We were group of 6 (3 Adults and 3 Children - Age 7-10). During registration/booking make sure you pay the site locking fee otherwise they will change the site location originally booked. I think locking fee should be included in the booking fee but it is trying to make pennies while not considering customer satisfaction/retention.

Activities like foam party, laser tag, water slides/pool area, jumping pillow and playground are good amenities for the kids. They are understaff due to Covid but help staff is very nice and helpful. For Adults the hot tub area was clean and nice.

Camping/tent grounds are very small and not marked properly but the price is very high compare to other campgrounds.

Tent sites seem to be an afterthought. Group of six by fishing pond, with two bathrooms (singles, with single toilet and shower, rather than a bathhouse with multiple toilets and showers), and another group of three on a hill behind RV sites. Otherwise, enjoyable, although the gaga ball pit is hidden away near the laser tag and family pool (the latter also tucked away.) There is a large playground in roughly the middle of the campground with two big bathhouses adjacent. Staff helpful, although we felt rec center should have been open all the time, particularly during rain with coloring sheets or other activities. No charging of items to campsite. Laundry room is air conditioned, which is nice, but there's no change machine ($2.75 for either wash or dry), so if you don't have quarters, you'll have to wait until office opens at 9 a.m. Would stay here again.

Just got back from a weekend at Jellystone Birchwood Acres. We had been to another Jellystone recently and it was easy to make comparisons as it was very different. Birchwood Acres feels like a traditional campground with small activities and not overly themed. It’s not Disney afterall! Like others mentioned, the surrounding area is run down and the grounds were not as well-manicured like the other Jellystone visited, but the staff is what made it enjoyable. Alex and his buddy (pretty sure they were dressed as the characters as well) ran all the activities and were great with the kids and accommodating for the parents. All the activities were timed so not everything was running at the same time. This works for the spring season and maybe not so much for the summer. We did gem stone mining, laser tag, paddle boats and crafts. The kids were obsessed with the popular jumping pillow and the large playground. Note, still during Covid times, most people were not wearing masks, especially young children. Masks are needed for activities but wasn’t strictly enforced.

A few things to note about this Jellystone: One, just driving to this Jellystone took all of the excitement away for us. The surrounding area (admittedly not Jellystone's fault) is just scary to drive through, there is a penetentiary right down the road and the local towns (if you can call them that) were just disgusting. Arriving to the park, the park itself does look fairly clean and well kept, however there is just too much park. Our cabin was about 5 centimeters away from the next cabin over and about 900 miles away from the main attractions of the park. Unless you plan on getting in your car OR spending a billion dollars on a golf cart rental, the place just does not look comfortable. We went during the pandemic so we wanted to go to a campground to get away from the crowds. Unfortunately, this campground is a campground for city people (NYC is just an hour or two away) who don't understand what nature is. Just pulling in to register, we couldn't find any parking anywhere, there were cars everywhere. We ended up just leaving without even staying we were so turned off by the city-like feel of the place. Once again, I can't say anything bad about cleanliness as far as I could tell AND the people working were very gracious and understood our concerns and gave us a refund but if you've been to other Jellystones in less populated areas, you'll understand why this just did NOT have the feel of a Jellystone and it would have been just stressful to stay there.

