Words are not enough to explain the amazing experiences offered by this small, but intimate bush camp. Chamilandu is a very rustic and unique safari camp in one of the most beautiful places in the world and has the most professional staff who will look after your every need. James and Ty are expempilary managers that have a strong respect...

We stayed for only one night in this exclusive fantastic camp. More staff than the 6 guests it will take. It's on the river with wide views from private decks. This is a prime location with fantastic attention to detail. We loved the staff, the camp, the game drives, the dining, the attention. Everything. These guys are so professional. Hard...

There are only 3 rooms at Chamilandu and we had two, so the camp felt like a private reserve. Our guide, James, gave us 3 days of perfect introduction to Zambia. His love for the country and the natural environment infected us immediately. I had been to Botswana (twice), SA and Zimbabwe, and loved them all for the land, the...

Two nights at Chamilandu and we can endorse all the positive comments made about this camp, the accommodation and scenery, the meals and supporting services. Fantastic viewing of lion, leopard, hyena, giraffe and elephant to name but just a few. We really enjoyed the tracking skills demonstration on the walking safari and even deduced a porcupine having passed earlier in...

I went here to specifically sight Wild Dogs. Unfortunately a few days earlier I was informed they had moved away from the area due to lions. The wildlife here I thought was sparse although I was fortunate to have a leopard sighting and a nomadic male lion sighting. There was one out of eight safaris which was very fruitful! The...

Thank you for your feedback. As you know, game-viewing is never guaranteed, and we hope that you appreciate that wild animals do move about. It is well known that wild dogs have an extremely large territory and can be very elusive when weaning puppies. I believe you saw two leopards on one drive and two male lions on another. I...

We stayed at this bush camp for a couple of nights as part of our Zambian holiday. The camp is tastefully decorated, very confortable and gives you the opportunity to be away from it all surrounded by amazing wildlife. The food is fantastic, the host Tay is wonderful and the guide James is incredibly knowledgeable about the local flora and...

We stayed here for two nights. Our room, which overlooked the almost dry river, was enormous and very comfortable. We had some great game viewing with James, who was very knowledgeable. We did one walking safari and the rest of the time we were in a Land Rover. There are only three rooms here, so it is very quiet. Ty,...

My wife and I stayed at Chamilandu Bush Camp and had the whole camp to ourselves the entire stay, 3 days, 2 nights, even though July is high season. Add to this that we did not encounter ONE other car and did not even see another tourist during all of our drives and walks, and you should understand that this...

Chamilandu was the last of the bush camps at which I stayed before spending my final day with the Bushcamp Company at Mfuwe Lodge. Again, another superb location alongside a river bank with beautiful views of the Chindeni Hills. I have run out of adjectives to describe Chamilandu as it is of the same luxurious standard of Bili and Chini...

My clients and I had a wonderful 3 days at Chamilandu. As anywhere in South Luangwa, the game viewing was amazing, especially leopards. The staff was excellent, the food wonderful, and the accommodations luxurious (though I would recommend guests not close the sliding doors that face the river). The guide, James, was extremely knowledgeable and showed exceptional ethics around wildlife;...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
There’s nothing quite like waking up at The Bushcamp Company's Chamilandu. Early morning views don’t get much better – the rippling waters of the Luangwa River, the gentle rise of the Chindeni Hills and a vast African sky especially when you’re lying in a four poster bed in a stilted tree-house. Camp can accommodate up to six guests in three raised tree-houses and offers guided walking safaris, plus day and night game drives (open from June to November). ... more   less
