Spent one night here on the East End of Long Island celebrating my birthday. We ate at a Mexican Restaurant in Greenport and then checked in. The hotel has a pool. Our room was nicely sized, there was a mini fridge, excellent AC, and an air purifier on the floor. The shower was good. Best of all the queen sized bed was very comfortable with nice bedding and the best pillows I've ever had the pleasure of sleeping on. In the morning we enjoyed the continental breakfast which featured excellent coffee, exquisite mini quiches, and scrumptious mini blueberry muffins. I hope to return again next year.

Dear Steve1948: Thank you for your feedback and for acknowledging the hard work of everyone at Greenporter Hotel who work so hard to make our guests feel welcomed and safe. So happy you enjoyed dining downtown! Lucharitos is a crowdpleaser and so close to the hotel that you can have that extra margarita and just walk home! So happy you enjoyed the comfortable bed and shower as well as all the other amenities including the air purifier in the rooms and the homemade breakfast. We look forward to welcoming you in the future!

Do NOT give them your money - even in COVID times with months of advance notice, they will not give a refund on our deposit for a wedding room block, for a wedding we didn't even get to have. Heartbroken doesn't even come close to how we are feeling...and the owner/manager, Deborah, is incredibly unprofessional and rude..so just do yourself a favor and don't get involved with this place because you would be better off staying anywhere else.

Dear Victoria, We are broken-hearted for all the brides and grooms who had to reschedule their weddings and we rolled along with all them and rescheduled weddings multiple times--moving many to next year. For your wedding and others, we even called customers to see if they would reschedule their vacations so we could accommodate second and third wedding dates and everyone came together in favor of our couples. People were even willing to downgrade their room types and take different times of year-well into winter. After the second rescheduling of your eight-room block for October, you decided to cancel but we offered to reschedule for you again or apply your deposit to another stay, even if for 2021. We are a family-run business and don't operate with the same cushion as larger properties but take personal interest in doing our best for everyone and honor our contracts; and in the case of COVID, went above and beyond our contractual obligation. We wish you the very best and remain here to help you reschedule or return to the area.

Room was basic but clean and spacious and bed was super comfortable. Made good use of outdoor pool and deck area which wasn’t crowded mid-day. Hot tub was closed due to Covid. Staff was friendly and breakfast was solid - the jellies were especially delicious. Location is ideal for car free travel. Quick walk from LIRR station and then walkable to restaurants, shopping, waterfront park and a couple of small beaches. FYI for train travelers: Check in is 4:00 and the train gets in at 2:00pm. They kept my bag and I toured the town. Not a huge inconvenience. Overall, a great stay.

Greenport is the perfect car-free destination because you can walk from the Hampton Jitney or LIRR station (same place), as well at the Shelter Island Ferry. We have reduced the number of pool lounge chairs in order to maintain social distancing and to keep pool occupancy under 50 percent of normal. We also removed tables from the terrace for guests to be able to socially distance on our outdoor terrace during our complimentary breakfast. The other plus of staying at the Greenport is that you can walk to over 30 restaurants in the village for great food and cocktails prepared by renowned chefs and master mixologists that abound in the area. We also have a bike rental that delivers to your room or to our bike rack for excellent cycling scenery ranging from farms to beaches. We agree that Greenport is a perfect pedestrian destination and we look forward to having you here again!

Here for a 4-day getaway and the room was very clean, staff very hospitable, and surprise, they even had a complimentary Tesla charger. The individual outdoor room entrances made us very comfortable in the time of COVID.

Dear Pondini, Thank you for choosing us for your 4 day getaway. We remain very focused on the cleanliness of our rooms and the comfort of our guests and are happy you enjoyed being able to charge your Tesla as our guest. It is an advantage to have all guest rooms open to the outdoors and we have plenty of outdoor space from our pool area to exterior corridors and our outdoor terrace for breakfast and relaxing at any time. Thank you again from all of us.

We checked in on time on Sunday, July 26th and immediately jumped in the pool directly outside our room. We have been coming to The Greenporter for 20 years and have always enjoyed our visits, were greeted by the nice staff and always enjoyed talking with the other guests in the pool about life, jobs and kids.It was a bit unusual to hear from some of the other guests that their experience at the pool the previous day was a bit unpleasant. Apparently some 30ish group of guests had been disrupting other guests, playing loud music and drinking openly out of glass bottles in and out of the pool. As the Greenporter does have posted rules, they complained to management who addressed the issues and were met with a tirade of cursing and arguing about their poor behavior. The other guests were apparently so annoyed by this group that they left the pool area and returned only when these pople left the pool. Upon hearing this, I was totally shocked. I have never had an experience like this at the Greenporter and have chosen this hotel because I can bring my family without worrying about this type of guest. I addressed this with the owner, a lovely lady by the name of Deborah, and was assured that these guests were advised of the pool rules and that it had been handled. The rest of our stay (4 days) was indeed delightful and without incident. We love that the other guests feel relaxed and friendly around the pool and we had many interesting and enlightening conversations.Always clean, always friendly and a safe place to stay. This is our home away from home!