During the process of searching for Covid safe vacation with kiddos I stumbled across jelly stone on the website and said “wow, this place looks perfect”. Well, it could have been perfect but unfortunately it definitely was not the perfect experience. Few attractions like jumping pillow, stone mining were closed which is understandable due to covid, But what is not understandable was my personal experience with the staff from the main office. On the day before we were leaving, we wanted to go on the paddle boat. I went in to the office and ask about the paddle boating, one of the lady said it’s $10 deposit and can ride as long as you want, $10 deposit will be given back once the boat was returned when she went to check for availability there weren’t any boats left and advise to check in 15 mins later. Back at the office 15 mins later and another lady tells me, we don’t let the boats go out after 5pm. I said “excuse me?” The other lady just told me to come back after 15 mins and that‘s what I did. Then she changes her story and says all the life vests are dirty and need to be sanitized. While having this conversation, there was one other lady in the office also asking about the boat and was told the same. We were disappointed and was still around the area and saw that same lady at the office with me and she had the life vest in her hands by the dock about to get on one of the paddle boat. My sister and I went back and complained about the situation and then she gave excuses then eventually gave us the life vest for the boat. Went back after 20 mins to return the boat, she only gives back $5 and says that they charge when we ride almost 30 mins and I said we rode for 30 mins? She said close enough. Lol ~ I was like what the hell is wrong with this lady, I didn’t want to argue about $5, so I left it at that. But then she kept mumbling saying stuff and I couldn’t take it anymore. I confronted her attitude and her discriminating behavior towards certain people vs another. Are you kidding me? We’r in 2020! Absolutely disappointing and upsetting to experience this. I will never return to this location and trust and believe, I will advocate this experience with all my friends and family. No one needs to be on vacation with family and experience this type of non sense.

This was the third Jellystone that we visited. We were extremely disappointed in this one. The cabin was filthy. It obviously had not been cleaned in a long while. Additionally, the cabin itself was an eyesore. There was overgrown bushes in between cabins which I understand some people may like for privacy but our picnic table and fire pit were placed right next to the overgrown bushes. There was no other space to move them or we would have been eating in the street. Bbq grills are not provided to cook on. You have to purchase a grill top to put over the fire pit. In other Jellystone campsites, the candy is provided for the kids to participate in candy BINGO. In this one the kids must bring their own candy which we did not know prior to checking in so that was a disappointment. The water play area for kids was nice and all the kids, ages 7-15 had a fun time there. Will likely not return to this Jellystone. Not worth the money paid.

We just stayed her arriving Labor Day and checking out Wednesday; it wasn’t a usual jellystone experience but was perfect for our needs. The kids got to swim Monday afternoon and then the pool was closed for season. The campground emptied out and we enjoyed driving our golf cart around the propert. It’s very authentic to
What we thought a campground in the Catskills should look like ( some said overgrown/ run down) We were able to take out a paddle boats out in solitude we were the only ones on lake. Because there were no organized activities, it forced us to create our own adventure. We left the campsite and saw the breathtaking Awosting Fall in minnewaska state park. Hiked Sam’s point Preserve/ mountain and climbed the ice caves- adventure of a lifetime! We had a 10 & 6 year old and a puppy.

Cabin was immaculate. Staff was friendly. We went June 19-21st. Other than Sunday pool and waterpark was closed. This was not advertised or we probably would not have gone. The Catskills does however have a Boat Cafe which is a restaurant that rents boats. We rented a picnic boat and ate on the boat. That was a nice treat. Kosher too.

Bedbugs and Bear scat. We just got back from our yearly Columbus Day weekend camping trip at Jellystone. We go with several families and we have gone for 10 years. The camp celebrates Halloween this weekend and the kids trick-or-treat and have lots of fun. But this year we got bedbugs from cabin 125. What a mess to return home and discover all these bites and have to wash every single thing and throw out Halloween costumes and other things that can’t be washed. Plus my daughter has a sleepover birthday party in three days and we have to exterminate our house. It was 39 degrees at night so, no mosquitoes. Plus these are the typical bites in clusters on parts of the body exposed at night. Small hard itchy with liquid in the center. Yuk.

Another thing that was concerning to me about the park is that we noticed Cat among the cabins and when we asked the staff, they admitted that yes, there are bears that come into the camp. But there were no signs to warn people not to leave food out. People should know this, but in other campgrounds where they have a bear that comes into camp, they have warning signs educating people about what to do with their garbage. This campground did not even have proper waste containers. They were open dumpsters with peoples garbage bags piled all around. This is a real attraction for bears presents bears camping is part of nature, but I would think that the campground would attempt to make people aware and teach them what to do to not make the problem worse. I was also expect the campground to take precautions like having proper trash disposal to make bears less of a nuance. The response of the staff just made me feel that they would rather keep the issue under the radar, then take steps to make campers aware and safe.
