Please save your money. I feel "taken" by the posted photos. If you want to pay for the view only - then stay here. They are selling themselves as a luxury resort. This is not a luxury resort. Our room was stark - furniture minimal and old and not antique old. The bathrooms are 30 years old or older. Like an old Quality Inn bathroom. I am embarrassed to share what I paid for the room. It came with a small kitchen (which I do not remember booking but I guess I did). IF you want that, it is functional but super tiny and circa 1990. E2B was my room. Practical things like a bedside lamp or nearby outlets to charge phones were non-existent. My room sort of had a balcony but to get to it I had to step way up high onto a radiator to get out there. It is just to stand on - no room to sit on balcony. Drapes looked to be about 20 years old too. The bed was comfy - thank goodness. Upon check in I was told there was a boat house and we could take boats out on the incredible lake. On Saturday when I went to inquire I was told NOPE, boats N/A. There is signage directing guests to boathouse but nothing was available for entire weekend due to lack of safety equipment. Rate does not include breakfast. Coffee (plain) was $4 a cup. Really? When I went to check out I offered to discuss all of the above with someone but manager was not available and I left my number. Never heard from anyone. This was overall a strange experience and I would not recommend.

This is a beautiful hotel on a gorgeous piece of property with incredible views of Geneva Lake. Plus, it’s very quiet. Add an excellent in-house restaurant - Diciannove Dieci - and it’s an ideal location to be based as you explore the incredible Finger Lakes region. And the staff are very nice & helpful.

I once was privileged to have a private wine tasting with Robert & Sue Mondavi of Mondavi Wines. It was held at the stately Inn at Quogue in the Hamptons of Long Island during a celebrity-filled summer season of great learning about wines and cuisine for me. I’ve also had the privilege to dine in some of the most famous restaurants in Manhattan during my years of residence there, and only one fine dining event has come close to matching or exceeding the experiences mentioned above, and that is my experience at DICIANNOVE DIECI at Geneva On The Lake, the former Capuchin Monastery located on majestic Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes Region of central New York State. Chef Carl spent quality time with us, telling us about the procuring and preparation, the care and consideration that goes into every dish prepared at Diciannove Dieci. Dinner was richly embellished with several extraordinary pourings of award-winning craft brew provided and presented by Peter Achilles, brewer at the agriculturally driven, award-winning Big Alice Brewery, based in Brooklyn, but with a new location just south of Geneva On The Lake in Geneva. Every selection offered was delicious, honestly better than any beer or ale I’ve ever had the pleasure to enjoy anywhere, which is… well, too many to count. Peter talked us through each selection, obviously loved what he does and was as personable and affable as Chef Carl… the two made a great pair, the dynamic duo of cuisine and beer. A trip to local Big Alice Brewery is hereby warranted. Both the beef and the pork was produced by Schrader Farms Meat Market in Romulus, New York and was exceptional. It provides high-quality, grain-fed, farm-raised meat in times when it's good to know where your meat is coming from. When such premium, grain-fed, fresh local meat falls into the hands of a chef like Chef Carl, it’s transformed into something beyond the expectations of even the most discerning of persons. Both the beef and the pork dishes were mouthwatering and delicious. I could go on and on. I’ve dined in the best of the best on both the east and west coasts and am proud to say that Diciannove Dieci, right here in the Finger Lakes, is second to none.

I cannot say enough about how great our experience was at this hotel. The hotel is so glamorous - but they made us feel right at home. Talk about lifestyles of the rich and famous! The staff was wonderful - John checked us in and was very nice and welcoming. Noah was our waiter - he was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The restaurant was superb. We had duck our first night and it was amazing. The chicken wings are a must! The chef came out to make sure everything was good, and we really appreciated his interest. Nina worked the bar and she was fantastic. The beds were wonderful and the pillows were fluffy. We plan to come again - this place is not to be missed.

For many years we have been visiting the Finger Lakes, and Geneva on the Lake. For many years, we have seen its potential and for many years we have left grateful for our stay. Geneva on the Lake is not a shiny object, it is elegance with a healthy dose of kindness, hospitality, HISTORY, architecture, and love. If you're looking for shiny screens, this is not your place. If you're looking for class and reward, the ability to exist, then come here and spend lots of time here. We have travelled to many hotels in luxury, and many are amazing. But, here, we have serenity. What other hotel is sticked with handmade historic Stickley Furniture on which you'll put your coffee mug and glass of wine? We are told that new owners have taken over the property - kudos to them for the work that they have performed in a short amount of time. The bar is a shining jewel befitting a beautiful region, the restaurant is welcoming, inviting, and tasty, and the renovations are taking hold. Kudos to them for doing with carefully - we do not need elegance to be downgraded by another shiny object. Know before you go - this is place to be- to savor carefully selected wine, food cooked with passion, and beds built by American hands for thousands of dollars.

