This was the first time my family and I had traveled to Africa. We spent 4 nights here. From the moment we arrived via private plane from Lusaka, we were greeted with such warmth, kindness, and attention, that I actually thought we were the only...More
Thatched tents were very nice but the highlights of staying at the Royal Zambezi were the staff, which could not have been nicer, and the activities. One can go on game drives, walks, canoeing, and fishing. Flying in an out on the charter flight was...More
This was my favorite spot of our two-week excursion of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Zambia. The staff was very friendly, pleasant, professional, and accommodating. The setting on the river is unbelievable. I was in one of the larger tents (with additional outside tub, shower,...More
This place has it all. From the moment you arrive, greeted by your choice of fresh juice or sherry, to the moment you check out, your stay is well managed. We took advantage of several game drives, one at night that was particularly fantastic, as...More

On the website it mentions a cultural village visit, but there is no pricing information. What does it cost? Is it offered when a group is staying there? (I'll be with an Odysseys Unlimited group in September.) Also, is it safe to drink the water here or do I need to get bottled water. Do you sell it?

We were not made aware of the cultural village during our stay in July, 2015. Perhaps it wasn't available then. We did visit the school. It was very heart warming and informative. The children were so happy to see us. The memory of visiting them has lived on with us. The price was free, but we were given an opportunity by the Lodge to make a donation to the school afterwards.....which we gladly did. Also, we had no problems with the availability of drinking water. I don't remember if we drank bottled water or not, but whichever it was, we never wanted for anything. The resort is as fine a resort as we've ever stayed in. We found the service staff, the accommodations and the food to be outstanding. Truly 5 star. Enjoy your stay.
