Just got back from a three night stay at Little Makalolo. Kim, Leo and the team are amazing. We had the camp to ourselves and it was wonderful. The tented camp is very comfortable - love the bush babies. The food is outstanding. Dinner under the stars with Kim will always be a lovely memory of our time at Little... More

Little Mak is an extremely comfortable camp with just six tented chalets set in a semi-circle around a watering hole which is frequented regularly by a variety of wildlife especially elephants. Each of the tents are well laid out with indoor and outdoor showers facilities. The hot water is generated by solar panels and is very effective although it does... More

Our visit to Hwange was one of the best part of our safari (going to starting in Moremi, Khwai, Linyanti, Vic Falls, and ending in Hwange at Little Makolo Camp). It sits with a great view of a watering hole and without fail elephants walk through to get a drink of water. The service, food and organization are impeccable. Kim... More

Little Makalolo is a very cozy bush tented retreat that breathes the old days and where one feels like David Livingstone must have felt. Excellent game drives with our ranger Justice taking us to the lions, cheetah's however they dryer months must be far more excellent with little water around and the bigs herds gathering there for a drink.

Small private camp in very large reserve. Lots to see without covering the same ground. Solar powered rooms, and a nice pool but check around for elephants before plunging. Good-sized tent rooms where you can often see elephants and cape buffalo from your outdoor space. People were great from start to finish offering water, cool drinks and cool towels after... More

This was our last stop on an eleven day African holiday. Our group consisted of my wife and our three adult children. We flew into this camp from Victoria Falls on the "bush planes" which consisted of a 12 passenger single engine and also, for this trip, a smaller 4 passenger plane. You can also go overland to the camp... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Charming and intimate, Little Makalolo's location in the south-east of Hwange lends it a sense of seclusion and remoteness. Nestled into the treeline, the camp overlooks a productive waterhole that draws large numbers of wildlife, observed up close from the log-pile hide. Elephant, buffalo, giraffe and zebra are regular visitors, while special sightings include sable, roan and eland. The area is best explored on game drives and guided walks, with special extras like an unexpected pizza or a night spent under the stars on the Madison Pan star-bed platform. • 6 tents (1 family) • game drives • nature walks • Madison Pan star-bed • log-pile hide • village visits ... more   less
