Vanilla hotel has always been my favourite hotel in Nosybe but since my last trip before Covid many improvements made such as the huge new swimming pool and very friendly manager who has a hands on approach to make sure the guests have a first class experience, which is exactly what we had.
Bar is so beautiful and good value. I went to happy hour time, it was buy 1 get 1 free , it was so reasonable. Approximately 400 Thb and can get 2 glasses of cocktail. Man staff was so friendly and take care of me well, I visited 2 times while I was in BKK for a few days. I had a very good time.
I stayed here for 4 nights and would have loved to have stayed longer. The rooms were very large and well appointed, nice bathrooms, comfortable beds, large balconies and very clean. Food was very good, mostly buffet style or though there is also a restaurant here which I did not use. Staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The swimming pools were all very clean, lots of sunbeds around them and also overlooking the beach. The gardens were beautiful and very well kept. I used the spa a couple of times and was very satisfied with the massages and the cost was very reasonable. I would come here again in a heartbeat.
This hotel is by the sea, and most if not all rooms have a large balcony from which to watch glorious sun sets in Nosy Be. Rooms are absolutely huge, and comfortable. Breakfast room/restaurant is also by the sea and has great atmosphere and excellent breakfast.
We had a great room with sea view over the extensive garden. Many different room categories exist, some are really cramped and uncomfortable (we had some peeks when they were being cleaned), but ours was large and airy, with a big terrace, nice bathroom, comfy bed, etc. The wifi didn't reach the room however, so have that it mind if it is important for you. Room was very clean and well-appointed. Upon arrival our reservation was not to be found. After we had lunch, it did appear however, so we could check in and install ourselves. The poolside restaurant is good, some of the food is great and the service is friendly if not the most professional. Several pools and a large garden + direct access to the beach. The beaches in this part of Nosy Be are really not very special though, so if you crave a paradisaical beach, go somewhere else.…
Stayed 3 nights in July for my husbands 50th whilst travelling around Madagascar. Hotel was amazing. Great food, fabulous gardens, really friendly staff all speaking really good English and fantastic room. Couldn’t fault the place. It’s definitely not 3 star by English standards, more like 4 star. Buffet evening meal which could be split into just main course if not too hungry and priced accordingly. Right on the beach and lovely pools. Sun loungers scattered throughout the gardens and along the edge of the beach with great views and secluded locations and the best bit was no towels left on loungers! Didn’t have to get up at 5am to reserve a seat!!! Everything you could want for a relaxing, luxurious few days away.
We stayed for 4 nights. Well situated on Nosy Be and great to explore Nosy Be and other islands from there. Friendly and helpful staff always ready with a smile. Rooms well equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed every moment there and will definitely visit again.
At the edge of the beach I think it's what makes it so charming The staff is very caring very smiling I came with my family and we had a week of happiness I recommend to those who want to discover the beauty of this island paradise Rooms are spacious with a balcony view
Great hotel right on the beach. Very spacious clean and comfortable rooms. Comfortable bed. Great large clean bathroom. Amazing big veranda with great views and sunsets. Buffet breakfast and dinner of goid quality. Very helpful tour desk. Corteous helpful staff.
My partner and I did a package deal here during the month of March. We were so concerned before arriving because the weather forecast showed constant storms and we'd heard nothing but horror stories about measles outbreaks / malaria and getting robbed. However - Nosy Be is an absolute gem. And we could not have been more thrilled with our accommodation. We saw loads of other hotels which were supposedly higher stars than Vanila but we never felt like we'd chosen the wrong place. It was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! The location is incredible, the pool is wonderful and the staff are divine. So friendly and happy. Every morning we were welcomed back to our room with fresh sheets, gorgeously decorated towels done up like swans and hearts - fresh bars of soap. It felt very extravagant and the view from our private balcony was to die for. The package was excellently priced in our opinion. It included all of our excursions, almost all meals, transport, accommodation - the only thing that got a bit pricey was the drinks which you obviously need to pay for separately. Our very only qualms were all so small such as the breakfast was always the same and got a bit boring / bland after a week... it's always omlette's and then a selection of fresh fruit, toast, cereal... it would have been great if they'd mixed it up a bit more. There were also some strange little ant-like bugs (but smaller) in our upstairs room which got into some of our special chocolate we'd been excited to have together from a South African Winery. We tried spraying the bugs but they never went away. Then there's the local people... we did feel very pressured to buy things from them... they don't understand no and have no understanding of personal space. They are incredibly persistent but at the end of the day they are just trying to make some money so be prepared for that because they do swarm you... ESPECIALLY if you engage with just one person about a specific item at least 6 others will run up to you and shove bracelets / sarongs and magnets in your face. It gets very awkward and makes the experience a bit enjoyable to be constantly hassled but that is something that will never change. I would go back to Madagascar tomorrow - to the Vanila hotel, regardless of the little things. Nothing is ever 100% perfect, it it???…
