedrooms: The Master bedroom has a Queen bed with a covered lake view balcony, the second bedroom has one full size bed and one single bed
•Pull-out sofa in the living room

When we booked this my wife, myself, my two 6 yr old daughters and baby son were going to stay the week, and being local we planned on my sister and brother-in-law joining us for two days on the advertised pull out couch. When I called a few weeks later on March 15th, to ask Craig about the parking for my sister and brother-in-law for two days, he told me that they could not stay on the pull out couch as there was not room for them and they would have to rent an efficiency apartment for a minimum of three nights if they wanted to stay. We had already paid $2800 for the boathouse for a week and would not pay another $555 for the efficiency apartement so I asked to have our reservation cancelled, as we were not allowed to use the pull out couch. Craig responded via voicemail stating, and I quote ,"We are running a business here" and he told me they are keeping 20% of my $2800, or $560 for their trouble. I paid over the phone via credit card and was never told of a cancellation policy, not to mention the misadvertisement of the use of the pull out couch, and to top it off I was cancelling only 19 days after I booked, a full four and a half months before the date of the vacation. I am still fighting with him to get my $560 back. So, in closing, I would say that it may be a very nice place to stay, but make sure you know exactly what you are getting and I hope you have a good trip. My family paid $560 of my hard earned dollars to have the privilege of NOT being able to stay at this resort.

It's a shame the owners of this property do not make the effort and investment to make this a really nice resort property. The property has a nice location on the shore of Lake George, with a quaint little beach. However, the rooms are shoddy as well as the overall impression. For example, there are no true "beds," just extremely soft, saggy mattresses - I couldn't sleep on them and resorted to sleeping on the floor to get a night's rest! Plus, the ceiling was falling down in parts and stained. The plumbing is lousy, and the room overall was damp, moldy and musty such that my children woke up coughing violently every morning we were there! They have a nice fire pit that is going every nights but the chairs you sit on are old frayed plastic weaved chairs, falling apart. They installed a new "playset" last year, but it too is low budget with dirt and sand underneath - with a little extra TLC and investment, they could have installed a nice swingset with mulch underneath, and maybe even a flower or two, which is not to be seen anywhere on this property. Overall impression is poor, totally NOT WORTH IT, given the cost of this place, and I would advise finding somewhere else to spend your money where the owners actually seem to care about the comfort of their patrons and appearance of their property.

Stayed here last year with the wife. When we got to the front office to check in what do I see laying on the front desk unattended? The credit card details I had given the staff a week before. Written out on paper with the expiration date as well.
Needless to say, within hours of checking in my credit card - the one mentioned above - was maxed out, and not by me. Spent quite a bit of time with my credit card company trying to rectify the situation which eventually worked out to my benefit. But to leave 'cc details on the front desk, written out on paper for all the world to see?
Bad news. The place was nice with a great view of the Lake but having your credit card details taken and then used fraudulently kind of takes away from what might have been a good time.
The rooms were very clean as were the grounds.

Response from CBrownAntigua, Owner at Antigua Resort On Plum Point
Responded Feb 25, 2016
Please tell the TRUTH ! Yes the customers information was left out on the private part of our front office desk. The guest must have walked around the desk and into our private space and noticed his registration info. Later after checking in the guest came to our office and said someone had been using his card fraudulently. We immediately checked with our credit card processor and verified that no suspicious charges came through on our end. The guest later came to our office and informed us that the problem had been resolved and that the suspicious charges had NOTHING TO DO WITH US. We have updated our security protocols to insure that all of our guests personal information is secure. To accuse us that someone at our Resort stole a guests credit card info and used it fraudulently is Absurd!

