What a rude staff at the bar and restaurant. Greeted with a "you need to wait until I'm ready" didn't seem too necessary, but hey it was only a holiday weekend. Headed over to Jagerberg beer hall which I would highly recommend. Our waitress offered to take a picture of our group lollll

I have stayed here many times. Recently I had a rez and I asked to change it. I was told that was fine. A new date was confirmed for later this month and I thought nothing more about it. I was then contacted and told that sorry, there had been a mistake, that the hotel had been bought out for the week my rez fell in and they would give me a credit. I had no other immediate plans to visit and I said ok, but in this case I would rather have my money refunded. They refused and got very belligerent. I said hang on, I had moved my reservation, you had confirmed this by email and now as you are cancelling this I feel this is unfair and in violation of my rights. They agreed to refund and then called and in a very cold and rude and horribly condescending manner said they would now no longer accept any reservation I made, that I was banned. DO NOT STAY HERE - IT IS A LOVELY PROPERTY BUT THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABUSIVE AND IVE NEVER BEEN TREATED THIS BADLY BY A HOTEL ... THEY DONT NEED TO WORRY I WOULD NEVER GO NEAR THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN

I got very sick right before to my stay and was not able to go. They refused to give me a refund because it was too close the to stay date. I didn’t know I was going to be sick any sooner?!? Now I have credits that I’ll never use… great…

This place is nice, but it did not live up to its $500+/night pricetag. We stayed here before in 2018 and really liked it, but this trip had some disappointments, including the room. We had a king with a deck. The bed was not very comfortable; the air conditioning unit is directly opposite the head of the bed, so the person sleeping on that side has air conditioning blown directly into their face during the night. The hall area where you store your clothes has no light, so it's impossible to see what you've packed. The single curtain over the window keeps out all the light, so there's no way to have some privacy in the room and also have some of the beautiful scenery or light come through. The bathroom was really small and there were two very basic, not at all luxurious towels. (The bath products did smell good and were nice and there were two nice terry robes.) It's a Four Seasons pricetag, but the thoughtfulness of the room is more like a Sheraton. There was also loud music played by the pool from 10 AM - 6 or 7 PM. Clearly some people like that and think it adds to the vibe, but for us, we just wanted to sit by the pool and read and enjoy the beautiful scenery and the loud music was a real downer.

Can’t speak for how SCL is in the winter, but we visited in August 2023 for a family trip with our two dogs. There was a little bit of confusion with the way we booked our multiple rooms, so there only ended up being dog treats in one room instead of two, but it wasn’t a big deal. They still provided enough toys and treats and bowls for both dogs, which was very much appreciated. All three rooms were mountain-facing with a balcony, which was really great, especially when the west deck got a little crowded or if we just wanted a quiet place to sit. My partner and dog and I stayed in the king room with a loft, which was awesome. The room was spacious as was the second-level loft—there was plenty of room by the foot of the bed to fit our pup’s large bed. There was also a working fireplace that we didn’t use as much because summer (lol), but I imagine it comes in handy in the winter. The activities were a bit lacking in variety, but we were rarely bored! The pool got crowded early but it wasn’t too much of a struggle to find a chair or bed to lay on. I appreciated the towels and sunscreen provided, but the towels ran out while I was there, which was a tad inconvenient. We only had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, Prospect, and it was delicious if not a bit pricey. The waitstaff there were always super attentive and friendly. Service was pretty quick and the food was good! Front desk staff were also super helpful allowing us to store our pup’s wet food in their fridge (no mini fridges in the rooms). I do wish they were a little friendlier/warmer, but they were still helpful.

I had heard good things about Scribners and was excited to stay there. Unfortunately it was a major disappointment. The front desk staff were totally unhelpful -- could not make restaurant recommendations, could not even help with reservations at the restaurant in the hotel, and looked at me like I was crazy for asking for help with getting a large suitcase up to my room. Then there was the room itself -- looks good in pictures but totally uncomfortable. Thin walls where we could hear everything next door. Noise from the lobby below filtering into the room all night. One of the two beds in the room was about 6 inches from the HVAC system with an unmovable vent blowing air right at eye level the whole night. Nice sheets but low quality pillows and mattresses. Tiny bathroom with no room to put your things. If the price had been half what it was, I might have accepted these issues but at the prices they are charging everything should have been better.

Great experience. Lovely little escape! I loved the feel of this hotel and the view of the mountain was very special. It’s cozy and beautiful and just a great escape for a city dweller. Library was well-stocked with unique reads. The food was fantastic and the people in the restaurant were really knowledgeable about the food. Fantastic stay all around!
