Reached the resort after a long weary drive and was welcomed with a drink and loads of warmth by Irene the super efficient lady. Our room was with balcony in the oasis wing. Lovely earthy, spacious high roof rooms with lovely views across the waterhole and the desert. Nothing was a problem and every request was met with a smile. Dayatri at the spa was wonderful. Food was amazing and 3 of us were vegetarian and they still had a great 5 course menu every single day for dinner. The sundowner was fun and made some great friends. The dessert Dune tours and the quad tour done through them were fantastic. All the staff went beyond this call of duty to host us and their ever smiling welcoming faces were a pleasure. The snacks and coffee and tea were complimentary ever evening. The drive to the park was not too far or time consuming. Our time here was surely memorable. Was a great find. …
A perfect base from where you can discover the many pleasures of this region. Rooms are gorgeous and the food is great. The staff are gems and I lost something precious here and they found it and couriered it to me. The sun downer deck is in a stunning setting. Recommended.
Trip to Sossusvlei with dune climbing and balloning next day. At Le Mirage: Beautiful sundowns and great Oryx photos at the waterhole. Food was delicious, Jason and Rose have been very attentive and helpful. Unfortunately, it was quite dark in the restaurant so one could hardly read the wine list and the waterfall inside the restaurant was a bit noisy.
The Le Mirage was one of the best hotels during our stay in Namibia. Besides of the rooms and the pool and garden we found that the service and the food werde really excellent. Thanks especially to Charly who tried to learn us some words in the Nama language, which was really funny. We can recommend the Le Mirage without any doubts to anybody who stays near Sossusvlei. Stay at least two nights.
We stayed at 4 other lodges on our desert trip but Le Mirage topped them all. Not many places in the world where staff are so friendly and helpful and enjoy assisting guests. The rooms in the castle very comfortable with good quality beds and linen. Only inconvenience toilet in room not in a closed cubicle. Swimming pool in the court yard of the castle well placed with beautiful garden attracting many bird species. 5 course dinners top class. Lodge location close to all the main desert attractions i.e Sossus vlei, Sesriem and ballooning. Quad bike excursion offered by the lodge into the surrounding hills a great experience. Le Mirage a highly recommended stop over in the Namib desert
Le Mirage is a unique hotel, convenient to the magnificent Sossusvlei attraction. Based on a Scottish Castle - the hotel has great rooms, many with a magnificent view. The staff are very friendly, and the evening meals are sumptuous and very high quality. Audrey served us dinner on our 3 nights - and she was fabulous. The WiFi is a little patchy, but the hotel was a highlight of our trip to Namibia.
My wife and I were very happy with the excellent service and hospitality. The food was excellent(best Oryx ever) and they accommodated me with a request to quad bike very early in the morning , it was really worth it. Views are spectacular. The road to Le Mirage is a bit rough but it is worth the travel. Highly recommended.
I loved the lodge - Irene, Zain, Jason, Johannes - all the staff - your welcome, friendliness, professionalism was exceptional - always attentive and friendly venue was excellent as well- rooms were very spacious and beautiful please extend wifi to rooms-inconvenient to use in common area Irene-thank you so much for your support & making my b.day special :)
The location, building and interior is beautiful. But we would not choose this hotel again, because: Service is ok, but over all not good. The food is LOOKING fancy, but are not tasting good. Even if this hotel is beautiful, there is better hotels in the area (Hoodia desert lodge is amazing!).
It is far away from literally anything and like it's name suggests it is literally an oasis. The rooms are great, big, and comfortable, the views are great, the staff is incredibly nice (Gustave at the dining room is so nice). The food is OK, not excellent but nice. It was incredible to see the staff enter the dining room during dinner to perform native chants and dances. You could really feel the African vibe. They really make an effort to make your stay pleasurable and they succeed.
