Went from Lusaka to Kariba for a day trip with a quick visit to the dam wall and then went for lunch, very doable as it takes 3 hours easy driving.Good food and service, lovely place, specially for families with kids, fantastic swimming pool area.

I went to Lake Kariba I’m with hopes of getting some rest and relaxation and all we got was noise from several construction works. the Room was spacious and the bathrooms were lovely a. the mirrors were a favorite. The lovely pool side (advertised on their pages) that was a big determining factor for my place of stay, was under construction and the lodge could pause this during breakfast time so there was dust and noise during our morning breakfast, annoying. We couldn't have other meals in the restaurant, just room service and the food was good. What was the most annoying thing was none of this was communicated when making the booking and no charges were reduced to compensate this inconvenience. The alternative pool had old outdated furniture with holes. The only saving grace was that the views were amazing.

I've been here a few times now and they are constantly upgrading and making improvements. The food is wonderful. Their meringue chocolate cups are particularly delicious. The pools are so nice - makes it feel like a tropical paradise. Was such a nice place to chill out and relax. I much enjoyed my room compared to the older villas that I use to stay. Staff were really nice - a huge improvement in service although still some junior folk around struggling a bit but in general fewer mistakes and much better service. Dalington was particularly suberb!! Breakfast was excellent. A really lovely place to stay and I hope to be back. Keep improving - you are doing a great job. Weekends get quite busy. It gets quite hot at the lower pool during the day and there isn't a lot of shade although the parasols do help.

Hi Julie Thank you for your review, we are trying hard to better our service and facilities and your comments encourage us to do better. We are currently still renovating to hotel so we hope you will notice these on your next visit. We have just renovated the top pool which has come out really well and the lower pool is on the cards and will defiantly sort out more shaded areas. Many thanks and hope to see you again soon.

My partner and I arrived for a one night stay at Lake kariba inns in the afternoon. The reception was fine and we quickly went to the bar to have a drink. It was then that we realised that there was serious conduction going on. The main pool was being demolished. There was work going on constantly. The other pool was fine but lacking the same view that we would have had from the main pool. It was disappointing and we felt like we should at least been given a heads up from the receiption or an email ahead of time. When we inquired about the other 2 pools on the property, a staff member told us that they were not worth it. Still, we enjoyed the afternoon with nice and affordable cocktails. We had arrived just after the sunset cruise took off. It was quite affordable and we wished we had made it in time, though we were provided with plenty other options that weren't too pricey. We ultimately decided that since it was our only night there we would just relax and enjoy all that the property had to offer. At dinner, we shared the butchers platter which was plenty for 2 and quite nice. The desserts we ordered were not at the expected standard and we did not eat them. Our waitress seemed to be more afraid of management which seemed to stop her from providing excellent service and rectifying mistakes due to miscommunication. Our room had an enormous and comfortable bed, excellent air-conditioning, and a lovely shower. There was a tea and coffee station and a refrigerator. It was one of those rooms you never want to leave when on holiday. The next morning we arrived at a beautiful breakfast buffet with an abundance of food. Unfortunately the construction was going on loudly, but my partner learned from a manager that they were trying to have it ready for the Easter weekend (we can't wait to come back to check it out). We spent some more time by the pool and then walked around the property. There are beautiful views from all over and we highly recommend going for a walk. The gym facilities are also nice with views as well. We didn't get to use the tennis or squash courts but hope to next time. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and will be back in the future.

The hotel has a decent restaurant and bar reception. However, all else seems to be a total mess as the check in style is via whatsapp which is handled by 2 or more persons which had us checked in the wrong room but management refused to accept this error (didn’t take our complaint into consideration.) The lady at the marina shop did not smile or say thank you after we paid for a sunset boat cruise. It was as though when she did that it was a mere favor to us. Then came the boat cruise which was to start at 4pm but only started at 4:30 without explanation but from the look of things the delay was caused by the drinks coming to the boat late. The hotel has a lot of polishing in service to do.
