My fiance and I were looking to book a long weekend getaway upstate, but AirBnB's prices and surcharges have gotten out of control. I was so lucky to stumble upon the CS Coach House! We frequent the area but have never stayed in High Falls, and we fell in love. It was the perfect, centrally located town with some excellent restaurants- all just under a mile from the house. We are also big fans of historic properties and were charmed by the restored features of the building. We chose the Woodland room and weren't disappointed. There were beautiful high ceilings, exposed beams, a bright spacious bathroom, and a private balcony overlooking the stream. It was really warm when we arrived but the AC unit and ceiling fan cooled the room down quickly. The bed was very comfortable and the owners provide everything you need including a coffee station, iron, dryer, bug spray, and some nice bath products. Craig and David were very communicative and checked in to make sure we were comfortable, but we still felt like we had plenty of privacy. We were lucky to be the only ones staying at the house all weekend! After seeing that we made a fire the first night, Craig was kind enough to set up the fire for when we got back from a day of hiking, night 2. The CS Coach house feels like a luxury stay, but with the right amount of old rustic charm that we love. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to all!…
There is a considerable difference between the description of the property and the reality. We have paid in full for 3 nights in advance, so it was rather unusual for us that we checked out the next morning. I believe this property should not be rented out in its current condition. The property is in essence a charming wooden shack at the end of its life, with single glazing. Heating was out of order, and the entire installation looks like decades of improvisation.
We had an excellent stay at this historic site. The locale is beautiful and the ambiance is very relaxing and restful. Craig was very helpful and extremely accommodating to our requests. The location is very central to visiting area sights and restaurants. We highly recommend considering this property if you plan to be in the area…we don’t think you’ll regret it and, more likely, will come away feeling good about your experience!
We wanted to get out of Manhattan, but everything in nearby New Paltz seemed fantastically expensive - and then we found the Coach House. The Coach House is beautiful, reasonably priced and set in a stunning landscape; you fall asleep with the comforting white noise of the stream and waterfall outside your window. Our host couldn’t have been nicer and you should go there, now
Craig and David are perfect hosts and the location, attention to detail in decorum, everything was lovely. Truly a special place. Great price and value. Seriously cannot wait to return and will begin planning the next stay soon :)
How can you beat a small, intimate and very romantic stay in upstate NY on a babbling brook with a chic touch of whimsy? You can't. Book it now. Never mind the hospitality and charm of the owners. Enjoy, you won't be disappointed.
We’ve stayed here twice, once in the Waterfall room and once in the Woodland room and loved it both times. The sound of the falls is so relaxing. Craig and David are so welcoming and hospitable. The rooms are super cozy. There is zero trace of the sulfuric smell in the water that a lot of nearby accommodations have. The location is perfect, right down the road from High Falls which has several great dining options. Lots of hiking options nearby too. We will be back!
We stayed in the Waterfall room and really enjoyed our stay. The room was quaint and had everything you needed. The property was so beautiful. Located close to attractions. Check in & out was a breeze.
Just got back from our trip in High Falls! Upon arriving Craig greeted us and showed us around the space. He have amazing recommendations on places to shop, eat, & drink in the area! The house was so clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. They provided fruit and bars in the morning with a stocked fridge of water, yogurt, and coffee. Being able to walk out straight from our room to the lawn was so special. Don’t hesitate and book your stay at CS Coachhouse!
The room was adequate, the stream outside was very calming. Nice to have a fire pit with plenty of wood. They did allow an early arrival and a late check out, probably due to vacancies. Unfortunately, the hosts were MIA. Their responses to inquiries, which you can only do by text or email, averaged about a 10 hour response time. Which left us to our own devices. I really don't think they were on the property for the weekend. The one person we did see, as we were sitting around a fire, did not acknowledge us while he was walking the owners dogs. They didn't provide any information on the area, restaurants, activities, shopping etc. We were really on our own to find our place. I don't think I would go back there again for a number of reasons. The food that was supplied, yogurt and bars, were not anything I would eat at home. Limited coffee via a Keriug. You do have your own balcony but I would not consider it "private". The staircase and doors both in the room and to the balcony were VERY narrow.…
