This was the first stop on our honeymoon, and it was completely perfect in every way. Martin the manager went out of his way to make us feel completely spoilt, with little daily surprises like a bush dinner, or lunch on the river. The food was fantastic, and in plentiful supply!

I thought the lodge was warm and outstanding for meeting and mingling with others on our tour. The staff was friendly, very helpful, and our accommodations were very nice. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. The guides were very good in teaching us about the

This was the fourth of our stops on the UW Alumni Association sponsored Odysseys International trip. The Royal Zambezi is in a class of its own. I imagine most if not all the guests arrive by airplane provided by the Royal Zambezi Charter Company, a great introduction in

My wife and I were a part of the motley crowd of 30 people that spent 2 nights at the Royal Zambezi Lodge last week on an exciting fishing expedition. The list of compliments are endless, but I would highlight a few that remarkably stood out. • Despite being vegetarians, the

I'm back from my trip. The Cultural Village is offered in the mornings (minimum of 2 participants). It becomes your morning activity, so you do miss a game drive or other activity. However, it is a nice ride up the river and back to get to the village. I was unable to go because no one wanted to join me and I was traveling alone. I've heard it's a wonderful experience. Odysseys used to include the cultural village when they had 4 nights at the Lodge. Not sure why the staff doesn't know or say anything about it now.... Our guide did know about it, but only mentioned it because I asked.

Good day. Thank you for contacting Royal Zambezi Lodge. We have paper necklaces made by our village, the ladies group is called Wakasimba. The snare wire range is made by a company called Mulberry Mongoose, feel free to check out their website. Please let us know what dates you are coming, perhaps we could arrange a Chitenge for you alternatively you can find them at the airport opposite the Royal air charters office price ranging between $12-$20. Let us know how we could accomodate you. :-) Regards RZL Management

Good day. Thank you for contacting Royal Zambezi Lodge. We are glad that you are considering the cultural village visit, as most of our previous guest found it to be a Humbling/life changing experience. The cultural village visit cost $50 per person, which a large portion of those funds are donated for the upliftment of the community and it is a 30-45 minute boat trip to the village. The water that we provide is clean drinking water but we take extra precaution by filtering our water for guests to enjoy. We hope we have assisted you in answering all of your questions accurately. Feel free to ask us any other question via TripAdvisor or Facebook. We look forward to seeing you soon! Regards RZL Management

"We were in tent 7 near main lodge and was very nice."
"Room 8 is on the kitchen side of the common area so it was a little noisy,"
"Choose a room at a higher level to get a panoramic view of River Zambezi"
"We were in 7, which shares an outdoor lounge with 6. These units are close to the lodge but further from the river than others."
"Avoid the remote rooms. One of our party was repeatedly forgotten and had to take a long walk unescorted."
