We stayed here because it was the cheapest accommodation at the kite spot but at 35 euro per person per night it is still extremely over priced. Accommodation is very basic but reasonably comfortable. Don't expect hot showers and electricity. Food is good for meat eaters but if you are vegetarian you are paying for potato and beans every night. Unfortunately I am rating this poorly because, not being French speakers, we were made to feel very unwelcome. The manager was very rude and made no effort to make us feel welcome even going so far as not providing a vegetarian meal on the last night which he thought was very funny. It is the only accommodation where you must walk across the road to the lagoon and the 'rescue boat service' is basically non existent - in the water sometimes but very seldom manned. During our stay some of the staff disappeared and the facilities were not cleaned, yuck. We are world travellers, on the road for 2 years now and are really not fussy about standards... More

We stayed their for 2 weeks with a friend in July 2011 and didn't regret it ! For kitesurfers, the place is only a few hundred meters from the north end (flat part) of the lagoon. Great welcome from Sahrawi. Just follow their pace and in a few days, you'll completely forget the rest of the world. A unique dish is served on the big table for everybody to gather around and share moments of the day, talk about the next downwind...Food quality is way enough even for big sports activity.
You'll sleep in tents or in bungalows, with candles for light and comfortable beds. The toilets and shower are primary but honestly it's fine, and don't forget that to have a shower in the desert is exceptional. In the must try list, definitely the night in the desert, downwinds to the oyster spot, full moon ride and enjoy every evening with Sahrawis, they're always up to party and make each moment of the day perfect.
