During our 2 week safari, we stayed at 3 camps/lodges and Hwange Bush Camp was the highlight. It is a little more rustic than some of the luxury lodges, but it is the perfect fit for such a remote camp. Even though the tents are on the ground and there are bucket showers, you will suffer no discomfort. The large bed is comfortable and you still have a flush toilet. Also, the food is very good and plentiful. The camp is managed by Sophie who keeps all "the boys" in check and makes sure everything runs according to plan. This camp is famous for its long safari walks(5 hours), but the staff were very flexible. I told Sophie we wanted to do a 2-3 hour safari walk each morning, but wanted to do jeep safaris for the rest of the day(you do see more animals from the jeep). That is exactly what happened and it was the best combination for us. Our guides were the best we encountered on our trip. The lead guide was Spike, a legend in the Zimbabwe bush. His understudy was Sean who is already acquiring a great reputation. For example, one morning Spike said " I hear lions mating 500 meters in that direction. So we drove there and sure enough there were two lions mating. We saw more wildlife here than we did at a later camp in Botswana( it should be the other way around.) But the biggest thrill the guides provided was on a walk that brought you within 2 meters(six feet) of several elephants. It was done as safely as possible and provided a great adrenaline rush - a memory not to be forgotten. When I first arrived, I was a little unsure of the concept and ethics of walking safaris, but the staff won me over during our 4 nights here. All of the people working at Hwange Bush Camp are the reason why they provide a top notch safari experience.

It’s quite difficult these days to find somewhere in the bush where you feel like you are in true wild areas, well Hwange Bush Camp gives you that and so much more. We had lions, hyena and jackals calling every night, we were guided by excellent guides who took us not only on exciting but very educational walks, We managed to see the big four in one morning (lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo).

My personal best experience in Hwange National Park by far!

Second time staying at HBC and we were not disappointed. The guides here are excellent and so passionate about what they do, we had some great game viewing and birding. Highly recommend doing game walks as well as drives. The service was spot on too. Thanks HBC we will be back.

My two sons, ages 21 & 27, visited Hwange Bush camp for 4 days knowing it was great for walking type safaris. The entire experience exceeded our expectations. The entire staff goes above and beyond to ensure you are happy, comfortable, well feed and getting the most out of your trip there. We lucked out in being the only group at the camp and it was just an amazing experience.

The food was incredible, breakfast by the camp fire, the bbq and elegant dining was so good. Our walks thru the bush, tracking lions, close encounters with giant bull elephants, finding hyena kills as well as game drive in the jeeps made for the best experiences one could ever hope for.

Thank you all so much for making our trip to Africa one we will remember for everin the best possible way!

The food is the best We've ever had at any safari camp anywhere. One of us has a special diet that was accommodated with the most delicious food ever. The service was superb, safari drives and walks were awesome. Everything was clean and you were always well taken care of. It got very cold during our visit, and we were toasty warm in our comfy bed. Could easily repeat this lodge.

Stayed here at the commencement of our Zimbabwe safari. Great little tented camp offering all you need and nothing you don't! Great guides in Spike and Sean and attentive camp staff. Food is excellent and plentiful, and the camp has a lovely feel about it. Breakfast served around the firepit and dinner in the open sided mess tent. We were joined each night by an African wild cat!
Safaris by vehicle and foot, led by professional guides who really know their stuff and instil confidence. Transfers by light aircraft. Stay for 3 nights to get full benefit.

Five of us have recently spent 3 nights at Hwange Bush Camp and it was fantastic! The staff and guides are some of the best we have ever had and we really enjoyed our stay.
Professional Guide Peter Soloman was knowledgeable, patient and keen to give us the best sightings possible, along with the game-drives, we really enjoyed the bush walks.
Food was delicious!

A great few days spent at Hwange Bush Camp. The staff were brilliant, guides extremely knowledgeable and the camp was rustic but comfortable. Our group saw 4 of the Big 5, and even tracked lion on foot.

An incredible experience, we’ll be back.

Camp was comfortable, with Lion around camp at all times. Game viewing was fantastic. Loved every minute of it, cannot recommend it more. Thank you Hwange Bush Camp for the best experience.
