This eclectic B&B will always be a memorable stay for us. Each room has luxurious mattresses and sheets, along with Bvlgari lotion and toiletries to use. The main building is a comfortable place to hang out, and is filled with interesting art and collections from the owner, Michael. Michael prepared totally delicious breakfasts for us each morning, and was not...

This is not your typical B&B and I mean this in a good way. The B&B is actually spread out among several buildings. Our room was right off of the kitchen and it was very quiet and comfortable, Tempurpedic mattresses. The main building is filled with lots of quirky and fascinating items (menus of famous restaurants, mementos of the owner's...

This September (2015), my wife and 20 month old stayed for 3 nights in the Zebra Room. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. They were beyond tasteful. Common spaces were adorned with gems, fossils, art, ironwork, and history, each placed with meaning you could feel. The grounds are spectacular, and the food was amazing. Chef and Owner, Michael Casper...

This is a one of a kind hotel in the Finger Lakes. A true place to relax and recharge your spirits. But you also have luxuries like a super comfortable bed, high-end bath products and a huge bathtub to sink into if you're lucky to be staying upstairs in the main lodge. Michael is a wonderful host and will do...

The rooms, common space, land and meditation room are incredible. Michael is a delightful and hospitable host who can cook up a delicious breakfast of your preference. We met and chatted with interesting guests while there as well.

We had another wonderful stay at the Private Hotel and Pure Food during our trip to visit our daughter. Michael is such great host who has created a very unique hotel that is very relaxing. This is the perfect place to stay when escaping from the rat race back home.

Thoroughly enjoyed having wonderful breakfasts, chilling out on the property and walking around to investigate its various nooks and crannies. Large and wooded with plenty to keep you interested. I've heard the Blue Room's great.

We spent two nights in the "Gables" room and had a wonderful time. Michael is a fantastic host, a great conversationalist, and a superb chef. The property is exceptionally private and beautiful with large open areas. On our second evening there the sky was clear and we looked up to see millions of stars and the milky way stretched across...

Loved the entire barn, including the upstairs suite. The French French toast was incredibly good, as was the excellent coffee. And Michael was gracious about our quirky schedule. Finally, my 18 year old daughter and I both very much enjoyed speaking with him. Terrific stay, all around!

This was one of the most relaxing vacation stays that we have experienced. There are separate buildings on the property (which is 115 wooded acres) with one or two rooms each, very well furnished with amazingly comfortable mattresses. Michael's breakfasts were delicious and he was extremely accommodating of food allergies and requests. I would absolutely return again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Michael Casper, an entrepreneurial hotelier and restaurateur, recently opened Private Hotel and Pure Food. This unique, small boutique hotel, with chef's private kitchen, is tucked away in the countryside just outside downtown Ithaca. Fusing post, beam, pole, log and contemporary architecture, the newly opened hotel has received rave reviews for its sensitive and sophisticated style. The common areas are comfortable and homey, accented by Michael’s sense of whimsy. A chef in his own right, Michael creates and prepares a unique menu comprised of organic and vegan ingredients that are primarily locally grown and harvested. An ecclectic combination of rustic and refined, sophisticated and casual, modern yet remote, Private Hotel and Pure Food appeals to the discerning individual who desires high end appointments, the finest in bedding and linen, and the world’s freshest and healthiest food ... all provided in a serene, tranquil environment. ... more   less
