From the time we arrived, Joel, the camp manager was most hospitable and a wonderful camp manager for Ivory Lodge - making guests welcome with a big smile and personality. Despite the year the tourism sector has had, all the staff are wearing big smiles and always friendly!

The rooms look out onto the vlei where we saw antelope and an although we visited in the green season and the bush is very thick - its a wonderful setting to have a lodge and treehouse units that look over the waterhole at the front of the camp.
Food was good and the chef's homemade goodies are always fresh.
Well done team!

Experienced 2 night stay at Ivory Lodge, what a way to start 2020! On arrival, we walked into the thatched reception- and dining area and we immediately knew we were in for a true African treat we will remember for a long long time. Thabiso greeted us as old friends and manager Joel immediately made us feel welcome with his humerous and warm nature. Most beautiful private unit on stilts with authentic African decor and luxury bedding awaited us where we spent hours into the late night chatting away on the small veranda area and watched buffalo, crocodiles and gorgeous bird species. Ran down one morning to the hide to watch the Kudu herd coming to drink at the water hole to catch a closer look at their majestic horns. We decided to do our own game drive and Thabiso arranged to have our scrumptious lunch packed as a picnic bag to take along. Best lunch ever! Breakfasts and dinners were delicious and every need we had were tended to with great detail and care. We discovered we forgot a pair of sandals at the lodge and went back days later only to find that they kept it for us with another invitation for a coffee! If you need a break and want to experience the bush and the wild, this is your place. Only regret we had was that we only had 2 days to spend there, will definately book at least a week there next time!

12 of us visited Ivory Lodge in April 20 22. We were bowled over by the wonderful surroundings and absolutely amazing hospitality. Joel, Michelle , Jameson and the team were so warm, friendly and attentive. We felt genuinely sad to leave them and would dearly love to be able to visit them all again. Zebedee and King, our game drive guides were unbelievably knowledgeable about all of the wildlife, the plants and habitat. They were both fascinating to listen to and we learned so much from them. They were absolutely fantastic. The camp has a rustic, natural feel to it. The beds are extremely comfortable and the bedrooms contain everything that you need. Considerable thought has gone into the design and layout of the rooms. There are lots of thoughtful little touches and every room has a great view of the watering hole. We were lucky to see an elephant and a herd of kudu drinking from the watering hole on the first day and then saw a warthog chasing for kudu away! We were taken care of beautifully. Washington, the chef, attended to all of our difficult dietary requirements. A great deal of care went into the food preparation and we really enjoyed all of it. Well done guys, you are doing a fantastic job!

We spent 4 delightful nights at this wonderful lodge. The staff were fantastic and could not do enough for us to make our stay truly memorable. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable. Sitting on the veranda watching the game come down to drink at the pan is so peaceful. The food was beautifully prepared and the chef created some excellent meals for me as a vegetarian. The most awesome experience was sitting in the Hide with the elephant right next to us, they are such magnificent animals. We highly recommend this lodge.

Group Trip with Overseas Adventure Travel. LOVED this camp.
View elephants at the hide where you are within a few feet of them licking the salt.
Staff is excellent! Hello Peter, you are the best.
Rooms are situated where you can see the animals come and go by the waterhole.
Meals are great and full bar for your nightcap after a long day.
The best guides for the game drives! Fell in love with one of them!

We were a group of six people going here together. I'm so happy that we chose this lodge for our safari trip. The staff was very friendly and took real good care of us making sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were super comfortable, and the view was fantastic!

Shamis, our guide, was great! She made each game drive super exciting, she was well experienced and answered all of our questions. I hadn't expected the game drives to be so educational but I learned so much! She really gave her best I can tell!!!

We experienced amazing sunsets, spotted tons of animals and had super cozy lunch and dinner back at the lodge with great service.

I can only recommend this place to others, and again I'm very very happy I chose to stay here.

What a magical place to stay! So close to Hwange National Park but you won't even need to go that far... The hide near the watering hole is a magical place. The experience of sitting that close to wild elephants is still making me happy weeks' later. Then there was the herd of buffalo just outside our door one dawn...

Our Game Guide, Shamie, was the biggest highlight. She was passionate and highly knowledgeable about the animals we saw. Dedicated to giving us the best experience ever, Shamie went above and beyond for us. OK, it was very hot. But coming in the dry season is great for animal spotting. A brief list of some of the animals we saw: elephants (so many!), lions, impala, kudu, Sable deer, wild painted dogs, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, jackals.

The Lodge is an oasis of calm and peace. The Manager Joel is the consummate professional ensuring highly attentive but unobtrusive service.
Jameson and all of the staff were warm and friendly.

The Lodge is rustic and unobtrusive in its natural environment. A perfect balance of comfort, mod cons and getting away from it all.

Thank you to all of the Ivory Lodge team. I don't hesitate to recommend. You'll go back home feeling like you've made new friends and dazzled by the experiences you've had.

I was there for March 16 & 17 2020, at the height of the coronavirus panic. The Lodge was a sanctuary of beauty and comfort. Our host, Joel / Monkey was jovial, kind and kept us well entertained. Food was great, the tents/ cabins were very comfortable. The watering hole was a constant source of excitement as a herd of elephants visited. I truly hope that the Ivory Lodge is able to survive over the next few months. I will definitely return and will encourage friends to stay there. It is incredible.

I cannot begin to describe the feeling that my family got from Ivory Lodge. The staff was AMAZING. CJ and the rest of the staff were beyond friendly. Five star service, five star food and that's before I even get to our guide, Munya, who was simply the best part of our trip to Africa. He was so knowledgeable an put up with all of our questions with patience, a sense of humor and insight to the plants and animals of Hwange. I would rate them higher than 5 stars if I could.

The setting is lovely and we did not mind the short ride to the national park. There were plenty of things to look at on the way, The rooms were spacious, clean and ours had beautiful views. My son decided that afternoons in the hide were his favorite.

I can't recommend the Ivory Lodge highly enough.
