We stayed overnight as part of a 2 day excursion. We found the reception staff to be unwelcoming and the service in the restaurant was poor. We were very disappointed. The rooms need a good refurbishing.
We were here for one night en-route to Matmata. The lobby is spacious and open. The room is reasonably sized and we had a twin share room. The furniture is fairy basic, but I am shocked with the blanket that they use. It is camel colour wool blanket, they look worn and tired and I am skeptical on the regularity of throughout washing or cleansing of such item. The bathroom is fine except I can feel a layer of dust on the surface of bench tops and this appears to happen with some of the other furniture too. As we were traveling down the corridor to dinner, the corridor was not sufficiently lit. It was almost dark. We thought the hotel does this for energy saving and waiting for the sensor to switch on. However, the lighting was poor as we were traveling to the reception area at night. We had to use our own phone as torch. The location for this hotel is close enough to the Douz International Festival and the entrance of the Sahara Desert. I would recommend you to bring your own sleeping bag or bed linen if you have allergy to dust.…
I never try the hotel massage service but my friend gives good comments and recommend me to try. There is a big garden planting dates inside the hotel with a nice swimming pool. I love it’s WiFi, very strong.
Stayed a night at the above hotel en route to Djerba, the lobby looks pleasant with wood carvings on the pillar depicting the dessert and the hotel surrounding. Hotel Wi-Fi is weak even at the lobby and there is no Wi-Fi in the room. While trying to connect from the lobby, we keep getting error messages, very frustrating. While making our way to the room, part of the the floor was tiled then subsequently the floor was laid over with very thin and worn out carpet. In the room, lighting was poor, peeling paint in the bathroom, only two soap dispenser, one at the wash basin, one at the shower area (no other tolertries offered). There is no bracket for a standing shower as such one has to sit in the bathtub to shower as the bracket for the shower was just inches above the bathtub. The buffet spread for dinner and breakfast were really poor, lacking in variety and bread were stale. During breakfast, the only hot station is for pancake, bread was hard, dry and stale, no bread toaster or machine coffee. …
For comfort and ease, this is a great hotel in Douz. There's just a few options in the area. We had breakfast and dinner included which was very convenient and the food was good. The beds were a bit hard but we were comfortable. WiFi is only accessible in the lobby and is not reliable or fast.
