Thirteen years ago I selected this inn as the place to get ready for my New Paltz wedding. The hospitality and every detail were so sublime that I returned with my husband for our tenth anniversary and again for our thirteenth. We'd come more if we could! A few small things have changed through the years- new touches in decoration, but the warm welcome and most of the beautiful furnishings remain the same. Nancy finds fresh peaches in May, and cooks delicious breakfasts to order. Everything is immaculate, including the Jacuzzi. The linens are luxurious. The landscaping is impeccable, the creek roars, and the birds sing good morning. This last trip we walked to The Walkway Over the Hudson. I love that we can enjoy a romantic oasis in this Inn. It was a gift to our relationship to have a night away where we could really enjoy each other and the beautiful surroundings.…
This is our favorite place to stay. Nancy is a warm and welcoming host, and she makes every stay extra special! Everything is impeccably clean. Breakfast is a culinary delight of the senses. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The common areas welcome you to sit in the sunroom, by the fire, or in a private outdoor nook to read, have a drink, or watch a thunderstorm or some softly falling snow. Tea, water, Nespresso, and coffee are always available, along with some delectable baked delight. Nancy is always full of great ideas for things to do and places to eat. A walk or bike on the nearby rail trail to the river is always beautiful. This is our place to reset, recharge, and relax.
I really hate to give this inn a review because it was so incredible I don't want it to become so popular I can't stay again! I live in Massachusetts. Family having 75th birthday party for a cousin and this inn was recommended by a relative - just down the road from them. Immaculately clean, classy, beautiful. Nancy is charming and was so accommodating and professional. Room was beautiful, spacious, nice. Spa tub was too die for as was rest of the beautiful bathroom and awesome hairdryer (the small things!). I was also impressed that, though all three rooms were booked, we didn't hear a peep from anyone from our room. Best part: the breakfast served at time you wanted by Nancy! I got broccoli egg crust less quiche w/fresh unbelievably delicious toast. My mother got the almond, raspberry french toast. Fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee. So incredibly good. As I said, I hate to recommend because I want to return and fear word of mouth will book this place forever. Reluctantly still have to give this place the highest recommendation possible. Book and stay and you will NOT regret!!…
My husband and I recently spent an overnight here to celebrate our anniversary and the experience was wonderful. Even before we arrived, Nancy was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and things to do. We were able to check in a little early and get settled. I felt that having the bottled water, tea, and delicious baked snacks available throughout the stay was such a great touch. The room was spotless and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The absolute best part was the breakfast. I don't think I've ever had a homemade fruit cup where every single piece of fruit was dead ripe and perfect. The Swedish pastry was to die for and the avocado toast was spectacular. Can't say enough nice things about this inn and we will definitely stay here again when in the area.
I always notice what could be better when I go out to a bar, restaurant, hotel, etc... In this case I have nothing to say but praise. As so many other reviewers have noted, Nancy is amazing! She was full of information to help my wife and I fill in some unscheduled time and super friendly and eager to help in any way she can. Her breakfasts were big and delicious too. We used the Inn as our base camp to see a show at the nearby "Live at the Falcon" in Marlboro (the next town) where. we also enjoyed a lunch at the Benmarl winery overlooking the Hudson River. And speaking of the River, the Inn is just steps away from the rail-trail connecting to the Walkway Over the Hudson which is a very nice leisurely thing to do. We stayed an extra night and used that time to explore the other side of the river from Poughkeepsie to Rhinebeck. Room #2 is bright and spacious and the decorations were charming. In the common space you can find 24-hour complimentary coffee/tea and bottled waters plus any bar supplies you might need. Needless to say we will be back!…
We just returned from a 2 night stay here. It was perfect in so many ways- Stunning property in a small town minutes away from the main drag where you can easily connect to the main draws of this area like Walkway Over the Hudson. Our room was clean, comfortable, roomy and well decorated. Breakfast was fabulous. The hosts were friendly and helpful. All in all, a true inn experience.
My wife & I traveled to the Hudson Valley for our 5 year anniversary, and can’t wait to return for another stay at the Inn. Nancy is an impressive hostess, cook, and area expert with recommendations on great places to go, see, and experience. The room was quiet, comfortable, and cozy, and the entire house has a great atmosphere & ambience. Beyond that, the food was unbelievably good. What made it even more impressive was that Nancy made it an incredible stay while also maintaining the utmost safety by following COVID-19 precautions. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this amazing place!
Especially this year, it's important to find places that manage to feel "normal" while still keeping everything safe. The inn had "sanitation stations" and socially distanced breakfast tables to help guests feel comfortable. With bars and night life closed down, it was nice to have cozy patios outdoors where a bottle of local wine could be enjoyed. Beds were super comfortable, and the bathtub was luxurious. The inn was located near the Walkway Over the Hudson, which was a wonderful way to experience the stunning local scenery. I highly recommend this inn if you need a safe weekend away.
We love this B&B! Clean with a warm, intimate atmosphere, delicious breakfasts and accommodating Innkeeper - Nancy. Short drive to restaurants and attractions such as Storm King, Culinary Institute and Rhinebeck and short walk to the village.
The inn and Nancy are lovely. The inn is beautiful. We were in room #2 which was lovely, clean and very inviting. Nancy is a wonderful hostess and makes amazing breakfasts. The java chip scones were definitely worth sinning for! We would love to go back.
