We saw three rooms in the entire castle. It was definitely not worth the 25 dollars. If you really want to get a feel of the castle, then attend the Gatsby parties that they have in the summer. Otherwise, you are essentially paying to see a catering hall.

As you drive up the statue-lined driveway into the large cobblestone parking area - you rapidly think you drove through a wormhole out of Long Island and into a French countryside! My wife and I stay at Oheka whenever we are on Long Island and it never disappoints. A true luxury experience incomparable to any modern hotels as it is...

I purchased this on Groupon for my girlfriend and it was all worth it. The castle was restored to perfection down to the minute detail and is an example of what the Gold Coast once was. The food and drinks were delicious and the staff very friendly. The owner, Gary Melius, even makes rounds during dinner time to talk to...

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at OHEKA. We have looked into the circumstances detailed in your review and understand that unfortunately the receipt left for the drinks after your first visit to the bar was not signed so they could not be charged to your room. This was, I'm sure, an innocent...

My husband and I went to Oheka Castle for our Anniversary. The wait staff was extremely attentive and helpful. As an appetizer we had the lobster meatballs which were delicious but the seafood bisque that was served as a dipping sauce needed more flavor. My husband had the veal saltimbocca which was spectacular. The best he's ever had. For dessert...

If you are looking for something unique this is a good choice. You can enjoy the quiet rooms at the castle and In warmer weather walk the grounds. The larger rooms have sitting areas. There aren't ice machines, just call the desk and they will send it up. Breakfast is included with your stay.

Second time there, first time was perfect, this time not even close to perfect. Room was very nice even though our little window would overlook the roof... there was a party in one of the ballroom and of course lucky us it was right under our room, we heard the loud music until about 12am, then when the music stopped...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
OHEKA CASTLE is a majestic historic mansion located on Long Island's famed Gold Coast between New York City and The Hamptons. This French-style chateau is the second largest private residence in America and has undergone $30 million in restoration to transform this stately home back to its former 1920's grandeur. OHEKA is listed on the National Register for Historic Places and boasts 32 luxuriously appointed guestrooms and suites on the upper floors where guests can sleep like royalty. Guests can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the beautiful formal gardens designed by the Olmsted Brothers, take a mansion tour and learn about the rich history of OHEKA and Otto Kahn, or dine in the OHEKA Bar and Restaurant before retiring to your uniquely designed guestroom for an in-room massage. Breathtakingly beautiful, OHEKA CASTLE is admired around the world as a premier venue for exquisite weddings and gala celebrations and has been the backdrop to many prominent film and photo productions. The refined European atmosphere and the feeling of being transported back in time to the decadence of the Roaring Twenties consistently gives OHEKA the recognition as America's Grandest Castle. ... more   less
