A wram, welcoming place to land. Every room is comfortable and inviting. A relaxing soak in the huge tub and a glass of wine to finish the day. Dinner at the Inn is a special treat and the breakfast never disappoints! Peter and Doug are the most gracious of hosts!
Don't be put off by the intro ... We reserved the Inn for a memorial gathering of family and friends. We had almost 50 people and the reception by the staff was GREAT! They provided everything we needed in the way of food, drink and ambiance. The buffet was excellent and bountiful. We provided the fond memories, fellowship and the love. Doug, Peter and Tracy do fantastic work!
I had an absolutely beautiful time while staying at the Benn Conger Inn this past weekend. The owners are very hospitable making sure your every need is met. They offer really good seasonal dinners to purchase as well as a continental breakfast. The rooms are gorgeous. They have several diverse rooms, good for one person or several. The inn itself has been there since the 1800’s. Anyone who loves the nostalgia of staying in a historic place coupled with friendly owners, and beautiful rooms will love staying at the Benn Conger Inn.
We recently spent a weekend here for our son's wedding and couldn't have felt more at home. The Inn is owned by Peter and Doug, who clearly love the inn and their customers equally, and show it through with enthusiasm. We were first greeted by Doug before we even stepped inside. He came out the front doors when he heard us pull up and greeted us with hugs like we had known him for years. Doug was thrilled to show us the main building and the dining rooms (there are 5) and the bar. Our rooms were in the adjacent building, another turn of the 20th century house. The beautiful grounds include a lovely gazebo where the couple got married outside. All of the rooms in the house have been remodeled and decorated with no detail overlooked, and from the looks of it I would say they spent a lot doing it! The beds comfortable with plenty of pillows, and our bathroom had a jacuzzi tub. Peter is the cook and does a great job. Dinner was delicious the night before the wedding, breakfast was cooked hot the next morning, and the wedding meal including all the appetizers were just perfect, everything hot and tasty. They also provided a brunch next morning for the wedding party and once again, they took care of everything for us. The only single thing they didn't prepare was the wedding cake, and their recommendation for a baker was excellent. Perfect!! In the evenings, Doug tends the bar, and boy does he! We had a ball visiting with him, and would go back just to share a couple of hours of fun there. There is no detail that they didn't take care of. Doug and Peter truly love this Inn and their guests. It seemed there was nothing they wouldn't have done for us.…
I think that you’d have to travel to Ireland to find such warm hospitality as my wife and I found at the Benn Conger Inn. It’s a wonderful Bed and Breakfast, though they do weddings and other social events there. We were cordially greeted at the outset and shown our room which was very clean and comfortable as well as perfectly decorated. Our bed was a king size and quite comfortable. Doug and Peter, the proprietors, are great hosts. The food was second to none. Be sure and visit them after your day for a glass of wine in their nice bar off the foyer. Then, Doug and Peter will likely join you and regale you with humorous tales about the business. Don’t let the small town of Groton put you off, The Benn Conger Inn is jewel in those Ithaca hills.
