Our group of 6 just spent a week and Deacra villas and it was everything we hoped for. The villa is run by Casa Rex which is a hotel a few miles down the road. The shuttle from Casa Rex was available to transfer our group to/from the airport and also to dinner and into town when needed. We were even provided a ride to the super market in town upon arrival to stock the fridge in our self catering villa. On arrival the villa was just stunning with views of the ocean from every room. It was also so breezy since the villa is up on a hill that it seemed to keep the mosquitoes away-we were able to leave our windows open at night with no bug issues. We took advantage of the beautiful pool and the stairway leading directly to the private beach. With 24 hour security we always felt safe. There were also always grounds crew and maids on the property who were very kind and helpful. In the evenings we ate dinner at Casa Rex hotel down the road (highly recommend) and also the Pescador. The only negative I can even find is that there were some minor maintenance issues that should be addressed. Our shower head in one of the three bathrooms fell off halfway through our stay, the air conditioner in the main living room did not seem to work (we were using breezes from the ocean anyways) also there were a few light bulbs out. I cannot think of a better place to stay in Vilanculos if you are looking for privacy/self catering place. I am going to miss the countless hours spent on the 3 balconies just enjoying the spectacular view!

We have just spent a week at Casa Macacu and can highly recommend this very comfortable villa which overlooks the sea, for a wonderful and relaxed holiday. It is very well appointed, in immaculate condition as well as spacious with three bedrooms ensuite. The staff clean the house daily and the laundry is done. There are masses of entertaining areas and also a lovely pool. Direct access to the beach below is down a short, but steep, wooden walkway. There is also great backup from the Casa Rex team who manage the villa.

When you look at the photos of Deacra Villas and wonder if it's going to be that nice when you get there, trust me, it meets all the expectations and so many more! The villa breathtaking. The accommodation is as beautiful as it looks in the photos, Jane (the lady who looked after us) could not have been more helpful, there was nothing that was too much trouble for her. I feel I must comment on the beds too, I've never in my life slept in such a comfortable bed, it seemed to wrap you up and lull you to wonderful sleep! There was a maid there practically all day to clean up after you and did all our washing and ironing - in-fact, it was left out in the morning and was back by lunchtime washed and ironed! On the last day we even had the car washed! The location is good but ideally a 4x4 is advisable but not essential. There are some fabulous restaurants in the immediate vicinity but you really need a car to get to them and we drove from South Africa (no mean feat!) and found Vilanculos monstrously expensive compared to where we had come from. The views from the villa are wonderful over the islands and has very easy access to the beach, my only word of warning though here is the staircase is a wooden walk way with quite steep steps so you do need to be relatively able bodied. Would I return to Deacra Villa - in a heartbeat!!
