Excellent, and the location is perfect. Staff mostly are friendly. The problem is that some of the rooms do not even have proper ventilation, forget about windows. I would stay in this hotel again, provided they give me a better room. Was very easy to locate the hotel.

We booked this hotel for three nights for our stay in Queretaro. We chose the hotel because of location (we wanted the downtown area), previous reviews and price. The cab driver had no problem finding the hotel from the bus station but walking along the narrow street it could be somewhat hard to spot. There is a small lobby area. The hotel was expecting us and had our room ready (the hotel was not really too busy). Staff spoke virtually no English but we were able to manage quite well with our limited Spanish. We walked to most of the sights in the downtown area. Restaurants and bars are close at hand as is shopping. Our room was spacious with a nice bathroom. Linens and towels were good. The bed was comfortable. It took a while for the hot water but not inordinately long. The room faced the courtyard but since there was not a lot of customers, this did not create a problem. There are other rooms upstairs but we were on the main level. The room was quiet at night. WIFI signal was good. The room was made up each day and the staff did a good job. We needed to check-out early for a bus departure and the staff were accomodating and helpful. We have at least one suggestion - it would be good if they offered coffee or tea in the morning. The nearest cafe to pick up a coffee was a couple of blocks - others closer did not open until later in the morning. Also getting in and out of the property was a bit of a hassle - you sort of got locked in and had to have the front desk staff open the door for you. This was not really a problem as there was 24 hour front staff but it was a bit unusual. We would certainly consider this property again.

Hello all Travelers. DO NOT stay at this property. The hotel and staff are terrible, with the exception of Fanny and Itzel. The rest are awful. GM Angel is the worst hotel staff ever hired at this location. I stayed there 2 weeks ago and his attention was the worst ever. When I asked the housekeeper why the sheets were dirty, she said that is what they are being told to do???? If I could give this property a minus star, I would -10.

Located on a narrow, nondescript street, Kuku Ruku was hard for the taxi to find, but he asked around and we eventually got there from the bus station--maybe a 10-15 minute ride if the driver had known the street. Check-in was supposed to be guaranteed late by Expedia, but when I arrived, they said they thought I'd be a no-show, and I'm glad they didn't give the room away, as I was too tired to find another place. I was taken swiftly to my room, and my first impression was, cute! because of the platform bed and contemporary art on the walls, and the stylish bathroom fixtures. However, the carpet is thin and drab, so I didn't want to go barefoot. And within seconds my eyes started watering and my nose running from the overpowering scent of the deoderizer disk that I found hanging next to the toilet. I put it outside the window, where the smell still seeped into the room, but I was able to breathe again. The bed was very comfortable, and the sheets were clean, but I wasn't sure about the spread, so I rolled it down. In my room (main floor, all the way to the back, on the right), there was no power outlet by the bed, so I had to plug my cell phone charger in on the opposite wall, meaning I couldn't lie in bed and talk or check emails. That was kind of a pain, but I read a book instead, and the overhead light was good for that. One very strange thing was that my room had a door going out to a courtyard. I was curious where the door led to, and when I opened it, I couldn't see well in the dark, and realized there was no way to lock the door, but it appeared another room's window (or door?) also led to that courtyard. Even though a high wall surrounded the courtyard, as a woman alone in the room and unable to reach my cell phone quickly since it was across the room, by that door, I felt vulnerable. So I shut the door and jammed a chair under the handle, and then I felt secure enough to sleep. I wish the hotel staff would have mentioned the door and opened it for me when they brought me to the room, as I probably would have asked for a different room just to feel safe. In the light of day, it was nice to step out into the courtyard! I loved the decor in the bathroom--chocolate colored tile and a sink that was basically a tilted piece of slate, not a bowl. But when I ran the water, it quickly spread to the edge and splashed over. So I had to keep the water to just a trickle when washing my face. Nice idea for a decorator magazine, but not terribly practical. The shower was good--plenty of hot water, and I like the kind of soap they give you. In the morning, I went out to the charming front courtyard for breakfast, which I had pre-paid through Expedia as part of a package deal, and they tried to charge me. It took a few minutes for them to figure out that I was telling the truth when I said it was pre-paid. After that they were very nice and the breakfast was delicious: café de olla (sweet coffee with cinnamon), fresh fruit, and enchiladas verdes con pollo, mmm! (They offer a choice but I don't recall what the other choices were.) Overall it was a good experience at the hotel. Not sure I'd make reservations through Expedia again because there was clearly a communication breakdown there.

We went to a wedding in Queretaro, and decided to stay here. We arrived very late and the staff was very friendly. When we woke up and got out of our room to have our complimentary breakfast we saw the small hotel. It was beautiful, very clean and very detail oriented. Our room was ok, with two problems, the door has crystal which lets too much light to get in very early in the morning, and the staff that circled through the hallways was very noisy. Besides from that we loved this place, and the breakfast was awesome. The location is perfect also!
