Stayed here as a staycation weekend with my friends and had an absolute blast. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the restaurant is absolutely delicious. For pet owners, there is a separate floor designated for those bringing their pets with them. My friend brought her dog and he (and she) had a blast in the room. Would def recommend!
All I can say is perfection! My husband and I are expecting our first child and we decided we wanted to be married before the baby is born. Given the current pandemic and our time frame we knew we'd have to have a smaller, intimate affair. We planned a micro-wedding for 22 ppl in a month and half and the GCH offered us the best deal, as well as being one of the few venues that would host an event of our size and with availability. Our event planner Brittany was such a pleasure to work with and she communicated so well with us in our brief planning process. She answered every question and fulfilled every request. Our wedding luncheon in the Red Salt Room went off without a hitch and we got so many compliments from our guests regarding the food, service, and ambience. You would never know we had such a limited time to plan because everything was so meticulously curated and we got to enjoy our wedding rather than worrying about details. We were gifted a room at the hotel by friends and the hospitality continued on throughout our stay. Brittany was kind enough to make a dinner reservations for us that evening and we treated like VIPs during our meal. We were offered complimentary champagne by the restaurant manager and different staff came by to congratulate us throughout our meal. Even the front desk staff was aware of our nuptials and went out of their way to congratulate us and make sure our stay impeccable. Our room was also beautifully decorated to make it a true honeymoon suite. I honestly could go on and on about how wonderful our experience was. Highly recommend!…
The Garden City Hotel is not providing Valet Parking or Bellhop service and using the excuse it is due to Covid. It is not a nice experience to arrive at the hotel in the rain (while a Bellhop employee stands there and does absolutely nothing to help), have to unload the car in the rain and carry the luggage because there are no carts available. Absolute lame excuse, if I wanted a Motel 6 I would have booked a room there.
This was my first stay, and it was for pleasure/ relaxation. The entrance is beautiful. Front desk host(s) are extremely friendly/pleasant.But when I entered my suite, I fell in love. Very clean and cozy. pleasant. Only stayed a night, as I had to go to work.. But I will definitely be going back for a longer stay.
I’ve spent 8 nights here for work (not by choice). It needs serious investment. The staff can be rude, rooms old and don’t even have proper duvets (it’s just an old rug with a sheet). The only positive is free coffee, although I suspect this will disappear post COVID. Every time I need something in reception I have to shout as staff hiding in back office. Not terrible, but huge room for improvement.
