This is a solid suburban Hyatt, in an area of central Long Island that offers more than a quick glimpse at the map might suggest. Yes, it is just off the Long Island Expressway; but we never heard nor saw the freeway or its noise. The view east from our room window was amazing: almost all trees (just one townhouse development, but no other built structures or roads). The outside pool is a little oasis; surrounded by greenery. For our stay in June 2021, COVID-19 protections were baked in: the lobby’s breakfast area tables were few and far apart; circles painted on the floor helped establish 6+’ social distancing. The state parks 1/2 hour away (on the Long Island Sound) were great, as was the Vanderbilt estate & museums complex we visited one afternoon. I would actually give this hotel a 4.5; and we hope to return on our own (we went last weekend for a wedding), and just enjoy a relaxing stay at a very nice hotel in a very nice part of the world. Do be aware, though: this is a popular hotel for weddings, dance & sports groups, etc. If you like that kind of interesting, ever-changing energy (as we do), then this is your kind of hotel. But if you want a complete off-the-grid retreat from the world, then a boutique hotel might be more your style.

Our experience at the Hyatt Regency Long Island was absolutely awful. Upon arrival, I asked the concierge what restaurants delivered, and she told me to just use the Uber Eats app - unacceptable response. Also, we were very disappointed to learn that the restaurant had already closed at 7:30 for the evening and the only option for dinner after our 7:45 arrival would be to go back out to get food somewhere else off-property (after 5 hours of traveling to get there). When we got to the room, we didn’t have enough towels or pillows for our family of 4, and when I tried calling the front desk, I got hung up on the first 3 times I called. When they finally answered, they said they would deliver the number of towels and pillows I requested. The items arrived quickly, however, they were missing 1 pillow and multiple hand towels from what I had requested. In addition, one of the hand towels that was in the room was dirty/stained. When we were showering, the tub kept filling up with water. The air conditioner in the room was incredibly loud and kept turning on and off (again, very loudly each time) every few minutes. It kept us up all night the first night. Having to go to the lobby to get ice was also quite an inconvenience. On our second night, we tried to order room service and were told that we would have to go down to the bar to pick up the food. That is most certainly NOT room service. In addition, there were sadly only 5 items on the menu (wings, turkey sandwich, ceasar salad, burger and ice cream). The only good thing about this stay was that the pool experience was good (outdoor pool). Overall, we will never be staying at this hotel again and will not be recommending it to anyone.

Place ran like a college frat place. Smells of weed No help at all here. No one barely ever answers phone. Looks nice but that is it. elevator one hasnt been fixed. Bag was temporarily lost had to call cops. No security here 1 useless guy does nothing No one calls you back as promised few times. Run dont walk away from here!!

Thank you for your review. In response to the increased call volume, we have enacted a cell-phone number for guests to text with any requests or questions to be answered within a few minutes. That number is given in our key packets upon check-in. We have also addressed your concerns about the quality of security by adding additional security on select days. Additionally, our engineering team has identified and corrected any abnormalities with our elevators.

Understaffed. 1 counter person. 1 security guard. 8 different wedding parties checking in. Bag stolen during checkin. No one available to help find it. We had to call the police to report it. After the police showed up the bag was "discovered" in the hallway of the 10th floor. Lobby bathrooms were not maintained.

Had to stay here for a baseball tournament at Baseball Heaven. Had my room cleaned, trash removed and towels refreshed one time over a three night / four day stay. Luckily I bumped into a housekeeper in the hallway and begged her to turnover my room. Carpet and bathroom both look old and in desperate need of updating. Heating / cooling system would wake me up everything’s it turned on or off. Understandably hotels are getting back on their feet from COVID but don’t charge me full price as if it was business as usual and set expectations during check in. During check in guests were given keys to rooms that already had people staying in them. That should have been my cue to head somewhere else. I won’t be back to this hotel or Baseball Heaven which also doesn’t seem to understand customer service.
