This is a special spot!! I loved the feeling of privacy - looking out from my lodge I could've been the only one around for miles. Magical light works at dawn and at dusk. Delicious food. Peaceful walks with majestic and mysterious vistas. Well worth a visit!

We stayed 2 nights here. The opportunity to see rhinos was amazing and we really enjoyed this experience. We also also loved walking in the park, climbing rocks and visiting the caves with ancient rock art. The staff at the camp are hospitable and welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Meals were tasty and catered for all. Being winter,... More

We were 3 friends who stayed at The Big Cave. We had 3 wonderful days. Our guide Tawanda was very sweet to us, and his knowledge of the nature had no ending. We went on the morning tours and that is differently recommendable. Big Cave Camp is a family hotel and feel that atmosphere, we had good talks by the... More

Great place to stay when visiting the Matoba hills. Excellent staff and knowledgeable guide. Hosts were great, really enjoyed sun downers on lightening rock, good food, great setting. Very pleasant stay, nice rooms. Game drive around the property in the evening and track white Rhino in the early morning in the park.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review Big Cave. I am very happy that you enjoyed your stay in the Matobo area. Certainly the white rhino tracking for me is such an enjoyable experience and not something that is easily done anymore! Glad you also enjoyed the activities on the property. Best Dave More

Great tenting facilities, hot showers, flushing toilets. There is a great little bar for evening gatherings. Brown the camp attendant is a fantastic host. For wildlife, call African wanderer safari's. The combo of the two made a perfect unforgettable journey.

Not too far from Bulawayo for business, but far enough to feel like you are really on a safari. Thank you for special attention for a quick romantic break. Private dinner. Gorgeous views from our room. Great staff. I am sure we will see you again soon. Many thanks

For those who wish to experience Africa, Big Cave Camp is a step in the right direction. However, it should be noted that the road from the camp to the reception of the lodge with the same name, leads past the staff compound. The compound unfortunately is not neat or clean and this creates a poor impression. Wifi access at... More
