Simple and homely, Ylang is the perfect place to get away from it all. Pascal and Nadia are lovely people, most welcoming and helpful, and will go out of their way to help out and advise. Evening dinners cheffed by Max were delicious.

We loved our stay with Pascal and Nadia. Pascal was unbelievable helpful in every way possible. The room was clean, the breakfasts served by Alexia and Fania were relaxing and the dinners by Max were delicious. We were meant to stay for 7 nights but ended up staying for 11. The garden is very well cared for and loved and Saccapousse (dog) was the highlight of my stay. Its basic but good value for money. If you get cold easily there are no blankets.

We were here for 4 nights and stayed in two of the cabins in the main garden area. The location as mentioned is at the end of the slightly larger main beach on the Island but for that allowed for a quieter and less busy experience away for the main "luxury" hotels. Very family friendly exemplified by Pascal who was the perfect host for who nothing was too difficult, making calls to travel agents, advising on flight delays and even (when my wife was ill, offering help to visit the pharmacy. For some the presence of the local children may be noisy but for us it added to the very relaxed and friendly approach of the Hotel making you feel like an extension to the family rather than a visitor. Rooms were simple but clean and hot water always available. The food (being on full board) was varied and always of a good quality (even having Pascal cook up some specials for the days we were in the Hotel at Lunch and dinner). All in all exactly the type of experiance we were looking for and found here.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were shown to a VERY small room, that was considered a double. The shower stall had mold and chipped paint. There are 4 bungalows and a room in the lodge, connected to the owner's living quarters. They are in the process of building another building so we heard construction noises while we were there for a few hours at midday. In addition, the beach is behind a sea wall, which means to access it you need to walk along it and then down some rocks. At low tide the water is way way out away from the hotel. The owner was nice but a little too familiar, runs the hotel like a youth hostel it seemed to us. AND there were 6 or 7 kids from the neighboring villa (not even guests at the hotel) playing in the very small pool and making a lot of noise. We chose to leave. For the price they charge, it was overpriced considering the much in need of renovation condition and the very small bungalows.

Thank's for the familiarity, we are a Guest house. We are happy to discuss with our visitors about their travel experience. We just try to make a friendly welcoming place with familly athmosphere. A kind of charming place without pretending a hi class hotel. Some English family working in Madagascar, spending a week end once a month in the neighbourhood, enjoy to have lunch in our place. They have only 3 kids, I accept them to use the swiming pool. You were tired and I ask them to be quiet, what they did. They didn't stay so long... ...By your only presence, which didn't last long you make run away, some nice and wellmannered, friendly family* If you don't like that point, unfortunatly you are at the wrong place, I presume you have been tired of your journey and may did not enjoy your travel experience. During your short stay, we did care of you as organizing activity and transfert which were planed with your travel agency . How can you be so unfair and stigmatize us. As you didn't spend a single night and moved to an hotel who charge in between 80€ to 100€ for bungalow. I charge 38 to 48€ in between rooms or Bungalow. Am I so expensive? Few more answers to readers. Bungalows are from standart size and with a double bed 14 m² + terrasse, toilet and bathroom The swimming pool is 45 m², which I agree is not olympic size. By the end we are a 7 rooms hotel. This might be call a small hotel. I always need to work aroud to keep the place tidy and some days, we do renovations. When it need to be done, our working time is in between 9 and 12o'clock not to disturb breakfast and lunch time These works didn't not involve heavy machinerie or power tools. These work will include the renovation of the bathroom which need constant care in tropical weather. Every year, during our closure period we do the refreshing to keep as nice and clean For the beach; Once a day water is low and then hi, like every Ocean coast. We have a wall along the garden, with 2 access to the beach, the first is direct on the sand beach, the second is walking along the wall until stair made in stone,no climbing skills required. During Full moon, the water could be far away with a nice sand band you can swim, If you wait hi tide you can directly jump in the water from the wall. Nature is amazing, we love it. Pascal Manager
