I want to thank the amazing staff at Scribners and the Prospect restaurant for being so kind, safe and thoughtful this past weekend, and allowing my husband and me to have a long-delayed baby moon even during the Covid crisis. I never saw a single staff member unmasked during our stay, and our fellow guests were also very respectful and careful. The restaurant is delicious and we were able to eat all our meals outdoors. Sanitizer was everywhere and we were never forced to be within 6 feet of any other guests. The pool was a delight. Swimming while gazing at the mountains was the most wonderful luxury during such a hard time. They even sanitize the board games between uses. Overall it’s impressive how they’ve managed to build a safe experience and manage some of the awkward moments that come up during this time of social distancing. Bed was very comfortable and toiletries high quality. Only slight critique is that the room could use some TLC for the price point — repaint where there are water stains on wall and ceiling; put umbrellas on the room decks so they’re usable in the hot sun; modernize the look of the bathrooms. But this didn’t detract from a great weekend. Thank you again!

Came with my son after being isolated for so long. Warm welcome from staff who made us feel safe. Restaurant has beautiful deck for drinks and dinning. Again staff was outstanding. Great pool and spectacular sunsets around the fire pit. Highly recommend to recharge your mental outlook.

My father and I very much enjoyed a wonderful getaway at Scribner's in early July. The hotel has gone to great precautions to open safely with social distancing and masks required in public areas. The beautiful pool was open with spaced seating and limited people. Even with masks, we enjoyed hanging out in the richly-appointed lobby/library of the hotel. We also had three outstanding meals at the hotel's restaurant Prospect, which uses fresh produce and herbs grown in a garden on the property. Our room was spacious with a bedroom area, lounge, loft space with two additional beds, and large terrace facing Hunter Mountain. When we arrived in our room, we were treated to a bottle of cider, apples, and ingredients to make s'mores at one of the outdoor fireplaces. The staff were also terrific and really went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Overall, a wonderful place!

I have to say, traveling at this time is tricky, but after being cooped up in our Williamsburg apartment, fresh air was needed. We went to scribners lodge on an anniversary escape and it was one of the best trips I have ever had in my life. I work in hotels and have pilots in the family, so I’m privileged to get away often. The warmth of the staff was above and beyond. The grounds were captivating and immaculately clean. They have visibly ingrained enhanced cleaning and healthy measures into their hotel, with practices like temperature checks and sanitizer stations. For example, amenities are scheduled to use, like the sauna, etc. We had no problem securing time slots. The restaurant food is such a treat, blows out of the water most Brooklyn staples. I recommend touring their garden, which was my favorite part and is pushed back on the parking lot on the grounds. Scribners Lodge is the image of what post-COVID travel will be. A big thank you to the staff, you have no idea how much you made our days with your bright smiles behind the masks. Can’t wait to be back!
