I booked the weekend at Rushmore Estate for a surprise wedding proposal with my fiancé. It went absolutely perfectly. We had the entire residence to ourselves as it was a quiet weekend in the off season. Karen, our gracious host for the weekend, showed us around the property and prepared a lovely and delicious breakfast for us. The proximity to Woodbury Commons was also great - only about 5 minutes to shop all the fantastic outlets. I would recommend this estate for any wedding, family reunion, or other event!

After a family medical emergency canceled our original wedding plans, I hit the ground running to find something unique and beautiful close to my parent’s home in the Hudson Valley. From the very first visit, I knew we found our place. As someone in the wedding industry, I was incredibly particular in the "vibe" of our wedding weekend – elegant but laid-back, and The Rushmore Estate far surpassed everything we had hoped for in a wedding weekend. From the pool (a favorite) to the beautiful rooms, the lake to the ballroom, our guests were SO impressed. We took advantage of their catering suggestions and had amazing food for all events thanks to Peppercorn Events. Russell, Beth, and Karen made for a seamless event and I am forever grateful for their support as we had some additional needs to manage my Dad’s wheelchair due to his new injury. The team went above and beyond and even built a temporary ramp for him at the cottage. These little things made what could have been difficult/damper on the weekend much more easier for us. We had 85 wedding guests and utilized the pool/patio, cottage, ballroom, and 4 rooms above the ballroom – my suggestion would be to take advantage of everything available! Our guests were truly wowed by the event and I wish I could relive it again and again. My only complaint is not having enough time! We hope to visit again on our anniversary for another beautiful weekend. Thank you again to Russell, Beth, and Karen for everything.

We had a phenomenal 17 day stay at Rushmore. We had a few friends swing in and out and all thoroughly enjoyed the pond, gardens, joggers track, private dinners, fire-place, projector set up, BBQ’s (July 4th was a ball) and the heated pool. The edge of the pool is long so for the swimmers it was tough stopping the laps. The property is massive and so a walk to some parts feels like a forest adventure. Better than all of this was the service. Russell had the music on perfect volume and finding fresh ice in our cooler every morning made the beers hit the spot. He says he lives nearby but felt like he an underground bunker on the property. The owner Seth came by to say hello a few times and made us feel right at home in one of the most beautiful estates in the country. The historic charm had us having a drink at the bar just gazing at the ceiling of the main ballroom, just as we did the breathtaking views from a few minutes away in the car. Beth and Karen's fresh breakfasts every morning had us maximize our daytime. Shooting stars and smores on our very own beach we are coming back for more. We hope they have availability next summer, although we are not counting on it 😊

