We returned to stay at the William Smith Inn in late October and loved it all over again. Maureen and James are wonderful hosts, making us feel welcome and safe during this difficult time. As retired B&B owners ourselves, we always appreciate the details that go into making the Inn special. Breakfast was absolutely the BEST! Hope you get to try James' Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. They are light, zesty, and golden. We look forward to our next stay.
We rented the entire Inn for a week in June 2020 with our family and some friends -- after approximately three months of a difficult NYC C-19 lockdown. Our family has traveled extensively throughout the US and abroad --- this trip will remain high on our all-time list. We could not endorse this place more. The house is beautiful, impeccably clean, well furnished, comfortable, and fully equipped. The outdoor spaces, particularly the porch, are spectacular. It is located in a beautiful neighborhood and close to everything. A terrific vacation spot. The owners of the Inn let us use everything -- bikes, grill, entire yard, etc. For us, the best part of the experience was getting to know Maureen, James, and Kelsey (and their wonderful canine duo - Walter and Larry). Had we wished, they would have left us entirely alone to enjoy the house by ourselves -- they live in an entirely separate section of the house, so if you would like to rent the entire house, you have 100% privacy, and they will not intrude. However, we quickly got to know them, and our vacation would not have been the same without them. Terrific, warm, friendly, fun, and laid-back people. We will be back!…
Maureen and James Wallace were excellent hosts. The 1873 house is beautiful, spacious rooms and a nice front porch. The hot breakfast were outstanding. Host were very helpful recommending wineries, restaurants and hiking spots. Would highly recommend and plan on staying there again.
What a beautiful home for a stay in Geneva. Room was very spacious and clean. We enjoyed having the large front porch to sit and relax. Delicious breakfasts and warm hospitality. The Finger Lakes Welcome Center is very close by and worth a stop. Nice place for a walk along the water, lots of outdoor seating and snacks available inside. Would definitely stay here again.
Maureen and James are wonderful hosts. So warm and friendly. The accommodations were excellent. Very comfortable clean. The hot breakfasts were delicious. Much was locally sourced. Great gluten free options. The inn is located close to town, Seneca Lake and numerous wineries and breweries. Also not far from other sites like Seneca Falls where there is a Women’s Rights Museum. We will definitely be going back .
