Just back from 3 days at The Hide - stayed in Tent 8 which had a great view of the waterhole and right next to main area....one of the days x 4 vultures turned up across the waterhole just chilling out for a few hours as if they had popped to the beach! The tent was fab with all that was needed and the added bonus of an outdoor shower and bath! The food served was delicious. Thanks to our Guide Innocent we managed to see lots of different animals and bird life including a rare sighting of x 3 bat eared foxes! A highlight was one of the evenings when driving out for sundowners he drove us to a plain filled with palm trees which was quite surreal after driving through woodland and made even more special by a herd of elephants drinking in the waterhole. Stayed one of the nights in the Doves Nest - treehouse; if there is availability this is so worth doing and the most amazing experience; you are given drinks when dropped off for sundowners and then dinner is delivered at 8pm. The night sky looking at the stars is magical. A truly unforgettable African experience. Thanks The Hide!…
We stayed at the Hide for 3 nights and had a fantastic time. Andrew, Teo, Bridget and all the staff were excellent. The facitities were spot on and the knowledge Teo imparted on his game drives so good. Thanks Guys.
We had a wonderful 3 nights at The Hide in tent 5. We experienced a storm on the first night and could not sleep as the view of grazing kudu (we think) grew closer with each lightning flash. Then twice each day we would roam around in the jeep with a really knowledgable guide (many thanks Nkosi) sighting a huge variety of creatures from lions and snakes to hyenas and ostriches, all over different types of terrain. It was pure joy. The Hide is situated by a water hole so ideal, drink in hand, for watching more animals at dusk, and swapping stories with fellow travellers. Staff are all extremely helpful and a pleasure to be around. Food is very good and you can help yourself to range of pre dinner drinks. I could go on but the whole experience was just superb.
A concession just outside Hwange National Park. A great location, the food was superb and staff amazing especially guides Henry and Theo. We stayed in Tent 2 really pleasant indoor shower but I used the l fresco which could do with slight improvement. It did not impinge on the safari or stay. We stayed AI had a self service bar if required but all staff were more than happy to fetch and carry for you. The laundry service was excellent and included in the stay.
This place was fantastic. the view from the rooms was amazing. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that you had everything you needed and great knowledge of the park. The food was great and different every day. We saw a lot of groups of the animals not just one by itself. Henri the tracker was great fun on the drives as well. We loved our stay there
