Spent 3 nights in this awesome lodge! The location is amazing - right at the Luangwa river and really in the middle of nature! The perfect place for a "time-out" from the daily hassle and the busy city. Staff was super friendly, very welcoming and very professional! Food was extraordinary - very, tasty, very creative and done with lots of passion. The rooms are beautifully done, very clean and with a lot of attention to detail. I truly enjoyed the tranquility, the incredible nature and the great hospitality! I am pretty sure that this was NOT my first and last stay! :-) I will come back!

This is a magical place, enhanced by the beautiful accommodation, the amazing setting, the wildlife, the fine dining and the staff. Irene was our waitress and she really looked after us. Joe was our safari guide and he was totally in tune with the animals, he seemed to know what they were thinking and what they were going to do next. We had two amazing nights here but I wish I could have stayed for a week. Definitely visit if you can.

Dear FarAway... , thank you very much for your wonderful feedback and the time you took to write it. Especially the mention of our staff - I passed it on directly. :-) The overwhelming feedback from our guests makes us seriously consider adding a small but exclusive bush camp so that it makes even more sense to enjoy our hospitality for at least a week or even 10 days. So we are looking forward to welcoming you next year! :-) Kindest regards on behalf of the entire team! Jens

Carol and I stayed at Chikunto for 6 nights. Having been to the South Luangwa for many years and stayed at various lodges situated both in and outside of the park, Chikunto's location makes for quick access to either north or south areas of the park. The abundance and variety of wildlife that is presented to you immediately starting the game drive are awesome! A big shout out to the staff, incredibly friendly and welcoming. It took a few hours before we felt like part of the family! Meals created by Irene in the kitchen are inspiring - the chilled soups at lunch were probably my favorite given the temperature was 47 degrees C. The tented suites are extremely comfortable with plenty of room and height. Josephat, our jovial guide has over 20 years of experience and is incredibly knowledgeable, our game drives were epic and inspirational. I must not forget to mention Harry our spotter on the night drives - here is a young man with a sense of humor and quick wit that we will remember until our return. What makes for a sublime and intimate experience - Attention to detail and remarkable people, Chikunto has this in Spades! All run on solar power! Counting the days for our return. Daniel & Carol Banister.

Dear Carol and Daniel, It was an absolute pleasure for us to be able to accommodate you in our lodge. My team and I are very proud of our project in South Luangwa, especially when we see how our idea and the way we have implemented it meets or even exceeds the expectations of our guests in terms of comfort and service quality. Daniel, I am particularly happy that your expectations of wilderness and wildlife were obviously met and that you were able to take some wonderful photos. I remember our email exchange about this before your arrival. :-) Please share them with us if possible! I think it goes without saying that we would all be very happy to see you again soon. Kindest regards Jens and the team

We stayed at a Chikunto over an extended weekend. This was a little paradise in the middle of wildness. If there were six star ratings, it would be exactly what it felt like. From start it was easy to book and communicate. While many lodges closed during COVID19 Chikunto kept open and also paid staff salaries. Staff are well worth it. Such a great detail to attention. Friendly, welcoming, ready to please with a smile. The amount of effort to train staff and bring them to the level of a luxury class hotel pays off incredibly. The restaurant/food was superb. Could qualify for Michelin star restaurant for sure. Presentation, Taste and quality - beyond expectations. The whole place qualifies for luxury class hotel with the exception that it is small (4-5 tents) and cozy. It really makes you feel special. So more of a boutique luxury venue- with a personal care. Coincidence or not: but this was the trip we have also seen the most animals as well. Our Guide Paul was very attentive to needs, good sense of humor and very caring. Never made us tired, although the drives could be up to 5 hrs! Pool spot is amazing - with the view to the river and the animals who were wandering around. All in all- there is nothing that could be added to this- fantastic place. Highly recommended.

Dear Lilia, wow what an overwhelming rating! These are the confirmations that show us that we are on the right track. I am most proud of the fact that we have succeeded in showing the world what the locals can do. With education, training and respectful interaction, they are capable of the highest level of guidance. Chikunto is a family and each of our guests becomes part of it upon arrival. Many thanks for being with us in these difficult times for our industry. Warmest regards Jens
