I stayed here for two nights with my girlfriend at the end of a mini world tour. The service we received was nothing short of outstanding by any international standards. This put many places we had paid 5x the amount for to shame. The staff were fantastic without exception. They organized all of our tours for us at better rates than we had been quoted beforehand all mostly worked well. We had an ocean view room (rm 4) which was well worth the extra. Despite there being no air con the constant strong breeze made the room more than confortable despite it being the hottest time of the year. I’m normally not a fan of beach huts due to the temperature and insects but neither were ever an issue in this instance. The restaurant and cocktails were also great. There was an attention to detail which is often missing elsewhere. Our only issue was the fact that we couldn’t stay longer due to our schedule.…
Ideally located with amazing staff, we had the most amazing time for 10 days of break in this little simple paradise. The food is amazing, the chef is really great. The early morning coffees too. Kind, humble, ideally located and warm. If you are looking for a quiet space to relax. This charming rustic place is amazing. We loved every bit of it!
Baraka Beach and the Team there are truly wonderful. We stayed for 4 nights and are so happy that we chose Baraka for our stay in gorgeous Vilanculos. The setting on the beach front is spectacular with wonderful rooms and restaurant/bar area that have a really welcoming & friendly vibe. The place is clean, safe and everything that we needed to enjoy our time here. We can’t thank Avner, Linda and all of the staff enough for such a memorable stay and only wish that we could have stayed longer. The location is great with other bars and restaurants nearby and these are easy and safe to explore but you really should try the king prawns here as they are spectacular. The beach is beautiful and perfect for a causal wonder, chat with the fishermen or heading out to idyllic Bazaruto. Alternatively, take a pew and breath it all in, theres no better setting in Vilancilos to do so. Hope to stay with you again someday and advise anyone visiting Vilanculos to do the same. …
We stayed in one of the sea view huts which overlook the vibrant beach, busy with the local boats going in and out and the daily catch being sold into the local community. The huts are rustic, everything is made from wood so are a bit rickety. The bathroom is located a step away in the adjacent hut and accessed through two very narrow doorways. The communal areas are also rustic and charming and may be a bit challenging if comfort is important to you as all the chairs/ loungers are made of wood and have little or no padding. There are a couple of sofas in the shade too. That said the aesthetics are charming & music is constantly relaxing, creating a really lovely vibe and space in the evenings. Menu is compact but the chefs are fantastic at cooking the local fish, tiger prawns were cooked perfectly and delicious! Linda overseas everything in a calm & unobtrusive way and will help as needed.…
Small calm place close to everywhere, always with a nice breeze, amazing food. My special little jungle in a magical place. You can see the fisherman arriving at the end of the day. Nice music and small cozy swimming pool
We stayed at Baraka for 4 nights and had a great stay. The grounds are gorgeous and the rooms are unique and comfortable. The place has a feeling of an eco lodge with everything constructed from local materials. We had the ocean front room which was amazing, definitely worth the extra money for the beautiful views of the ocean from your bed, patio and shower! The staff, manager, and owner were all friendly and very welcoming and the on-site restaurant had great food and reasonable prices for the area. We hope to come back in the future!
We stayed 5 days at Baraka. The style of the place mix with the ocean view made Vilanculos one of our favorite place. The bar&restaurant was amazing, we eat moslty there. The location is Great. Clean and unique rooms. Lovely place
We were looking for a place with life! So when we arrived at night I ran down the length of the beach to find the spot with the most people/lights and discovered Baraka. The food was outstanding! (Biggest lobster I ever ate) an the caipirinhas as good as the ones in Rio. The room rates were very reasonable and so beautifully designed, made with old African wood techniques. We also did a tour to Bazaruto, what a joy to behold!
We spent a wonderful week in this special place. The resort is all built in wood and looks at the beach and the sea with incredible colors. All the people who work here are kind and helpful. We also enjoyed the Baraka's cuisine, excellent dinners in everything served : I especially suggest the king prowns and the orange cake. Linda is always available to help you organize the activities, we have done for example: boat tour to Bazaruto, horse riding, kite surfing, sunset to red dunes, local shopping ... Vilankulo is a safe place lived by friendly people. Don't miss the chance to come to Baraka.
