I have just returned from two weeks in Zimbabwe (volunteer work and holiday) that included three days at Nyamatusi Camp. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It was a very luxurious camp; the accommodation was excellent, the food was great. I had my own plunge pool which I used every day to cool down. I found the staff very friendly, welcoming; they all called me by my name and seemed interested in what I was doing and what I needed. My guide Ntando was excellent. I don't know how he was able to find the animals; he knew what I needed and helped me get great pictures. I came home with some great pictures. I have been on many different African safaris, but I got four pictures I had never seen before: pangolin, nyala, owl and malachite kingfisher. Russell and Chloe made me feel very welcome. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday.

This is a lodge/camp that is only a couple months old. We had excellent service by the staff. Our guide Ntando was fantastic and so very knowledgeable. The host Russell was always present to make sure we had everything we needed. He dined with us every night along with Ntando. The cabins/rooms are lovely with outstanding views of the river and animals. There are tons of hippos and elephants. The bird life is exquisite. Also, there are tons of antelopes, impala, water buck, kudu, eland. We canoed the Zambezi, which we were apprehensive about doing due to the hippos and crocs. Our guide TK put us at ease and we had an amazing time, finishing with sundowners on the river bank. We loved Nyamatusi!

Spent 4 nights at ABC’s Nyamatusi camp after spending a few night in Somalisa. The camp is very nice albeit individual tents are further away providing more intimacy. This is nice except when wild animals roam the grounds. We 8nitially had fears around security but those fears abated as time passe and we got more comfortable with the environment. Chef Charles prepared very good meals and adapted to the needs of his guests, whether it be preferences, allergies or more simply schedules. Our guide, Shingy, was phenomenal at finding animals and teaching us about the environment we were visiting. We recommend the walking safari as well as the canoe trip, with the hippos and crocodiles. A good balance of emotions in both cases. Finally, we were privileged to have our private host ans sommelier Russel take care of us. He made sure everything ran smoothly, he prepared special events for us outside the camp and he even shared his wine tasting expertise with us as we tasted the camps nice wines which they keep 8N8, a nice cellar. A final word on Pamela who treated us as if were were in a 3 star Michelin restaurant. We highly recommend this lodge.

The fantastic welcome I received on arrival set the tone for my stay at the property. The staff make you feel at home and my guide Alf was absolutely outstanding. As well as game drives (where we saw a lion get chased by an elephant!) I also did a walking safari and he made me feel incredibly comfortable leaving the vehicle and setting off on foot. Sitting with the wild dogs was the absolute highlight of my stay but I also have to mention the thrilling canoe safari, my heart was in my mouth the entire time, but I would definitely do it again! The camp itself is in a great location with stunning views of the Zambezi. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with a private plunge pool and outside day bed, the perfect spot for a post lunch snooze! The food and wine in camp was first class and well presented and no matter how hard you try (trust me) you won't be able to resist the dessert!