Magnificent place for an intimate, unique wedding experience. This is not your standard wedding venue that handles multiple events at a time and confines its guests to the reception hall or at best to a small outdoor space. The is the ultimate splendor of having an entire estate and staff dedicated to your intimate experience. My experience: a quintessential gift that paired with the thoughtful favor memorialized the event. As we drove up to the gated 1920’s estate overlooking the lake and manicured landscape budded with mature trees surrounding the landmark Spanish colonial which beckoned us in, Rushmore “had us at hello.” This home spoke to us. Beyond the craftsmanship and its meandering outdoor spaces, we felt drawn to this majestic property. “I was within and without” is how I would describe it ― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby.. Blending into to the historical landscape, our wedding theme was simply Gatsby. "Can't repeat the past? Why of course you can!". This magical place transported us and our guests back to the lavish roaring period of a happy by gone era. How appropriate a medicine for today when we all seek an opportunity to unite in a safe social gathering. What better way to splendor the outdoors over many acres of pure solitude for you and your special guests alone to explore. Seeing everyone enjoying themselves was gratifying. All our guests told me how much fun they had. Thanks to Russell, Karen and Beth for making our event all the more magical and flawless. They didn’t miss a beat. The outdoor after party by the lake Russell set for us and some of our guests with a bon fire was the topper of the evening. It was lovely strolling around the lake after dinner. Russell and team equipped us with a customized service and were gracious with accommodating our special needs. One of which was by default an unforgettable personal experience beyond our dreams - a portal to a happier time. Beth was a super wedding planner and Karen helped with setting the stage for my Gatsby old Hollywood décor in the reception. Another topper to this event was the most decadent catering of Pamela’s Traveling Feast. She prepared the perfect menu and with varying serving stations to satisfy every palette. The wedding cake was incredible, nothing of this world. I cannot describe how amazing the wedding cake was, but I’ve never tasted anything like it. Paired with the homemade pies were simply to die for. All the food she prepared was of the same caliber, simply divine. Russell recommended Pamela who is top on their list of caterers no doubt. We were fortunate to have Pamela and I can’t tell you how many compliments I received from our guests on her culinary talents! She is a must have! No one else can possibly compare! Reverend Jim Rooney also recommended by Rushmore was truly amazing and personable. He was a Godsend who made us feel extra special, guiding us and sharing with us as mentor and with our family and friends how we met and felt about each other. When we were saying our vows as Christian looked at me, “it was like all women want to be looked at by a man.” Then he kissed me “and the incarnation was complete.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby. All these elements collided like the stars and together created an unforgettable moment in time that is now bound to this magical place. I will never forget our experience at Rushmore. If you are looking for the most incredible and unique experience for your wedding, please see the Rushmore. I was seeking something more, NOT a Bridal factory, which is what most venues offer where bridal party assemblies are lined, confined to large ornate rooms then rushed out the door. So, you feel like one of the many brides in partitioned rooms. Not the focal point - just one of many on that day's events. This is something we didn’t want. With Rushmore we fulfilled our dream wedding. The best part, we can revisit this wonderful portal again, since it is a bed and breakfast. I will be booking my trip back to Rushmore for our anniversary, for years to come. I hopeful, dreaming grandly sought a special place to hold my wedding and I landed it at the Rushmore Estates.

What a fantastic place and amazing weekend. We attended our son's Ring Weekend celebration staying at the estate. The Washington room was extremely spacious and comfortable. Russell the caretaker also was amazing and very thoughtful. He even had a dinner reservation at an incredible spot for us on the night of our arrival. Breakfast on Saturday morning was delicious thanks to his wife's homemade french toast. Yummy. We would highly recommend Rushmore Estates and only wish we had booked in earlier for graduation.

Rushmore Estate is a beautiful and peaceful place for a weekend getaway. The rooms are very clean and well kept despite the age of the estate. My favorite part were the outdoor spaces such as gorgeous pool, peaceful lake and the hiking trails. We were able to use all of the water sports equipment for free on the lake. They offer paddle boarding, catamaran, and kayaking and fishing too. That was lots of fun. The breakfasts were very delicious ! Service was great! Special thanks to Russel, who made our experience at Rushmore very special. PS

My wife Jack and I got married at Rushmore and it was perfect for our intimate event. We were able to use the property for all aspects of our celebration (ceremony, reception, and morning-after brunch), and there were enough facilities for both of our nuclear families to take lodging on-site as well. We got compliments from all of our guests. There were several picturesque spaces for 75 people to commune, and we found there were quiet spaces and activities (pool, kayaking/paddleboarding on the lake, a romantic bridge to a forest full of trees, etc.) for people to split off and take a moment away from the larger party if they so chose. The operations staff was flexible and communicative. Russel and Beth were great to work with and did their best to accommodate us wherever they could. It was a really good experience for us. We're only sorry we're only going to get married there once!

This is a very special property, well preserved and elegant, with classic Spanish inspired architecture, wood carvings, and metal work. Renting a room gives you full access to the grounds, which include a very nice heated pool and beautiful private lake. When we booked we originally planned to visit nearby parks for hiking and enjoying natural scenery, but once we were at Rushmore we didn't want to leave and didn't, except for dinner. With only four rooms, and many places to hang out, Rushmore feels very much like having a home away from home.

Rushmore estate is a beautiful, peaceful and a unique get away in so many ways. We took a weekend get away with three couples, all different ages and interests. There is something to do for everyone either on property or in the area. The grounds are immaculately maintained. The rooms and architecture of the building is gorgeous. And the scenery from the infinity pool is breathtaking. The staff go out of their way to make your stay as wonderful as possible. Morning breakfast was delicious. Beth is an amazing hostess and was always accommodating to everybody’s needs. We are planning a future visit already with our friends. I couldn’t ask for a better getaway. Looking forward to coming back soon.
