We ate at their outdoor restaurant. Since we had no reservation, we had to place our order at the bar. The staff was very nice. The host made sure we would get our seating area as we ordered. We got the oyster appetizer, I got the mussels with the potato side, and my gf got the burger. Everything was delicious, especially the burger. The only negative was that the pillows were a bit dirty from being outside and there were mosquitos for a little bit. But other then that it was a cute vibe.

Awesome little hotel in an awesome little town. Breweries, wineries, great little shops. The breakfast delivered to your room in the morning in a picnic basket was great. Hall stairs were a little tricky late at night, lol. Very clean and newly renovated room.

I decided to take my husband away for the night for his 40th birthday. I was so excited to stay here as the photos on the website made the rooms look super luxe and clean. The stay was nice and there were high points. Let me begin by saying the room was simple but the furnishings were nice. The room was comfortable. The toiletries were so nice that I didn't have to unpack mine. The ladies who worked at the front desk were super nice. One of our favorite parts was the picnic breakfast they leave at your door in the morning. Now for the not so great. The curtains covering the windows were clearly missing as well as some wall hangings as was evident from the hooks still hanging in the wall. Our room was also above the bar which played very loud music until late at night. The most disappointing part was the shower though, it not only took forever to get barely hot enough to shower, it was also filthy, there was mold lining all the silicone surrounding the shower and truly made me question if the rest of the place had even been cleaned. Paying $400 a night for a hotel I SHOULD not feel grossed out in the shower.

Our stay was amazing ... 5s all around. It was a quick overnight for me and my wife while our daughter was at my parents. Loved the setup downstairs and the square. The suite was top notch and super comfy. Best was the soak tub and breakfast basket at the door in the AM !!! It's little details like that, that makes a place standout

my wife and i stayed at this hotel this past August. We couldn't even sleep in the bed because the sheets and the Comforter were dirty. We spent a lot of money to stay there and we had to sleep on towels because it was so gross. the next morning when we went to check out i let the woman at the counter know that the room was very dirty and the next customer may not be as understanding as we were she basically told me whatever. i wasn't looking for anything from this hotel just to let them know about the lack of cleanliness of the room we stayed in. I was so upset that this woman didn't care i emailed the owners 3 times and to date i haven't even received a sorry for your inconvenience. I am a small business owner and if i ever treated my customers this way i would be out of business. So if anyone wants to go to Greenport NY stay away from this place. over priced and dirty.

I guess theres some discrepancy in the rooms at this hotel but my sister and I stayed in the 2 bedroom suite for a wedding this weekend and It was amazing! Room 8 had it's own mini bar, coffee station, couch, TV, two bedrooms and one bathroom. The room was meticulously clean and up to date. Not to mention, in the morning, concierge delivered a picnic basket with breakfast goodies, OJ and coffee. I would stay in this room again in a heartbeat. Thanks American Beech for the amazing stay! We'll absolutely be back.

We loved the setting. The food came out about 2 minutes after we ordered. It had clearly been sitting around. The cod was the worst but the meatballs were also really bad - terrible spices. The steak was dried out and salty but best of 3 main courses. If we ever went back we would not get food

A friend and mine dined at American Beech which was a very nice dining option in Greenport. The menu is diverse and the atmosphere lovely. Like many establishments at this time, they could use some better trained staff. I will give them a pass since COVID has been trying for those in the hospitality sector.

We stayed for three nights and had a wonderful experience at this lovely hotel. The staff were attentive and couldn't have been any nicer. Honestly after reading a few reviews prior to arriving we were a bit nervous. Our room was Beautiful, Super Clean, Comfortable King Sized Bed, two Comfy chairs and what looked like a Brand New Bathroom w/Large Shower. We were warned about noisy evenings but didn't have that at all. The 2 window air conditioners hummed us to sleep. Didn't even hear any noise from other rooms. A Really Nice Breakfast was delivered in a White Wicker Picnic Basket each morning filled with yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, bagels and cream cheese, OJ and coffee. During our stay the hotel supplied us with a Town Beach Pass which gave us access to the Town Beaches (which is a big plus). If you wanted to ride a bike they were there for the asking, the courtyard had many private sitting areas for hotel guests only. If you wanted a glass of rose wine, it was complementary each evening. Once again, if you would like a really nice get-a-way, the American Beech Hotel is a breath of fresh air.

American Beech -- where we had stayed a few years ago and had a good experience -- was terrible this time. It was so bad, we left after one night, instead of staying for three nights as planned. — We were told the quite expensive room would be quiet; they failed to mention a loud, late bar was right underneath. Our sleep was badly disrupted by this. — ROOM WAS DIFFICULT TO GET DARK FOR SLEEPING: TV was lit up like a giant night light; had to unplug it. Mini bar had a glass door; the light inside was very bright; noisy little ice machine w/ lights on it. —Front security door to rooms 6/7 was always unlatched. Anyone walking along the busy street could come right in. — No closet, nothing, of any kind at all. (There was a clothes rack, out in the open, with a few hangers.) — No dresser of any kind at all, either. — Bathroom light (above mirror) did not work — We were told it was a suite; it is not a suite, not by any possible stretch of the imagination. It is a tiny little hotel room. — A quite lame “breakfast” was delivered, but there was no table, absolutely no place to eat in comfort. Also…. — No comfortable seating of any kind; a “daybed” was the only seating, and it was useless and uncomfortable
