From the beginning to ending of our stay there were consistent issues. The key didn't work when we finally got to the room so that interrupted us. Then we discovered that a light bulb in the room was out. Another interruption of our time together. We had to wait for someone to come and then for them to fix it. Next there was no extra blanket in the room as they stated there would be. Now here we go again waiting for that. On the terrace we discover wet lounge cushions. Again, we call, we wait for them to arrive and then we wait to get it fixed. We head out in hopes of taking a break from all the room's issues. Upon returning, the key doesn't work AGAIN. So we wait again. Then we go on the terrace and then we discover that a bulb is out there too. Now we call, we wait for them to come, two people come and then we wait for them to troubleshoot, they leave, they return and it can't be fixed. They don't know what caused the issue. So now here we are in a suite that is priced well-above it's value and having constant issues that we can't even enjoy our time. We wanted to enjoy the sunset that didn't happen. The shower head had issues and so did the bath. We didn't discover those issues until the morning of checkout. Seriously, when is the last time this room was repaired. The terrace is also over due for a paint job. This is not luxury at all. While we were glad that they were attentive to trying to fix the issues, it was really disappointing that there were so many mishaps to begin with. This really soured our thoughts of the property. We have friends who travel often and we share our experiences. We thought for sure this would be a property that we recommended, but we cannot recommend it at all as of now. Hopefully, you all will make amends for the bad experience that we encountered for my birthday.

In this COVID world this is a nice Greenport hotel that has a good location for walking around town and short trips to the wineries. The rooms were good and clean and we had a nice view of Greenport Harbor and Shelter Island. The rates are ridiculous, but everything in and around Greenport are so if you can get past that you’ll have a nice stay.

It’s Covid-19 times so everything for road trip type weekends is overbooked and overpriced. Greenport is no exception. We snagged a Junior Suite for $430 a night at the Harborfront Inn which came out to over $500 a night after resort fees and taxes. The Good: First and foremost the location is ideal right on Front St. With the hotel at basically 100% occupancy, and because the parking lot is first come first serve, get there early if you can. Granted you’ll need your car to get anywhere other than the quaint downtown area but if you can leave your car and walk, do it or risk coming back to a full lot. 5 stars for its accessible and walking distance to everything downtown location. The water views from the rooms that have them are great. The North Ferry to Shelter Island is literally next door. Check in was easy and the staff are all nice and friendly. No complaints there. The Bad: The rooms are very very tired. With rates soaring to $500 a night, you’d really expect something of at least a 4 star hotel level. The carpets had stains, the bed linens had an enormous yellow stain right in the center, and the in room coffee maker was just plain unsanitary. Photo of the water tank shows some yellow water at the bottom. Gross. Overall: 5 stars for location but 2-3 stars for a dated room with unsanitary conditions. It’s clearly not up to par with all the new requirements for deep cleaning rooms in between guests.

I booked this hotel on its website on July 16 for 4 nights btw Aug 9-13 for a room with balcony facing the harbor. Beijg constricted for half a year in the city, we really want to have a relaxing vacation. There is a new, well designed and decorated better hotel half a block away, Medhaden, but it doesn't have a balcony in the room facing the harbor, so I chose harborfront, what a terrible mistake! After 3.5 hours drive, we arrived around 5pm, the front desk could not find our booking. How can it be? I didn't book it from a third party website or via travel agent. I booked directly on their website. Then she said they are over booked, and they don't have any room for the period we are staying. So they are sending me to another hotel outside of the town on the other side of the peninsula. And they only have one night available, so they would have to find us another hotel the next day. What a nightmare! Who wanted to spend their vacation looking for a place to stay and worrying where to stay. It was the height of the tourist season, so we wouldn't find anything better than what we booked. When we drove to the hotel they found us, they said there was a 2 star hotel with 4 nights available. In desperation, we had to take it as it's hard to find a place to stay for 4 nights. That was the last room in that hotel, the smallest room that could not even put two bedside tables. The wifi and the light didn't work and the A/C on the window was extremely noisy, so we couldn't keep it on when sleeping. So we couldn't do anything inside and sweated the whole night. The entire vacation was destroyed by Harborfront Inn. I emailed and called the supervisor. He didn't responded my email or call me back. The receptionist said we would get a refund. But no, we never got our deposit back until at the end of September I called them again. This hotel doesn’t care about their guests. Not only overbooked in high season, but also wouldn't refund your deposit if you don't keep on calling them. If I don't check my credit card statement, they would just keep my deposit. What a scumbag! Stay Way from this hotel.

The place is pricy and when we arrived, they asked for $20 a night to park the car, which wasn’t referenced on hotels.com nor was that the case the last time I stayed this summer (in fact it said free parking on hotels.com when I booked) and then there’s a resort fee of $27 a night for I’m not sure what in the fall since it’s too cool to use the pool and the breakfast wasn’t anything you’d want to stop by to pick up. Can’t say this is the place you need to stay at aside from its proximity to town.
