Spent one night here on the East End of Long Island celebrating my birthday. We ate at a Mexican Restaurant in Greenport and then checked in. The hotel has a pool. Our room was nicely sized, there was a mini fridge, excellent AC, and an air purifier on the floor. The shower was good. Best of all the queen sized bed was very comfortable with nice bedding and the best pillows I've ever had the pleasure of sleeping on. In the morning we enjoyed the continental breakfast which featured excellent coffee, exquisite mini quiches, and scrumptious mini blueberry muffins. I hope to return again next year.
Do NOT give them your money - even in COVID times with months of advance notice, they will not give a refund on our deposit for a wedding room block, for a wedding we didn't even get to have. Heartbroken doesn't even come close to how we are feeling...and the owner/manager, Deborah, is incredibly unprofessional and rude..so just do yourself a favor and don't get involved with this place because you would be better off staying anywhere else.
Room was basic but clean and spacious and bed was super comfortable. Made good use of outdoor pool and deck area which wasn’t crowded mid-day. Hot tub was closed due to Covid. Staff was friendly and breakfast was solid - the jellies were especially delicious. Location is ideal for car free travel. Quick walk from LIRR station and then walkable to restaurants, shopping, waterfront park and a couple of small beaches. FYI for train travelers: Check in is 4:00 and the train gets in at 2:00pm. They kept my bag and I toured the town. Not a huge inconvenience. Overall, a great stay.
Here for a 4-day getaway and the room was very clean, staff very hospitable, and surprise, they even had a complimentary Tesla charger. The individual outdoor room entrances made us very comfortable in the time of COVID.
We checked in on time on Sunday, July 26th and immediately jumped in the pool directly outside our room. We have been coming to The Greenporter for 20 years and have always enjoyed our visits, were greeted by the nice staff and always enjoyed talking with the other guests in the pool about life, jobs and kids.It was a bit unusual to hear from some of the other guests that their experience at the pool the previous day was a bit unpleasant. Apparently some 30ish group of guests had been disrupting other guests, playing loud music and drinking openly out of glass bottles in and out of the pool. As the Greenporter does have posted rules, they complained to management who addressed the issues and were met with a tirade of cursing and arguing about their poor behavior. The other guests were apparently so annoyed by this group that they left the pool area and returned only when these pople left the pool. Upon hearing this, I was totally shocked. I have never had an experience like this at the Greenporter and have chosen this hotel because I can bring my family without worrying about this type of guest. I addressed this with the owner, a lovely lady by the name of Deborah, and was assured that these guests were advised of the pool rules and that it had been handled. The rest of our stay (4 days) was indeed delightful and without incident. We love that the other guests feel relaxed and friendly around the pool and we had many interesting and enlightening conversations.Always clean, always friendly and a safe place to stay. This is our home away from home!…
