Beautiful tented bushcamp with excellent tents and great food. We were extremely well looked after by all camp staff. Located on the Luangwa river the landscape, bush and wildlife were excellent. Guide James' knowledge of land, water, bush, and wildlife is extensive and he is a great storyteller. Many many wildlife highlights but specific mention of leopards (my favourite) and...

We stayed at Chamilandu Camp for 2 nights at the start of our Bushcamp Company experience. Everything was great from our guide Gilbert, our accommodation, the delicious food and friendly and helpful hosts. A very good introduction to South Luangwa National Park

The best views, the best open-sided rooms with stargazing capabilities in the bathroom, the best chef and delicious foods of all types, the most friendly staff, amazing animal sightings and fantastic guiding - Chamilandu has it all! This was my fourth stay at Chami and I keep going back because it simply is the best camp and experience I've had...

Chamilandu is a luxury African Safari bush camp that accommodates only 6 guests at a time in three raised chalets facing the Luangwa River. The common areas for dining are open air as are the beautifully decorated chalets. The camp has excellent management, staff, and wildlife guiding for the sole purpose of providing the best possible experience for Safari guests....

My husband and I had the amazing opportunity to stay 3 nights at this beautiful lodge on the Luangwa river. The accommodation was breathtaking: open air luxury chalet that was roomy with a lovely outdoor shower. Words can't explain the lovely sound of falling asleep surrounded by wildlife. The staff at the camp was beyond expectations and the food was...

I was incredibly fortunate to stay at the Chamilandu camp for 2 nights - bookending a truly wonderful week at various Bushcamp lodges. Straight away I was struck by the very warm welcome given by ALL of the staff. The accomodation was incredibly comfortable and luxurious and the food delicious - very welcome after an exciting day of wildlife spotting....

Our beautiful room - one of only three at this camp - was open onto the river, with a large open-air bathroom and shower. The bed was comfortable and we slept well each night. The food was good, and the staff were always available and ready to help. The emphasis in the morning is on walking safaris - although we...

I visited Chamilandu as part of a quick getaway in July. It was my first time at one of the Bushcamp Company's camps, and I have to say, definitely not the last! With open fronted chalets, you have a wonderful view out across the wilderness, with animals both in front of the chalets, and even coming through camp on occasion!...

We stayed at four of the Bushcamp companies lodges and Chamilandu was definitively our favorite. First of all our guide there, James, was exceptional. As a matter of fact I would choose the camp he is at if I go again, regardless of what camp he is working at since they do switch camps. He was interesting and engaging to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
There’s nothing quite like waking up at The Bushcamp Company's Chamilandu. Early morning views don’t get much better – the rippling waters of the Luangwa River, the gentle rise of the Chindeni Hills and a vast African sky especially when you’re lying in a four poster bed in a stilted tree-house. Camp can accommodate up to six guests in three raised tree-houses and offers guided walking safaris, plus day and night game drives (open from June to November). ... more   less
