We decided to stay the night here as it seemed the only option for a stopover between Lilongwe to Lusaka, but it was not a nice place to spend a night. The view from the bar and pool area are beautiful and the owner was very friendly to us. Those were the good parts. But the chalet was not. Extremely... More

We visited as a group of 16 world challenge students/leaders from the UK. Bridge camp provides good facilities for self catering campers - kitchen and cooking area, water tap, flush toilets, hot showers, communal bar/seating area, pool, fire area and dining room. Games and books provided for use by guests and access to electrical charging points all make for a... More

Completely enjoyed the stay here. Simple campground with clean and enjoyably rustic ablutions that camp tenders always had a fire going to have hot water. Could use an extra rubbish bin or so in the campground. Staff was very friendly and the location excellent except being right on the road. The road is very quiet and no traffic at night... More

A truly awesome setting on the Luangwa River. Will, the owner, is helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The chalets are very basic but if you speak to the staff they will ensure you have hot water. The ablutions for the campsite need some TLC but again you can arrange hot water if you negotiate with the staff. A great... More

I travel quite often between Lusaka and Chipata and always stop here for lunch as it is one of the best places for a proper meal in an excellent setting. The menu is limited but well prepared. It is run in a very relaxed manner, wonderful views! The only other good place to stop is the Chimwemwe Lodge in Petauke... More

This place is also known as the Zambian "Fawlty Towers". I can't think of any reason to stay here accept that it's the only place to stay in this area between Lusaka and Chipata. There's nothing to do in the surroundings. The place itself is old, not well kept and the owners (though friendly enough) don't seem to like their... More

A very special spot in the hills next to the river. A spectacular view over the Luangwa River and the surroundings. Clear swimming pool water from where you can spy on the afternoon river activities. This is really a place to turn off the cell phone and let GOD the rest.

We overnight at Bridge camp during August and was pleasantly surprised at this establishment. It is well located when on route to Chipata. Dinner and breakfast on request and the food was good. Lovely views over the river and also a pool for those hot days. The rondavels are basic but clean with mosquito nets. Thanks to Doughnut for making... More

We stayed in the A frame chalet which was nice, clean and spacious for the 6 of us (3 adults and 3 kids under 11). The poolside bar and pool were very comfortable (and clean) and the food was nice too. Drinks and food were a bit pricey but not outrageous, especially given the remoteness of the location. I could... More

Exceeded my expectations. The view is great, camping is reasonably priced. The lounge areas are comfortable and the pool is the cleanest I have seen while traveling Africa the past three months. Recommended break on the long drive between south luangwe and lusaka.
