We stayed just one night, however we regretted not staying longer! Upon entering the cabin, it smelled fresh like it had just been cleaned. It was immaculate. We didn’t have any worries that it was not sanitized properly with the current pandemic situation.
It was well decorated, furnished nicely. Stocked well.. we had everything we needed. The views were wonderful as well. We wished we had easier access to the fire pit and grill as they were not next to our cabin and it felt awkward to go in between someone else’s cabin to access. It was advertised as a “community fire pit” so that was of no fault of the owners, we just didn’t feel comfortable. Next time we will just request a cabin with the fire pit closer. That is the only thing I would change in the entire place!
We are already trying to plan our next trip to these cabins. We have stayed at other places in the area for at least one hundred dollars more a night... and we would hands down pick this place again. Thank you for giving us amazing memories!

We stayed in cabin 12 on the upper level with a great view of the lake. The property and cabin were immaculate and comfy. Pros: great location, staff was friendly and had great recommendations for food, drink, and exploring. Dock access, fire pits, and a front porch which we enjoyed both morning and night. Cons: Our mattress had a big dip in the middle. It was just the 2 of us, but this cabin can sleep 4 so be prepared. There is only a 2 person couch and 2 porch chairs. The cabin only has a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker. You will need to bring your own utensils and paper goods if you plan on eating anything. A knife for cutting cheese to a spoon for measuring sugar for tea. None of the cons impacted our stay just mentioning them so you can be prepared. We would definitely recommend Single Island Shores.

Thank you so much for that very nice rating and for sharing this information! It's been difficult for us to ensure potential guests see that there are different single-bedroom options with us before booking... one type, of which, you described and the other in our Lakeside area, closer to the water, that has a full kitchen with all the flatware & utensils, a gas grill, & additional seating, and therefore cost more. Thanks again for highlighting this difference. We really do like to get such feedback. We're planning to add to nice, wooden, folding chairs into each of these cottages in order to better accommodate any additional guests. We hope to see you again! Kind Regards, Ashley L.

These recently built cabins are clean yet homey. We felt very comfortable staying here during the COVID19 pandemic. The property manager communicated their policies clearly before our arrival for a contactless check-in. Our only issue was the AC was very loud and woke us up during the night. Our final night we switched the AC to a different setting and didn't have the issue of it kicking on and off.

We stayed in a single upper lake view cottage and still had a lovely view of the lake. We walked down to the dock at sunset twice, which was beautiful, but as other reviewers have mentioned, it's a steep hill, so you may want to drive.

The location was perfect - very close to wineries, breweries, restaurants, hiking, and town. All of the establishments we visited had outdoor seating upon request and took precautions. Favorites include Ryan William winery, Two Goats Brewery, Stonecat Restaurant, and Watkins Glen hiking trails.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

We chose this site because of its proximity to beautiful hikes. We could not have been happier. The cottage was spotless, comfortable, and we spent several nights enjoying wine on the porch while taking in the lake view. We stayed in an upper lakeview cottage and enjoyed the walk down to the dock - it's a tad steep but an enjoyable activity to end the day (we're in our 60s). We appreciated the privacy the layout of the cabins offer. We highly recommend this spot.

Single Island Shores exceeded every expectation. Beautiful property. Spacious, clean, comfortable cabins. Every needed amenity. We stayed three days and nights for an extended family reunion and fell in love with this very thoughtfully run and maintained vacation rental. Excellent communication. Can't say enough about the friendly and helpful staff. Ashley was prompt and professional and went above and beyond coordinating fourteen adjacent cabins. She was integral in making our reunion a reality and an unforgettable memory. We paddle boarded and kayaked from the dock. Our big kids swam there. Took our little ones down the street to Smith Memorial Park for beach entry swimming with lifeguards on site. Paddle boarded and kayaked there too. Reagan's Canoe and Kayak delivered and picked up rentals on site. Playground a huge hit. Firehouse Field across the street was perfect for kickball, volleyball, and a Spikeball Tournament. S'mores around the cabin fire pits. Stunning sunsets. And more. Very highly recommend. 11/10!

10 of us stayed in the Lakefront Chalet. Pros: Location to wineries & breweries, quiet, Ashley (property manager) is super helpful and responsive, view, sunsets, fire pit, comfy beds. Cons: No garbage disposal, broken & ripped screen off track, deck post lights don’t illuminate, tiny full bathroom in master BR. Overall clean but our feet were black walking around, so floor may need a mopping.

