We had a wonderful week there. Accommodation is spectacular romantic and all thatched. Wild dogs lions etc and great food and fishing There are also hot springs for a real relaxing evening with full bar and catering services. A must do

Our family and friends made a trip this month to Hippo Lodge in Kafue National park. We were a large group of almost 30 and booked the whole lodge out for 4 nights. We had a memorable time fishing, game viewing, boat cruising and just palin relaxing in the quiet and serene environment. We were lucky to see the Lions...

We were privileged to be the only guests when we stayed here for 3 nights. A beautiful chalet right near the river bank, we enjoyed the rock-pool bath! Our hosts were warm and welcoming, and the food was excellent. Our guide, John and his colleagues took us on many bush drives and a river trip. Their knowledge and expertise were...

After a long drive on bumpy roads we were rather tired and also disappointed of Kafue National Park. But when we arrived at Hippo Lodge our mood changed immediately. What a friendly welcome by the managers Clive and Jo and the staff! The pretty chalets direct on the bank of Kafue river, delicious food- everything home made! You can prepare...

Love the tented accommodation but the chalets are also ideal. Great get away from the city with very limited connection to the outside world. Not for the first timer to Africa looking to tick off the 'big' game list but for the experienced traveler looking for a more personal experience.

We've been coming for years and we love it! Stunning location, beautifully built chalets, friendly staff, fishing with Agri and so on. And what a pleasure to meet Jo and Clive, the new managers, who could not have been more hospitable. The new camp at Lunga Island looks fantastic.

This is not camping! While staying at Lunga Island we never had to make our beds, light the fire, cook anything or wash our clothes! If you have the option to bring your own food and drinks and have children, Lunga Island is a perfect option. You only have to worry about keeping the kids away from the crocodiles and...

I've been thinking about how to write this review for some time. On the plus side we stayed at Hippo Lodge with friends and had an amazing few days. The sun shone, the fish were biting, the service at the lodge was perfect - attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The food was good. On the down side there were...

Gorgeous location, incredible staff, beautiful accommodation, amazing food, exciting wildlife. Can't fault anything about hippo. Spent the mornings on the veranda surrounded by puku, bush buck and a family of warthog, most days were spent out on the river with John, joe or agri, learning to fish, saw elephants crossing the water, lions stealing a leopard kill and hippos a...

Authentic bush experience. Four of us travelled together (two couples.) Wonderful staff, charming accommodation, great food, fantastic fishing. Warm welcome extended from the really attentive, knoweldgable and flexible guides and manager who couldn't have done any more for us. Terrific trip!