We stayed at this hotel for Labor Day weekend 2014. We truly enjoyed the location and grounds. However, we first met the owner a few hours after checking in when we went to ask for help for two kids who were stranded on a canoe on the lake. During the 20 minutes encounter, his only concern was that he didn't realize that we had a guest on site and that we "NEED TO COME TO THE OFFICE NOW TO PAY FOR THE GUEST" - Not one word about the safety of the stranded kids. In the end, another guest, helped out with the stranded kids. The owner just kept on reiterating over and over that we "NEED TO COME TO THE OFFICE NOW TO PAY FOR THE GUEST" (which we did right after I made sure that the kids were OK). The other sad thing about this issue is that I also told the lady who checked us in about the extra person. So it was their fault that they didn't charge us the extra fee right during the check in. I would be sadder about this incident if there were not SO MANY other places in the area ready to welcome ALL types of visitors.

Response from CBrownAntigua, Owner at Antigua Resort On Plum Point
Responded Jun 3, 2015
We have read this review and believe there is some misinformation. Here at the Antigua Resort we pride ourselves on not overcrowding our rooms and grounds and above all the safety of our guests is paramount. This guests reserved a room for 4 people and checked in with 6 people and only told us about one extra person. Shortly after the guest came to the office to sign out the canoes and we were assured they were experienced paddlers . For safety reasons we only let out our free canoes to experienced paddlers during calm conditions here on 32 mile long Lake George. Shortly thereafter we were alerted to a commotion on the lake and soon realized the guests were clueless about paddling a canoe. I personally came right to the Lake shore and assisted the guests back to the canoe ramp and aided in preventing what could have been a catastrophe.

Gorgeous lake view, wonderful amenities, you can sit on your private deck overlooking the lake or you can join others on the property, grill (even a gas grill), park your boat -- I mean everything you could possibly want is all here on this idyllic lakefront location....sans pillows. I WANT to give this place a five star rating because everything was just as picture perfect as it could be even on an iffy weather weekend, but it just escapes me why they don't upgrade the bedding. These pillows (one each) were so pancake flat so your head was at such an unnatural angle, you might as well sleep with your head hanging off the edge of the bed. I, literally, got up and ran to the nearest Walmart Superstore and BOUGHT more pillows that I really don't need at home, so I could sleep here. I really don't want to take too much away from such a lovely place, so I won't harp on it, but you better listen to me if you stay here. All the guests were complaining about it, so I am not just some lunatic that wants to slam these wonderful proprietors. As a matter of fact, quite the contrary. I wish they would read this and decide it's time to upgrade the pillows, mattresses and bedding. It's positively the only thing this wonderful oasis from the "real" world needs. I would absolutely give it a 5 star rating if I got a better night's sleep.

Having experienced numerous accommodations on and around Lake George for the past 40 years, we recently tried Antigua for the first time. Antigua sits on Plum point, arguably one of the best northern views of the lake anywhere on its 32 miles. It is a million dollar view to the north and the property is close to everything. Our selected "suite" was The Plum. A room that is on the 2nd story of an older - large mansion that is the center of attention on the property. The owners have cleverly converted any available space within this house into income producing "suites" and in fact, many of the accommodations throughout the property have been modified and converted for maximum profit to the owners and as an attempt to provide guests with the amenities desired. The "Plum' is accessed via a rather creepy side stairway that also services 3 other suites on the same floor in the main building. Once atop the stairs, you enter a narrow hallway filled with the sounds of other guests within very close proximity and the aromas of their cooking. However, once inside the "Plum" the deck overlooking the lake and the room itself are quit private and the sounds of other guests, although noticeable, was bearable. The room itself is very basic in appointments: minimal cooking facilities/equipment, older-unusual kitchen/bathroom pattern, very basic and "tired" mattress with no headboard, dated decor and worn furnishings and basic, older mom & pop appointments. Certainly, no luxury "resort" features here. A rather expensive, yet unusual and different experience in a grand location on the lake. If you're thinking Hilton type resort, this is not for you, but an open mind and some tolerance for an over priced "suite" can make an enjoyable stay. The owners are nice enough and they seem to care, albeit as much about profit as guest satisfaction.