Definitely adequate for our purposes and would stay here again.

Thank you for those kind words and for the feedback! I'm excited to share with you the remodel planned for the Lakefront Grand that should hopefully be completed this winter. We'll be replacing the sliding doors with the old screens with French doors that open out on to the front deck; we're fixing the chimney to create a working fireplace; we're installing window treatments throughout for even more privacy; we're changing the door on the master bathroom to create a little more space, we're adding exterior lighting around stone steps leading to lakefront; and bringing in brand new couches. So, we do hope you'll come stay with us again and check out all that has been improved. Kind Regards, Ashley L.

I would highly recommend Single Island Shores to anyone visiting the Finger Lakes region. My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the lakefront cottages, and we could not have been happier. Location is right in the heart of the Seneca Lake wine region- multiple breweries and vineyards in the area and they even provided coupons when we checked in! Just a quick 15 minute drive into Watkins Glen and close to many other state parks and other attractions on the other Finger Lakes.

The cabin itself was brand new and SPOTLESS. Comes equipped with everything you would need. So peaceful looking out at the lake from our deck with a bottle of wine! The fire pits at night were awesome. We picked up a $5 bundle of firewood from a nearby stand and started the fire ourselves, not sure if they would provide materials but it's certainly easy and cheap to get stuff yourself in the local area.

Great place for families, although if you are looking to stay somewhere your kids can hang out on a beach, this may not be for you. They have an awesome deck and pier to sit on the lake but limited beach front and swimming. This was fine for us as there are plenty of public beaches on the lake a short drive away (check out the local state parks!).

Personally, I felt it was worth it to pay a bit more to be closer to the lake, but the cottages in the upper area looked great too!

Especially in COVID times, this was the perfect getaway for us. No crowded hotels, we had plenty of space, and everything was clearly cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. Single Island shores sent us detailed check-in instructions the day we arrived for a contactless check-in that included the property manager's phone number if we needed anything. Of course, I'm sure protocols will change as COVID evolves, but they are absolutely doing the best they can and following all relevant guidance to keep everyone safe!

Can't recommend enough! I would definitely return here on my next trip to the Finger Lakes!

Single Island Shores is a well thought out group of individual cabins. They are beautifully landscaped and spaced so you have a view of the lake. We had a 1 bedroom and the bed was very comfortable with a ceiling fan for extra cooling. The kitchen had a full sized frig and was stocked with all the dishes and utensils we would need. I especially loved the Keurig that came with a supply of K-cups, sweeteners and creamers. The lake was just a short walk away. There were tables and chairs and we would bring down some wine and watch the ducks while the sun set. Very peaceful after a day of hiking or visiting wineries. It was exceptionally clean and even smelled "new" when we arrived. We would definitely stay there again.

Amazing beauty. Peaceful yet so much nearby to do and see. Ashley (the manager on site ) was wonderful and accommodating. We had a family reunion here with over 50 of us and made memories to last a lifetime. We rented over 9 individual cabins and each one was spotless and comfortable. Can't wait to return!

The cabin was very clean starting with the hand soap dispenser to the towels, room etc.. Everything you needed was there in the small cabin. Had to purchase wood for the fire pit. The wineries were all around.
Enjoyed the walk to the deck and the view was spectacular.

Are there places to rent a boat for the day to get out on the lake?

Completely! Boat rental businesses are generally seasonal though. so rentals available around Memorial Day until end of September depending on weather. Multiple marinas, like Glen Harbor or Anchor Inn in Watkins Glen and more options further up the lake in Geneva.

Also, guests of Single Island Shores should know that we do not provide a lifeguard. However, Smith park, which is only 2 miles South does have roped-off shallow area and a lifeguard on duty. Kindly, Ashley L., Property Manager

Does every cottage include a sofa bed to accommodate an extra person?
Answer from Ashley L
Hector, New York1 contribution
Apologies for delay in response, Krayce. Thank you for your interest in Single Island Shores. We do have a sleeper sofa in every single cottage. So, all our single-bedroom cottages can sleep up to 4 people and all our double-bedrooms can sleep up to 6, etc... Also, we don't charge any extra guest fees so it's the same price if only 1 person or 4 people stay in a single-bedroom cottage. Kind Regards, Ashley L.
