Certificate of Excellence
The award winning William Henry Miller Inn is located in the heart of downtown Ithaca. Built by Cornell University's first architecture student, the details are stunning--chestnut woodwork, Tiffany stained glass, original shutters. Our full breakfast features all homemade breads, homemade English Muffins and bagels accompanied by homemade jams. Our evening dessert buffet is the perfect way to end the day. We are happy to accommodate dietary requests. Within walking distance of fifty restaurants, Cornell University, Cascadilla Gorge and just a short hop to Ithaca College, we are really central to everything. Providing concierge service and a business center, parking is right on site. Parking and wireless are included in the rate. Proud to be a member of Select Registry and Lynnette Scofield received the Innkeeper of the Year Award by Select Registry.

My husband and I were looking for a getaway within driving distance. We wanted to take our dog (60lb Golden Retriever) with us and were lucky enough to find a room at the William Henry Miller Inn. The staff was incredible from start to end. Each morning we’d wake up to a fresh delicious breakfast with both savory and sweet selections. After busy days of hiking and visiting wineries we came back to yummy desserts each evening. We were blown away by the delicious food and the fact that everyone was so welcoming to our pet. We want to thank the entire staff for making us feel at home and for being prepared and practicing appropriate precautions in light of COVID. We can’t wait to come back.

Traveled to Ithaca NY from PA for a weekend away during the Covid-19 virus as restrictions were being lifted. Innkeeper Amy did an amazing job of arranging a no contact check-in and check-out, breakfast with social distancing in place and a very clean environment. The Retreat was our room up on the 3rd floor featuring a large bedroom, with a four poster bed, soda in the sitting area, small desk with chair for writing or computer work and a large bathroom. Room and bath were very clean, bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. The Inn is only a few blocks from the Ithaca downtown area with many restaurants, coffee cafes and small shops offering limited visiting. Breakfast was pure vegetarian for us both as Amy created an amazing Tofu Scramble for us with potatoes, toast and fresh coffee. Each afternoon we were treated to a homemade dessert from Amy. Nice surprise. Inn is also very close to Cornell University that has a beautiful botanic garden to tour. Multiple state parks are also close making for an active get away. Wonderful Inn and a fantastic location.

Booked a getaway during covid-19 . Innkeeper was amazing. Had precautions in place to maintain social distancing while still making it feel like home. Provided a list of options for places to eat and a directory for close waterfalls. Short walk to everything while keeping a quiet vacation type atmosphere. She delivered contactless absolutely delicious breakfast and desserts each day and sent a text when they were outside the door. We stayed in the garner suite . Located in the carriage house behind the inn. It was a beautiful space. Comfortable bed, Linens and blankets were soft and cozy. Bathroom was huge with a double vanity and a 2 person jacuzzi. Luxury towels and robes provided. Highly recommend this hidden gem . Can’t wait until we are covid-19 free and everything can open safely . Looking forward to meeting Amy again then. I foresee this being our date weekend getaway for a long time ❤️

Thanks to Amy for our wonderful one-night stay during the Covid-19 situation. She had excellent social distancing practices, and has adapted well to the challenges that the pandemic has brought. We stayed in a charming carriage house suite, with an extra room for our adult daughter and a spacious & luxurious bathroom. Amy messaged us ahead of time and stayed in constant contact via text during our stay. She provided a list of walkable restaurants for takeout food, left delicious evening desserts outside & wine glasses inside our suite and had cold drinks in our mini refrigerator. The lilacs and other flowers in the yard were at their peak, making the Inn even more beautiful. Our highlight was breakfast, which Amy provided on the Inn's front porch, after asking us our location preference. She adapted my husband's portion of breakfast to his low-carb diet. We had arranged our meal time via text, and it was waiting on the front porch when we walked up. Delicious items included ricotta/blueberry pancakes, mini grapefruit yogurt muffins, home fries & scrambled eggs with cheddar. Amy was knowledgeable about the many waterfalls in and near Ithaca, enabling us to enjoy more social distancing in the beautiful outdoors. Cornell University is within walking distance.

My wife and I were on a road trip around New York State and New England. We booked to stay here for three nights after a recommendation from friends. We were greeted very warmly by Amy the innkeeper when we arrived and were allocated our room. We had a nice room on the second floor overlooking the front garden. The bedroom was huge and we had a large bathroom. It was very comfortable. The Inn has some lovely Architecture and some really nice features. We really enjoyed our breakfasts and the staff were really friendly and first class! Amy gave us some great tips for where we could have dinner on an evening. Thanks again Amy! We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s ideally located for walking into town or to the Farmers Market. We would love to return!
