We are a family of four in Philadelphia and this is our family vacation. We love the peace of the farm, it is beautiful. My son remembers this farm as his favorite place, running behind the cottage, picking berries, picking vegetables, feeding the chickens, and riding Mike the pony. We cherish our memories and intend to return over and over.

My husband and I had an excellent stay at Rosebarb Farm. Host Barbara and Don truly made us feel at home. They are such a delightful couple that we wish we could have stayed much longer. We loved everything about the farm: the fresh organic produce; the star gazing and outside fire; the egg collecting among others. Most outstanding though were Rita and Don's hospitality and the comfortable cabin. Rita was full of recommendations with things to do during our entire stay and boy was she right on mark on all her recommendations. We are grateful for this little piece of heaven and we hope that everone who comes here enjoys it as much as we did.

Our family had the opportunity to stay on the Rosebarb Farm and I cannot say enough about how amazing our stay was. The breakfast on the first morning was so delicious and it was lovely spending time with Don and Rita and getting a tour of the farm. The kids loved the pool and the pony ride. The view was breathtaking (made me wonder why I ever moved away from Upstate NY). The location was convenient to various destinations (waterfalls, downtown Ithaca, Geneva, local breweries/wineries).The house was perfect for our family! Thank you!!!

We have visited Rosebarb Farm a few times over the years and each time we leave more grateful than ever to have found such a wonderful place and extraordinary people. Don and Rita are so welcoming, kind, and generous; that spirit is alive all over their beautiful farm. The cottage is always pristine, and extremely comfortable. Breakfast is absolutely delicious every time, with homemade, farm-fresh fare that makes us consider leaving our home in NYC every time. Don and Rita know their community well, and can offer tons of suggestions for activities, shopping, leisure, anything you'd want to do in the Ithaca area. Their attention to detail and their true desire for guests of all ages to feel welcomed are clear at every moment. Just being at Rosebarb will make you breathe deeper and easier. Rosebarb Farm is a true gem!

Driving up from NYC, my husband and I visited again in mid-September. It was our third (fourth?) stay at wonderful Rosebarb Farm, but it was our first time in summery weather (fall is equally gorgeous) Green and lush, flowers were everywhere. Because the weather was so nice we were invited to ride in the back of a horse-driven wagon with Don Barber at the reins and Rita riding shotgun. We sat on bales of hay while taking in the sounds of clopping hooves and jangling harnesses and breathing in the fresh country air. What a treat. You won’t find nicer people than hosts Don snd Rita. Comfy, private, and quiet, with views galore, the cottage truly feels like home. Instead of an alarm, a rooster will awaken you to an exceptional sky (see photo below). With each visit, we have found more places to explore. This time the highlight was Montezuma Wildlife Refuge, at the top of Lake Cayuga. Observing the beauty of nature is a welcome slow-down. A walk through Sapsucker Woods at the Cornell University Ornithology Center is a must. On the day we arrived, there was a raptor show in the visitor center (see photo below). There are so many places to see, so many waterfalls, the Fingerlakes Cider House in Interlaken, Ithaca Farmers Market on the weekend, and all of them are an hour or less drive from the cottage. The campus of Cornell is beautiful and a must-see, with a first class art museum and stunning cathedral. It is also great to stay put on the farm. Pet the sweet horses, hang with the entertaining chickens and turkies, pick raspberries and grapes, or pass the afternoon sitting or reading in the gazebo and watching the sun go down. One evening, we sat around the firepit, sharing stories, was a delight. Rosebarb Farm is a unique experience you won’t find anywhere else.
