#1 of 5 Specialty lodging in Skeleton Coast National Park
Certificate of Excellence
The lodge is a perfect rest spot for those travelling the Skeleton Coast or Damaraland region. Day visitors are most welcome as well as overnight guests. The in-house museum accommodates past relics of early settlers at Cape Cross and visitors can explore the history entwined within the lodge surroundings. The Atlantic ocean hugs a vast expanse of beach where one can stroll while taking in the breathless vistas.

Could not eat half of it. What I did eat was tough and gristle. I mentioned it to the waiter and the only thing he did was to say he was sorry, and that other customers had the same experience. Will not recommend this restaurant. Management was informed but had no response

We arrived at the lodge late on the afternoon of the 1st of Feb and was welcomed by the friendly and efficient staff of the lodge. All the rooms are sea facing units with balconies. There is a small museum covering the history of Cape Cross. For those wanting to camp, a dedicated area behind the lodge is demarcated and equipped for just that. The dinner was well prepared and enjoyable and we opted for a lovely Portugese wine from their cellar. The kitchen prepared breakfast packs for us as we wanted to leave very early the next morning. Well worth a visit!

This place really is interesting. Lodge was lovely - rooms comfortable and excellent meals. But it really is the ONLY THING out here! Just this small isolated 'colony' with a few private condos and the hotel. That is it. And the seal colony nearby. Nice small museum and some whaling history. You really feel you are at the end of the world!

Situated right on the sea front with all rooms overlooking the sea. Spotlessly clean and well maintained, the friendly, helpful and efficient staff are a credit to Namibia. The restaurant is well situated, overlooking the sea with a comfortable seating area and a well stocked bar. Be sure to visit the small museum and see the interesting relics and history of this remarkable area. The menu is rather restricted, but perfectly understandable as this is a remote location and the food was well prepared and presented by very friendly staff. Nearby is the CApe Cross seal colony and for the adventurous, a visit to the Messum crater is fantastic, but seek advice before going as its a remote and potentially dangerous location. WIll definitely return to Cape Cross Lodge.

Cape Cross Lodge is a great stop for an overnight to see the seals and an introduction to the Skeleton Coast. The lodge feels like a bit of a throwback, but that said, very comfortable and clean and friendly staff. The included dinner and breakfast were good. Would highly recommend for a short stay.
