very very bad service, but amazing place, probably the worst stay in Namibia which is a pity as Twyfelfontein is a Unesco recognised site and this lodge could be wonderful. Birds are pooing in the pool. No service at the bar or restaurant and not much choice of food. It is a pity for the setting is stunning.

We thought the owners relied on the location. The staff although friendly showed no sign of any training or supervision. The servicing of the bedroom was skimped. We ordered drinks with ice at the bar. There was no ice, so we took our drinks to a table to wait. We saw the ice brought up the stairs to the bar... More

Great place to look at but suffers from sloppy maintenance & frustratingly poor design in the rooms. Poor lighting in the rooms, wobbly tree trunks as bedside tables on the outside of the mosquito net being just a couple of examples. A dirty soggy bathmat in our room was horrible. The staff are friendly & willing but I think lack... More

After driving almost 80 km along a horrendous gravel road full of corrugations in 42 degrees of heat, we arrived at the Lodge, weary to say the least. Parking the car a long way from the lodge, we walked a mini assault course through the rocks to reach reception where the welcome was lukewarm. Having climbed up to the bar... More

The setting of the lodge is ideal and considering how busy it was during our stay, clearly a favourite among travelers. The rooms are small, but adequate, if you spend most of your day either exploring the surrounding destinations or relaxing in the heat of the day near the pool or bar. Food was always good and the staff were... More

Beautiful location, in a rock valley. Bungalows are big and nicely furnited, but no air cond which is a big missing since temperature doesn't cool down even in winter nights. Restaurant is on a big terrace on the first floor with very nice view on the valley. Quality of the Buffet is quite poor and staff feels a bit unorganized,... More

The rooms have been upgraded and this lodge is getting better all the time. Great meals as well. The only problem is the horrible road that is in a very bad condition. There have clearly not been a grader on this road for a long time. It is very badly corrugated. I feel that the roads department should take notice... More

Spotlessly clean, beautifully designed and stunningly beautiful location close to the heritage sites. Evening meal provided an incredible range compared to government-run lodges, although caters specifically to German tastes. Comfortable bar overlooking the valley provided the best sundowner. Oddly enough, wifi worked perfectly once the coachload of British tourists left for the day. Make sure you leave time to relax... More

We spent 2 nights here. The rooms were fine (we had front facing) though each has its own gas (?) supply for hot water and if the tank runs out you have to walk to reception to report (there are no phones in the room). Lovely views but the buffet supper is the worst kind of 1970s hotel food (... More

It's a long, dusty, bumpy road to get there (understatement), but it was conveniently close to the Heritage site and approaching Reception for the first time is certainly a dramatic sight. I am not a fussy eater, but I have to agree that the dinner was incomprehensibly unsatisfying. There were lots of Germans who seemed to be eating a great... More
