Magnificent 3-night family stay for the first time at the Hide in Hwange. It was a little difficult getting there (self-induced and shortcut related!) but well worth it in the end. Warm greetings by Bridget and Andy who managed our stay and ensured everything was to our liking throughout. Had a delicious, expertly-plated lunch shortly after which set the tone for the exceptional food we were to be treated to. Chef Gift has a natural eye for detail and all the food was well prepared and presented. Wabayi our waiter didn't miss a beat either. Part of the COVID prevention measures involved not rotating guides, so Nkosi looked after us for all game drives. We had brilliant sighting of lions, wonderful birding (particularly the eagles) and magnificent elephant encounters over sundowners. When we didn't feel like going out the game viewing from the rooms, the hide and the main 'relaxation station' at the lodge was phenomenal. Huge herd of sable which was a unique to see, as well as a special drive (safely) alongside excited buffalo rampaging down for an evening drink. A night was also spent in the Doves Nest, the spectacular treehouse set away from the main lodge. It is beautifully built and one of the most unique experiences we've ever had from years of vising safari lodges.

Dear the Evans, We are thrilled you chose the Hide for your first visit to the beautiful Hwange National Park! Bredgette, Andy, Gift, Wabayi and Nkosi are so happy with your comments. We are extremely lucky to have the staff we do! Our marketing team are also very grateful for the beautiful Instagram posts you did during your visit. It is so lovely to share a guest's first-hand experience on or social media platforms. The best part of this review is your comments on the Doves Nest. It truly is a highly recommended and in your words unique African, wild experience for guests! We loved having you in camp and hope you can visit us again soon! All our best. The Hide Team

My husband and I just had a fabulous time at The Hide. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff were welcoming, attentive, cheerful and helpful. Special shout out to Andy, Innocent our brilliant guide, Bredgette, and chef Abu. The highlight has to be the incredible sighting of painted wild dogs and then the sunset at Mbezi pan. Oh and the night in the Doves Nest. We also loved seeing huge herds of buffalo and elephants. The food at every meal was varied and delicious. The tent is so comfortable ... “glamping” at its best 😄

We had a memorable stay at The Hide. Perfect setting on it's own waterhole, well appointed and comfortable accommodation, attentive staff and great food. We had an excellent guide and all round game viewing - predators, plains game and many birds. The highlight was a leopard for about 45 minutes on the last morning, with his kill which he eventually dragged off into deeper cover.
