We were fortunate to spend 4 nights at Chindeni Bushcamp. The wildlife is abundant and stunning. James our guide has a great knowledge of Flora and Fauna and we were privileged to spend time with him on a fully day game safaris with Vernon spotting brilliantly for us. We would like to say thank you to Courtney, the host and her team at Chindeni for an exceptional experience.

This is one of the best experiences I have had in Africa. An incredibly hospitable and knowledgeable team - a wonderful camp manager (Jacob) - an abundance of bird life, and other flora and fauna. Bushwalks that allowed us to be right 'in' Africa - breathing in the quietness and serenity of the vast spaces, feeling the warmth of the sun and soil ... I really will carry the memories of this trip with me for my whole life and hope to come back and visit again ... thank you

My 2nd bushcamp during my October stay and spent 3 nights here. Beautiful room, all of them overlooking the river. Incredible birdlife right outside your balcony, and we even had a big elephant come right through - so beautiful. The location is great, and the rooms are such luxury. There is no air conditioning or wifi which i think is perfect for really feeling africa and getting away from it all. The staff are all amazing. Peter is the most amazing guide as well as just the loveliest, friendliest person. So lovely to all sit together for meals, especially dinner to chat about the amazing game drive viewings. The food is beautiful especially the gourmet 3 course dinner with lovely wines. Saw the most amazing wildlife on the game drives. Everyone is so attentive to your needs there. The big common area is the most lovely place to relax in between game drives, otherwise your private balcony - just beautiful. I cannot fault this place. And if you are doing Mfuwe Lodge which is a bit bigger, i definitely recommend to spend time in the smaller more remote bushcamps. I did 3 nights each in 2 different ones, and that is a perfect way to really wind down but feel like a family there. Thankyou all for the most amazing experience. And i must mention how you meet such interesting lovely other travellers. I so hope to return

I have been to the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia several times. I frequently stay at the Bushcamp properties; Chindeni being one of them. I have never been disappointed. This is not a hotel. It is a small private camp that can accommodate 8 guests. It provides a true bush experience in a luxurious manner. It has 4 en suite tented chalets. Each has a stunning view of a lagoon that is frequented by a variety of game. Rooms are serviced several times a day by friendly staff. Food is excellent - they are very attentive to special dietary needs. Laundry is done daily and is included. There is no internet connectivity or cell service - you truly get away from it all. The guides are excellent. Wildlife viewing is as good as it gets (see African wild dog photo below). I have taken award winning photos in this area. Game drives are in well maintained Land Rovers. The vehicles can hold up to 9 guests but I have never had more than 6, often it is only our group of 2 or 4. A unique feature of Chindeni and the other Bushcamps is the walking safari. You can even hike (with a guide and scout) from one camp to another. On a walking safari the game tends to be shy and runs off. What you do get is in-depth knowledge of the bush including everything you ever wanted to know about scat All in all a great location at a fair price.

We waited 4 years to come back to Chindeni. I lost my heart here then and I have left it there again unitl i can come back. It is an extraordinary place. There is nothing like watching the sun come up over the lagoon from your private terrace and seeing flocks of pelicans coast up and down amid the maribou stork and saddle billed stork. Eagles glide overhead and yellow canaries hop in the trees shading our tent. Elephants wonder through camp before the evening drive and we are treated to delicious cakes and treats at every turn - bush pizza was a lovely surprise and great fun. The wildlife is abundant and stunning in every direction. We were delighted to meet Peter again and privileged to spend time with him on drives and walking safaris with Vernon spotting brilliantly for us. Spending time with Peter is deeply informative from ecosystems to global climate change to tracking and dung. We hope we can remember half of what we he shared with us during our short visit. And we will be counting the days until we can come back. Thank you to Peter and his entire team at Chindeni for an exceptional experience.
