This was a lovely place to stay. The hospitality and welcome from the staff were incomparable. The atmosphere very old time colonial. The bush drives were good. We saw just about everything, especially leopards and lions, and the special treat was lunch in the bush. The rooms were nice and kept clean. The food was good. What more is there...

Chichele Presidential Lodge is excellent - both the location deep within the park plus the services offered. The entire team is extremely friendly. Game drives are amazing (no shortage of animals) and the views from the lodge, set on a hill, are wonderful. The rooms are huge, clean, and well appointed. Food was excellent. The A/C was a welcome reprieve...

Killian and his staff went out of their way to make this weekend exceptional. The lodge is magnificent, the rooms are luxurious, the food was great. Our safari guides...

Located on top of a hill and over looking a valley and the Luwangwa river, you are on higher ground, giving you 180deg view. Its an interesting view, looking down on a number of species meandering their way around the valley. In the distance you can see ivory palm trees as well as the river. you can spend a few...

The lodge was fantastic with a great location deep within the park - so it does not have more than a couple of neighbours and there was very little of the wacky races style safari experience when everyone chases after a bemused looking leopard. The location is on top of a hill within the park, so you can see the...

We stayed at 5 Sanctuary camps during a recent vacation in Botswana and Zambia. This was probably the best and it was an exceptional experience. The wildlife is awesome. The resort is not responsible for life that is, well, wild, but we saw all the main animals and quite a lot more we did not anticipate, including wild dogs and...

We’ve stayed at this lodge a couple times and I just can’t get enough, it’s beautiful, its perfect, its everything we want when we go on safari. It’s all about location location, location and the amazing staff. The lodge is located inside the park away from the busy Mfuwe main area with spectacular views of the Chindeni Hills in the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sanctuary Chichele Presidential Lodge was originally built for Kenneth Kaunda, the former Zambian president, in the 1970s. This historic property was recently carefully restored to maintain the original colonial style. A majestic arched entrance leads you into a huge colonial-style lounge and outside the grand dining room, a long veranda stretches with views down the valley to the Luangwa River. The main area features a comfortable lounge, intimate fireplace and bar area. In keeping with the grand colonial style of the lodge, the suites are decorated in the same understated elegance of years gone by. In the ten Victorian-style rooms, the large French windows offer a light, airy feel to the suites and open onto private terraces overlooking the valley - the ideal vantage point to relax and enjoy the wildlife. Air-conditioning, plush furnishings, a four-poster bed, and a luxurious bathroom can make you forget you're in the bush. The lodge also features an interconnecting room - perfect for families. ... more   less
