Thanks to ATR All Africa Travel based in London this was our beginning of an amazing trip. The itinerary was perfect from the bush to Capetown. Each property selection was wonderful. At this camp a bit more rustic the staff was wonderful. Beghe manned the bar at night and made the toast over the fire in the morning. And Kevey in the kitchen tent produced great dinners. Not to mention the animals all around. A very special place .

I can't say enough great things about HBC. It was our first camp of three, and although the other two were great camps and more "luxe", HBC was by far our favorite. It starts with Rachel, who greeted us each time we arrived at camp, and makes sure the camp runs smoothly and all the guests are well-cared for. Shawn was an incredible asset - a great guide-in-learning and helpful with everything. He took time to set up a tripod for me and help me take some amazing astronomical photos at night - way above and beyond. Our guide for this trip was Andrew, who taught us so much about the wildlife behaviors and tracking, and brought us to some incredible lion encounters. Although HBC is considered a more rustic bushcamp, the food and services were first-rate. Each meal was better than the last. And the accommodations were comfortable - bucket showers were fun. The best thing about HBC, however, was the communal dining and post-meal fires. The conversations and laughter with the other guests, as well as the HBC staff, was a highlight of our trip. By the end, we felt like we were saying goodbye to family. HBC will always have a special place in our heart and we can't wait to return.

Hwange Bush Camp was our 3rd camp on our fabulous safari trip. Totally different but just as exciting and luxurious! The food was excellent and we dined every evening at a table setting that would have looked at home in any banquet hall. Rachel was always there to welcome us back to camp and see to our needs. Just because this is a mobile camp, there is no lack of comfort! The tents were extremely comfortable. Having some misgivings about the bucket showers, we were surprised to realize how much hot water comes out of the buckets, enough to wash and rinse your long hair. Petrus was our very knowledgeable guide and we enjoyed hearing his stories of the bush. He was just as happy to sit and watch a Saddle-Billed Stork feeding in a waterhole as he was to slowly follow a cheetah walking down the road. The BIG Event was the evening we sat in amazement as over 100 elephants of all ages gathered at a waterhole. Watching elephants splash with complete abandonment in the water and mud is a sight we will never forget or the sight of a momma elephant using her trunk to help her baby get out of the pool. On our trip back to the airstrip, Sean took the time to track a large herd of buffalo that we had not been able to see. The Morning Tea was served at a wonderful overlook of surrounding hills.

My two sons, ages 21 & 27, visited Hwange Bush camp for 4 days knowing it was great for walking type safaris. The entire experience exceeded our expectations. The entire staff goes above and beyond to ensure you are happy, comfortable, well feed and getting the most out of your trip there. We lucked out in being the only group at the camp and it was just an amazing experience. The food was incredible, breakfast by the camp fire, the bbq and elegant dining was so good. Our walks thru the bush, tracking lions, close encounters with giant bull elephants, finding hyena kills as well as game drive in the jeeps made for the best experiences one could ever hope for. Thank you all so much for making our trip to Africa one we will remember for everin the best possible way!

It’s quite difficult these days to find somewhere in the bush where you feel like you are in true wild areas, well Hwange Bush Camp gives you that and so much more. We had lions, hyena and jackals calling every night, we were guided by excellent guides who took us not only on exciting but very educational walks, We managed to see the big four in one morning (lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo). My personal best experience in Hwange National Park by far!

A great few days spent at Hwange Bush Camp. The staff were brilliant, guides extremely knowledgeable and the camp was rustic but comfortable. Our group saw 4 of the Big 5, and even tracked lion on foot. An incredible experience, we’ll be back.

Second time staying at HBC and we were not disappointed. The guides here are excellent and so passionate about what they do, we had some great game viewing and birding. Highly recommend doing game walks as well as drives. The service was spot on too. Thanks HBC we will be back.

We went with a few friends, this camp was perfect in all aspects. Staff were friendly and efficient, guides were a wealth of knowledge, that outdid our expectations. Camp was comfortable, with Lion around camp at all times. Game viewing was fantastic. Loved every minute of it, cannot recommend it more. Thank you Hwange Bush Camp for the best experience.

This is a small, rustic camp set right in the middle of the wildlife. Tents are extremely comfortable, made more so by the hot water bottles in the beds at night. We were worried it might be too rustic -- bucket showers? -- but couldn't have been more comfortable. Our camp manager/hostess made sure we have everything we needed for a great stay, and all the staff were incredible. I couldn't believe the food they were able to prepare with a really basic kitchen. Meals are eaten at a large table where guests can exchange stories about their adventures, and the conversations continued outside around the fireplace. We enjoyed getting to know our guides and fellow travelers over drinks. The guides were outstanding for both driving and walking adventures. We even tracked some lions one day (and found them!). In addition to being extremely knowledgeable, our guide found us incredible views each evening for our sundowners. We stayed at a few different camps during our trip and this one stood out. Thank you for such a memorable experience!