The hotel is a beautiful location and the grounds were so nice even at this time of year! Most of the staff was professional and very nice. The hotel is renovating many rooms. Even though we had a deluxe room, there were needed updates. We were told that other rooms needed more renovations before ours. BeBeautiful very wary of packages and costs that are not clear from the beginning. We paid more than expected for an 'Escape' package. Booking online would have been an advantage in costs but we didn't know.

We booked a last minute weekend trip. Although the restaurant is closed for renovations, the staff planned an intimate 5-course meal in what was the original library in this mansion. There were only 6 tables, a blazing wood fire, candlelight, and a charming sommelier who explained all of the wine pairings with our meal. The entire staff was genuinely warm and we enjoyed our conversations with them. Each course was delicious and it was one of the more memorable dinner evenings we've had. We briefly went to the bar, with its beautiful cathedral ceilings and cozy lighting. The hotel is charming; yes it's older but the grounds are huge with an expansive view of the lake. Our two bedroom suite had eclectic antique-like pieces and was fastidiously clean, despite being older. We visit the finger lakes region at least yearly and we are so happy to have found another lovely gem to visit next summer.

What a beautiful boutique hotel. The 2 bedroom suite was exactly what this friend trip needed. Room, bar, restaurant, staff, all was perfect! Full blood moon rise from our living room, it was magical. The Appletini served at the bar was a delight.

As others have reported; we thought from the pictures that we were booking a ‘Boutique Resort Hotel” on our trip to the Finger Lakes, where we have stayed at various hotels in our trips. We were staying for just one evening and luckily for us considering the restaurant reviews, had reservations at The Port down the road. Arriving late afternoon, we were surprised to learn that our one bedroom suite was a third floor walk up a narrow stairway that was about the size of a fire escape. Although the front desk person was kind enough to offer to carry my bag, my husband had to carry his two and I had my small one. After sitting in the car for our drive out on the longest day, lugging wheeled luggage up three flights was not easy and our backs paid for it. Negotiating the stairway down the next morning with all our luggage was also no easy task. As also noted, the room was dated and tired but functional; however, most importantly, it was double the price, at $371.00 of the other, much nicer hotels we stayed in on our trip. Most peculiar was that you had to go outside to go in to the dining room where breakfast was an additional charge.

They never even responded to this email: Geneva on the Lake & General Manager Mr. William Schickel, My husband & I have returned to our home in Los Angeles after our New York State vacation and upon some reflection I felt compelled to reach out to you to give you the feedback from our stay. I was very excited to stay at what looked like a beautiful property from your website. Sadly Geneva on the Lake, and not to be cruel, was one of if not the biggest disappointments I’ve had with a property in more years than I can count. We arrived in the late afternoon on August 14th for our check in and were told that there had been an event the evening prior. There was still a large tent erected on the lawn but we paid no attention and went about our afternoon. We headed down to dinner and then to explore the property and that is where it all started to fall apart. Firstly, the dinner at Lancelotti’s was abysmal. The worst food we've had in years. We thought maybe if we went to the bar for a drink afterward it would cleanse our palate from the dinner but the room smelled so heavily of grease we couldn’t stand to stay. Next, we decided to explore the grounds to find them absolutely filthy from the prior days event. As you’ll see from the photos I’ve attached, there were beer cans and bottle caps strewn all over & the fire pit was even still smoldering. You had several elderly guests on the grounds but there were several hoses laid about which could be trip hazards. There were cocktail glasses littering the property will remnants of cocktail garnishes and the volleyball court was collapsed inward. We walked over toward the front fountain and were astounded to find that absolutely zero effort had been made to clean up the filthy mess that remained. There were bus tubs stacked with filthy glasses and dishes and trash everywhere. You’ll see disgustingly dirty cutting boards and food prep containers stacked up and cookery thrown on the ground. There were even sheet trays with the bloody remnants of prepared meat on the ground. We stayed two nights and absolutely zero effort was made during our entire stay to clean up the filthy mess that remained. When we departed two days after our arrival, three days after this supposed event, it was in the exact same condition as when we arrived. We actually tried to make other arrangements to leave early but our next reservation didn’t have the availability so we were trapped. Thankfully we were able to explore the town of Geneva and have a delicious meal at Kindred Fare before we moved on otherwise the town of Geneva would have been a waste of our vacation days. All in all, for a two night stay and one meal we paid almost $1000.00 I’m writing because your confirmation email to me stated that “we continually aspire to provide an exceptional experience to all our guests.” Please do better. You really should be ashamed of yourselves for providing this type of “exceptional experience.”
