This lovely old stone house is much larger than it appears from outside. It has gorgeous wide plank floors and is nicely furnished with antiques. Simon greeted us and showed us around the property, pointing out amenities as well as displays of artifacts found during the house's renovation. He brought us to our room, The Geographers Room, which is tucked... More

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your stay. We think you're reviewing the Art of Painting room (and we think you're referring to Sam - there's no Simon here!) as that's the only one with a carpet and we're happy to say that it's being replaced next week. It's not that old, but it did stretch the... More

I booked this B&B for my husband's birthday after reading excellent reviews. Unfortunately, I wasn't as impressed as the reviewers before me. We stayed in the Geographer and our room was small and sparse and it looked slightly run down. The property was beautiful but we didn't really have a good view of the river. The most disappointing part was... More

We stayed in the Geographer room and were wowed by all the special touches. The room was in a part of the house from the 1700s, very simple and comfortable. Nice bath - we loved the wood floors. It takes quite a bit of TLC to keep an old house looking so clean and fresh. We found it fun &... More

Beautiful romantic getaway for Valentines day! Our room had authentic interior design from 1700's. Amazing attention to details: organic toiletries, home made soap that the owners do themselves! Delicious organic coffee any time of the day. Beautiful antique plates, vintage silverware, no plastic! Sam, the owner will make gluten free vegetarian / vegan options for breakfast! He is attentive and... More

My wife and I just had a wonderful experience at the Stone House B & B. Our host Sam was extremely pleasant and suggested some great restaurants for us to dine at. The room was actually what we had hoped for as this is a 300 year old house. Very comfortable and homey. The breakfast were excellent. Close to a... More

The Stone House Bed and Breakfast could not be more pleasant. The building itself is charming and inviting (although be aware that it definitely has the creaks and sounds that one should expect in a house of advanced age). We stayed in the "Girl With A Pearl Earring" room and the room was spacious with a huge and comfortable bed.... More

I was at the Stone House for five days. I sure felt like I was "home" the entire time. From the king bed and the mound of feather pillows to the fresh flowers on the windowsill. There was an electric space heater in the corner if I needed it for these cold December nights. Sam is a very gracious host... More

We decided to have a brief weekend trip, during the autumn foliage season. After finding this inn on tripadvisor, we were happy to see that they had availability for the "Geographer" room. Stonehouse B&B dates from the 1600's (we have never stayed anywhere remotely that old!). The floorboards were huge planks, there were curios on display that were found in... More

The Stone House is a lovely B&B in Hurley New York, about a 25 min drive from Woodstock (where my husband and I spent most of our time). We wanted a nice, quiet weekend away from the city, and that is exactly what we received from this B&B. The Stone House is in great condition- very cozy with coffee and... More
